World at War beta update raises level cap, adds playlists

I got my Beta code for this on Monday. When I entered it in it came up invalid. I emailed them about it and they haven't done jack shit!

In the meantime 3 of my buddies have been playing it (lucky bastards) and say they are really liking it so far regardless of it going back to WWII.

I suppose I should enter my beta code and see what all this fuss is about. Ive been sitting on it for over a week now...

Sweet, I'll be playing this again. To be honest, i still like COD4 more. I played the beta and I played until i hit 11. Once i hit 11 i got a little bored and tired of the weapons. Hopefully the higher cap will change my mind a little bit

Is anyone else not happy that the beta has been held so late?

I mean, Infinity held the COD 4 beta in late august if I remember. That gave them two months to polish the game.

The World at War beta however, was released on october 10th. The game is released on November 11th. The game has to be reproduced, and shiped by then.

So the developers probably have at most two weeks of polishing left.

I've been playing this beta, and not soooo impressed with it so far. I enjoy COD4 much more....dont think I'll be picking this up now. And like someone else said, the visuals wont be fixed at all from beta to gold and IMO this isnt at the quality COD4 was/is

Good! Maybe they can fix all the under the map glitching that is going on!! It's pointless to even play on Roundhouse because of it!

I'll come back to it now that the level cap is going up. Playing once you've unlocked everything and maxed out your level just isn't as fun.

I can't believe everyone is knocking the visuals of this game. You know it runs on the same engine right? If anything, I think that the graphics of World at War are more interesting than COD4. The maps at least have more personality. (Not just brown, brown, oooh a map with a tree! Like in COD4).

Yes, gameplay wise it is exactly the same game as COD4 with a WWII paint job, but when the gameplay is as good as COD4, how is that a bad thing?

i, for one, love the beta, and can't wait for the actual game to ship. i played COD 4 so much, and this game is a welcome change of pace. the dogs, for example, are totally awesome.

i've made the kool-aid for all my friends to drink as well. two have already pre-ordered it.

When Tryarch doesn't sux I will buy this game I already made a mistake by buying COD3 and TRyarch is afraid of calling this one COD5 so I figure they sux and will continue to sux. IW shouldn't let them touch and butcher the IP

I'd love to know what exact bugs and glitches were fixed. Should have added that in the news post if you knew it but i understand if it wasn't detailed when you got the info.

guys... i was a halo player since halo1 and i bought cod4 the day after it came out. played it for about 2 hours and put it back in the case and up on the shelf never touched it till about 3 months ago when a friend was all hyped about it. when i started playing it again i freaked out at how much better than halo 3 it was. you didnt have to pump your foes w/ 140 bullets lol. ne ways the modern warfare was an awesome idea. honestly how many WW2 games are pple going to make?? the biggest thing i have to complain about is the sniper rifles. i love to snipe in halo and in cod4. its not even fair when im sniping w/ a .50 cal. i love how its semi auto. you cant just bust off shots like crazy because of the kick, but i think they should have had a few sniper rifles that were semi auto. the m1 grand or how ever u spell it is like semi auto sniper, but its almost impossible to kill someone w/ it!!! i shot a guy 4 times in the chest from about 30 feet and he ended up killing me w/ a pistol lol. also i was using the 3rd sniper the weird spelled one, and i was shooting pple in the foot and killing them from like 2/3 of the way across the castle one. thats stupid. one more thing, the shot gun killing pple from like 50 feet away w/ one shot? come on. my biggest gripe is the old school weapons, and the sniper spots are pretty much in the open no cover in round house or what ever that one is w/ the tanks. and from the buildings, u can hardly see out the windows, once u shoot through them they dont bust out they just spider web and u cant see out the same spot. also i shot a guy 3 times as fast as my dumb bolt action would reload and it didnt kill him. i know i hit him kuz he had jugornaut and it showed up all 3 times. maybe ill like gears of war, i played it w/ my girlfriend and she raped me 4 games in a row, and she is only a lvl 24 in halo and im a 48.... when cod allows same screen online multiplayer, they will take the cake, and thats the main reason i didnt play cod4 when it came out, because my roomate and i couldnt play together we had to take turns, and i hated him playing on my profile lol....
