Street Fighter movie website launches, poster released

Based off of the single frame of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li that we saw at this year's Tokyo Game Show, we feel confident in issuing this ringing endorsement for the film -- it could end up being the second-best live action Street Fighter film to date. That's why we were excited to see that two new pieces of media for the movie recently cropped up -- an official website (which may just serve as the new paradigm for interactive online advertisements), and a poster, which we've included after the break.

Too lazy to make the jump? Here's a quick breakdown of the elements included in the aforementioned poster:

Streets -- Zero.
Fights -- Zero.
Canadian actresses whose resumes are largely composed of superhero-infused teen dramas who were perplexingly chosen to play brawlers of Chinese descent -- One.

This movie is going to be awesome, can't wait.

I don't mind her at all, and she actually has some Chinese heritage. But to be perfectly honest there is like 100 other young ladies that would probably been a better choice for this role.

Oh well, we'll see.

Having watched a few seasons of Smallville I can say that she is a terrible actor, and the inclusion of her in this movie just cements it's position as worst videogame movie ever.

I'm sure they had a good reason for not choosing someone who actually looks half Chinese.

I could tape my eyes back into slits, speak in a high pitch voice, and put on a wig and do a better job.

Her being picked to play Lana Lang (or however you spell it) despite being Asian was more of an odd choice than her being picked to play Chun-Li. There is no doubt that she can't act though, so I'm not sure why they went with her. Maybe she has thunder thighs?

Does she have a tumor in her thumb though?

But she's hot...we all knew the movie was going to suck no matter what, at least it has an attractive female in it. I guess the fanboys will all be lamenting the loss of mega-thighs, though.

Kristen Kreuk is hotter and a lot more recognizable than the millions of Chinese/Japanese girls that you guys claim could have played this part.

Not to mention she's an actual actress.

Now I'm not saying she's my first pic. She's not. There are other young girls who could have played the role who are actresses and well known.

However they chose her and that's that.

My only problem is that I think the movie will suck.

I liked the original Street Fighter though. You know the Jean Claude Van Dam version.

Woah, strait to The Undeath? That's almost impressive, in a horrifying way.

If it were up to me, I'd tap Olivia Munn. I'm just saying.

Why do I get the feeling that Chun Li in her "game" attire is going to be some kind of "moment" that gets built up to?

So am I gona spend the whole movie hoping to see one hadoken only to be sorely unimpressed at the end?

I think I may have to avoid this forever just to protect what few good memories I have left.

I, for one, would just love to see M. Bison -on wires- pull off that move. ...ya know... ...The one that looks like Luigi's green missile.

Uh... hate to break it to you but the movie is not going to include Ryo OR Ken.

Hey, I liked Kristin Kreuk in Edgemont.

It's not really all that perplexing at all that she was chosen to portray a brawler of Chinese descent when you consider that her mother is Chinese.

As bad as the Street Fighter movie was, it still had Raul Julia, and I'd watch anything with him in it. And I've watched "Overdrawn at the Memory Bank". *shudder*

But seriously, if no one went to see crappy movies, they'd stop making crappy movies. So I blame all of YOU for this train wreck.

And why did they get a white girl to play a Chinese girl?
