The review for "Shark Sandwich" was merely a two word review which simply read "Shit Sandwich".

Really? Whats with all the hate? Sure Wahlberg was a bit stiff and there wasn't as much action as i would have liked, but overall it was one of the better game-to-movie adaptations. The trailer is a bit misleading, it gives you a action oriented vibe, however the movie is story driven with a bit of action thrown in. The dark atmosphere, the setting with a very run down and dirty city with constant snow, the stylized camera work, the colours used for the movie, all give homage to the game. It stayed true to the game for the most part. Plus Olga Kurylenko is uber hot.

I saw this movie at midnight on friday. I honestly dont know what these reviewers are thinking. It was honestly VERY well made, and true to the game's story. Some parts did not match up too much, but it in the end it was for the good of the movie.

Ill admit it needed more dialogue, but all in all the best Game to Movie i've ever seen, and one of the better movies i've seen recently. How do they give Wanted (a craptastic movie) such great scores, and game this great movie such low scores.

Movie critics can go suck on one.

Needed more dialogue? The entire first half of the movie was simply Payne talking. And you want to know why Wanted got better reviews than Max Payne. Because even though it was a pretty stupid movie, it was fun. Somethiing Max Payne completely lack. Look I'm not saying that the movie needed to have every scene with Payne gunning down people, but jesus christ the pacing was so slow that it was ridiculous.

I thought the movie was very well done. I enjoyed it. It did suffer from a horrible ending however. This has been a recent trend in Hollywood lately. Everything was groovy until they introduced the marine character with the attitude problem. WTF? That shit was so weak it may as well have been played by Jean Claude VanDam.

The director never really made you feal the pain of getting shot or beat up. It was just there without feeling. The partner should have been fleshed out better and the roles should have been reversed for the assasin chick and her sister. Assassin character was useless and emotionless.

Even Ironman suffered from a crappy ending. Everything was great and charismatic until he fights the Abe Lincoln looking guy in the competing, bigger scarier suit. Asshats couldnt come up with a better ending?

I liked it myself.. it was a bit cheesy at times but otherwise it had sweet action. I think an R rating may have helped it a bit.

It was pretty damn solid movie. I was surprised that for the first hour or so they kept the action to a minimum, and focused on the story. The action scenes were kind of short, but they were extremely well done. The guns sounded loud and powerful, and the angles were effective in showing some nice collateral damage. Overall a pretty solid movie, and the best video game adaptation to date.

I was really, really disappointed with this Movie. This should have been the greatest video game movie ever since the source material is practically a homage to every action/revenge flick ever. It's simple. Max Payne fucks up the Mafia to find out who's responsible for the death of his wife and baby. That right there would have made a decent movie. But nope, hollywood somehow managed to fuck it up. I better be getting a Max Payne 3, or I swear to god there will be hell to pay.

I had seen a few trailers before going to see this. Didn't really research it, but I loved the games and figured I'd check this movie out.

In my opinion, the first half of the movie was great. It was a good adaptation of the game's main story arc and kept me interested. Then it started going downhill, fast.

I'm not trying to sound racist or anything, but casting Ludacris, or whoever, as Jim Bravura was a f*ckwit move. It took me out of the film completely. They also didn't build Bravura up as a character like they did in the game. Remove him from the movie and it wouldn't have changed the plot one bit.

Sadly to say, the same is true of Mona in the movie. I know she doesn't become a huge central character until Max Payne 2, but she really felt like a throwaway character in the movie. They introduced her as a cool character and went absolutely no where with her. When you have two characters that can be removed from the plot and not have any change on the story what-so-ever, that is bad writing my friend.

One thing I can give the movie credit for though is the action and cg sequences. The sections showing the Valkyries looked awesome, and the few bullet time scenes the movie had were also really well done. But while the action wasn't bad, there are plenty of films that do action better without having a piss-poor story.

