GH: World Tour snatches up new Oasis album DLC

Guitar Hero: World Tour isn't even out yet and it's already gathering a strong amount of downloadable content. UK pop rock artists, Oasis, join the DLC crowd with the sounds of their latest album, Dig Out Your Soul. Three tracks from the 2008 record will be available for download off the PS Store on November 6 as a three-song track pack or as individual tunes.

The November 6 pack includes: "Bag It Up," "Waiting for the Rapture" and "The Shock of the Lightning." Meanwhile, the rest of you who wish to play the album in its entirety will have to wait for an indefinite date in 2009. Guitar Hero: World Tour goes to retail by October 26.

They aren't even releasing the whole album at once? That's an interesting approach.

Then again, next weeks Rock Band DLC will be Nirvana's Nevermind... sans "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Come as You Are", and "Lithium". How stupid.

if guitar hero gets the three missing songs or kurt cobain as a playable character, i will never look at rock band again...until the price drops anyways...

Majed is pretty clearly a Guitar Hero fanboy. Speculating on the reason behind the missing 'big 3' from Nevermind by saying, "Guitar Hero, perhaps?". And now this post that actually is impressed with the 'amount' of DLC they have lined up even though the game isn't out yet?

You could argue that Rock Band 2 isn't even out yet and there are hundreds of tracks 'lined up'.

Well the 3 songs missing from the Nevermind album are by far the 3 most well known songs of the album and GH DLC is often only 3 songs so it makes sense to assume that Activision was maybe faster to secure the songs and leave EA only with the other songs from the album. Compared to the GH3 DLC it is indeed "impressive" that so much DLC is already announced.

For RB2 you could also argue that a lot those songs that are already out as DLC are already played to death. Besides if someone prefers one game over another then he can do it, like you apparently prefer RB over GH. You can`t compare the total amount of RB DLC with the amount of GH4 DLC, that`s like comparing the amount of content you get with a MMO like WoW including all of it`s patches and Add-Ons compared to one that`s just released.

I welcome the rising effort of making GH4 DLC compared to what they did for GH3.
