Dang, looks like 2 months in a row without DLC for me:(

Why do you hate things that are awesome?
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Oct 18th 2008 4:17PM
Oops, I meant 2 weeks haha.
baby sea tuna @ Oct 17th 2008 4:10PM
Anybody know the reason for those omissions? Especially considering that those are the 2 songs that pretty much everyone would actually want to play? Licensing issues? Or did Courtney Love just try to grind up and smoke the master tapes?
Kellydude025 @ Oct 17th 2008 4:25PM
probably will be released in rock band 3? 4?
Just a guess, i wouldn't be surprised, isn't it three songs?
Come as you are
Lithium
Smells like teen Spirit
Jakka @ Oct 17th 2008 4:43PM
Lithium was in RB I think...
dark_inchworm @ Oct 17th 2008 5:36PM
Nope, In Bloom was in RB1 and Drain you in RB2.
I knew something was amiss. No mention of Lithium! Curses.
Kellydude025 @ Oct 18th 2008 12:49AM
yes dude lithium is one of my favorite songs by them
wazmo @ Oct 17th 2008 4:10PM
HOLY CRAP!!!!! MY DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE!!! but clearly they have some soft of plan for smells like teen spirit and come as you are..... the 20 free tracks?
koos @ Oct 17th 2008 4:13PM
My guess is that those two songs may be part of the 20 free d/ls for RB2.
I mean, one can hope, right? Please?
HazyCloud @ Oct 17th 2008 4:16PM
HMX has stated the 20 free tracks are not from artists on the RB2 disc.
Marcus @ Oct 17th 2008 4:21PM
Damn. That's too bad. Maybe, then, they'll just release the three hits as their own DLC three-pack? I dunno. I'm still jazzed for these songs but it seems a bit mercenary.
Plus? I know Polly is going to be lame for drummers, but I still would have bought it to get the whole album. But since there isn't the whole album yet... no Polly for me yet.
Kellydude025 @ Oct 17th 2008 4:27PM
i dont like polly at all, and territorial pissings isn't that great either imo, but the rest are grand, i'll probably pick up a few :D
Ghoti @ Oct 17th 2008 4:54PM
If the only ones you're skipping are Polly and Territorial Pissings, you might reconsider and go ahead and just get the pack. For the 5 other songs, it would be $10, and it's only $11 to get all 7, so you get those two songs you don't like as well for a buck.
If that's not what you meant, then sorry... :)
HazyCloud @ Oct 17th 2008 4:17PM
That clearly was supposed to read:
HMX has stated that tracks will be artists NOT on the RB2.
Anam @ Oct 17th 2008 4:19PM
Something about this announcement doesn't smell, and I don't like it.
kinshadow @ Oct 17th 2008 4:27PM
I could have sworn I smelled teen ..... oh nevermind.

wazmo @ Oct 17th 2008 4:28PM
yes maybe.
nirvana 3 pack
smells like teen spirit
come as you are
rape me/heart shaped box/about a girl
but either way im psyched for next week now!
Kyattsuai @ Oct 17th 2008 4:31PM
No! I kept telling myself not to buy so many songs, because the 20 free ones will be out soon, but they just keep making increasingly difficult.
Desert Eagle @ Oct 17th 2008 4:41PM
Nirvana? Mmmyep, pretty good DLC for next week. I enjoyed listening to most of their songs back in Middle school unlike now that I moved on to other better bands. Then again, I don't completely hate them, it's just that I don't listen to them as much now...
This will also be on the first Rock Band right? If so, I might download Breed so the drums kick my ass like always. :P
Ghoti @ Oct 17th 2008 4:56PM
Yes, all DLC works on both Rock Band and Rock Band 2. At least for now...
Eric @ Oct 17th 2008 5:02PM
You know I am the same way. but then sometime last year I put in nevermind and it blew me away again. It really is such a awesome album. I forgot how good it was.
Desert Eagle @ Oct 17th 2008 5:17PM
Ha, I have to agree with that Eric. I remember that whenever someone put any of the songs in that album on the jukebox in my school's cafeteria, I stayed from one end to the other of the song, even if I get a little late to class. Hell, I even sang some of those songs when I felt funky.
Now those days are long gone after they replaced that album for the HSM soundtrack...
Good thing I've a cellphone that can play music. :P
Jakka @ Oct 17th 2008 4:46PM
So that's pretty much "THE" Nevermind they've promised last year, cept they forgot the main song.
jakkaisadouche @ Oct 17th 2008 5:00PM
it was never promised.
dark_inchworm @ Oct 17th 2008 4:46PM
I (kind of sort of) TOLD YOU SO
Actually, I imagine that what was merely a hypothetical situation eventually blossomed into something so massive that they had no choice but to actually tackle Nevermind.
CyberKnight @ Oct 17th 2008 4:50PM
Bummer, I guess my desire to sing "Smells Like Nirvana" will have to wait.
At least I still have "Gump", "My Bologna", "Theme from Rocky XIII", and "Bedrock Anthem"... ;)
MowDownJoe @ Oct 18th 2008 12:18AM
They seriously need some of Weird Al's non-parody stuff. "I'll Sue Ya", "Hardware Store", freakin' "Albuquerque"... I mean, the last one alone would be epic, what with it being a long tiring song that the vocalist has to sing through the entirety of and has two completely out-of-the-blue solos.
Odog4ever @ Oct 17th 2008 5:07PM
This petty much confirms my theory that Harmonix is holding back "Smells like Teen Spirit" for Rock Band 3. Here's hoping Guitar Hero releases it as non-exclusive DLC soon and forces Harmonix's hand.
deaftly @ Oct 17th 2008 5:24PM
Yup, instant purchase.
Nap @ Oct 17th 2008 5:56PM
In regards to Lithium, Smells Like Teen Spirit and Come As You Are:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_downloadable_songs_for_the_Rock_Band_series#Unconfirmed_songs
Every Nirvana song just announced was part of that list as well as the latest The Offspring pack and some songs on RB2
Gewurz Man got equipped with... free Wii points @ Oct 17th 2008 6:00PM
Maybe they're holding back for the Weird Al parody instead.
Nap @ Oct 17th 2008 6:18PM
BRAiiiiN FReeeeZEEE!
Markez @ Oct 17th 2008 6:02PM
Lawd, I'm sorry everybody, I can't help it, I can't resist. I liked this music as a teenager, but grew up and realized it's absolute utter garbage and just plain shitty music. Chalk this up there to the number of times I had to pipe up when for some god awful reason they made a Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, another example of awfullly crappy music.
*ducks and flees for international waters
t_m @ Oct 18th 2008 3:54AM
that must be why its topped more "best albums of all time" lists than any other album then..
Markez @ Oct 18th 2008 5:42AM
Well if that dictates what is good music to you, then kudos! You'll never have to think for yourself again!