"We're big fans of Mark Wahlberg"

Uhh, no you're not. Your brother/cousin/sister/father/ person with same last name/ gay lover who took your last name, Justin McElroy would disagree with the love for Mark Wahlberg.

Citizen Kane, this movie ain't. Nor is the The Seventh Seal, Schindler's List, or any of the other movies that critics will hail as masterpieces. It's simply a shoot-em-up flick that's actually pretty fun as long as you're not trying to glean the meaning of life out of it.

I know this is nitpicking, but I'd prefer seeing the name of the DEVELOPER (Remedy) rather than the publisher.

Also, it's no wonder the critics of established newspapers etc. don't like the movie. I've never seen them like kung fu flicks or stuff like that either.

I'll probably like it. Most people said Silent Hill and Hitman sucked, but I enjoyed both of those.

And for what it's worth, I also liked The Happening. Once you realize that M. Night was trying to make a big budget B-movie, the movie gets a lot better.

Nope, haven't seen it. It is one of those flicks that was intriguing, but also one of those films where I did really understand a sequel could come from...

Worth watching?

On a side note, I don't know why I just thought of this, anybody ever seen Deadly End? I downloaded it off xbox live and it's quite possibly one of the worst movies ever, ever, ever, ever made.

So the critics crapped all over it??? All the more reason to go see it...

I'm not going into the theater to see Max Payne expecting LotR. I want the general feel from the game, guns, and **** blowing up. That'll be worth at least a matinee ticket.

I like Mark (Four brothers, Planet of Apes, Italian Job etc)one of my Favorite actors... but this movie ..... is just so sad.. The Game Rocks of course, just not the Movie. And I thought I felt bad with the ending in Babylon A.D. ... now that movie is starting to seem better!

Say what you like about The Happening, but I thought it was one of the most hilarious movies of the year, and I honestly think that it was intended to be a comedy, for a number of reasons:
1. We know Mark Wahlberg can act (The Departed, Boogie Nights), but in this movie he is comically bad.
2. We know that M. Night Shyamalan can makes some fairly suspenseful and scary movies (The Sixth Sense, Signs)
3. There are lines from the movie that are clearly intended to be funny. "Cheese and crackers!" "Hot dogs are underrated." "Why you eyein' my lemon drink?"

If M. Night Shyamalan made The Happening as a comedy, as I suspect he did, then it is brilliant. If it was supposed to be a suspense thriller, then yes, it failed miserably. However, I highly recommend seeing it anyway, because it was one of the most entertaining films I'd seen in a long time.

If I'm not mistaken, these same critics are saying quarantine is good.......soooo, yeah

I saw it, it was good, not best movie EVAR but definitely best video game movie ever. It stayed true to the game, many shots I was shocked it was so close to the actual scene in the game (although the part where everything goes fuckballs in the game could have been done more....fuckballsy?)

The last I just saw this movie...the first hour and 40 minutes were slow...very slow, as in check my watch 3 times to see if it was close to over yet. My brother informed me that he checked his watch SIX times. I won't bore with all the draining details as they have been already, but the last 10 minutes... I have never laughed so hard in my life, too bad it's not a comedy.

That last 10 minutes made that hour and 40 almost worth it. Almost. Bodybuilders or anyone who's seen ANY form of ROID RAGE at the gym will understand what I mean by this. Also when he took the mystery blue vile...I couldn't stop laughing, add to the fact that he was in the 99% that went nuts and started down his nightmare trip, I have to say it was a bit entertaining.

Ouch..such harsh reviews.

I agree the trailer did look epic, but the trailer, to any movie good or bad, always looks epic so the public will travel to a movie theater and see it, raising the money made in the box office.

Reguardless of the reviews, I still want to see it but, I'm waiting until it's available at blockbuster.

i suspect the storyline for Max Payne is a lot more exciting when it's happening in the form of a video game... except for those few exciting parts that i already saw in the preview, it was a snoozefest www.kogmedia.com
