And I want the 1970 Black Barracuda from the film Phantasm but it's not going to happen.

Then again hopefully by 2010 this "going green" fad will die off.

Idiot. "Going green" isn't a fad, it's an important step to reduce the damage that's being done to the planet.

Watch Penn and Teller: Bullshit and The Great Global Warming Swindle and then you'll certainly sir feel like an idiot for believing the Captain Planet nonsense.

Well if magicians Penn and Teller said global warming is a hoax, then clearly it is a hoax and the millions of scientists worldwide who provide scientific evidence towards global warming are just lying....

"American, I assume."

Ugh, it sucks that *all* Americans have to suffer this prejudice because of people like Gundam_Warrior.

And I like Gundam, so please stop using that name.

funny how the parts of the world where science flourishes, they agree we need to take big but reasonable steps to transition to more efficient and sustainable energy technologies. i don't have much respect for the pockets of the world that believe the world is less than 10000 years old, dispute climate change, want to block scientific advances like stem cells, and believe STDs are a plague from god.

let's give Nintendo a huge pat on the back for getting ahead of the curve on this. a lot of companies in Silicon Valley and Japan are pretty progressive.

"want to block scientific advances like stem cells"

Really?

Is there a ban on Stem Cell research in the US? Or is it just media's way of saying that there's no federal funding for stem cell research, but research keeps going on regardless?

Let me guess, the guy who created the Weather Channel has NO idea what he's talking about, right?

Wait, are they demanding upgraded versions of the current consoles or just setting requirements for the next generation?

I don't see how anybody can criticise this measure. The environment is being fucked up and humans are to blame. Every little step helps so if the industry cannot get their act together and regulate themselves, then the federal government needs to step in and force a change. Only good can come from this.

As a former Environmental Science major who got out of the field because it is full of kooks let me say the EPA needs to be shut down. Environmentalism is based on junk science, which like statistics has been manipulated to show what they want to push. The audacity and vanity that we can screw up the planet is unbelievable. The planet goes through warming and cooling cycles naturally. Anybody want to know why we have high gas prices, thank the EPA...Between winter summer spring fall formulas of gasoline, region formulas and not having a single refinery being built in the U.S.A. since 1974 (pre star wars (the movie)) Sure the government also carries the blame between taxes and creating departments, such as the EPA, to do their jobs for them (which by the way is unconstitutional.
We as individual economies, and as a world world economy cannot afford to have this nit-picking industry destroying, economy disabling agency around.
As far as the people who may or may not roll their eyes when they read this and try to label me in a derogatory manner as an American. Damn skippy I am, and whats worse I'm an informed American who cares about what goes on in the world. We are not your doormats, we have saved your collective butts more times than not. so instead of being snooty be thankful.

Alright, I'll bite. If you ARE in fact an Environmental Science major, then I think that you'd be able to agree that ANY decrease in carbon emissions is a good thing! I don't understand why people refute living more sustainably.. it is good for the planet, regardless of the validity of the movement..

Or you can just exclude the environment completely and just be happy that it's gonna save gamers money on their power bills.
There isn't really much of a reason to be against this.
