@JSut: I know your pain. My recommendation for going from PC to Xbox is to start at the beginning. In other words, go back to the first Xbox FPS that got it "right" - Halo: CE (available on the marketplace). Put it on easy, and just take your time going through the campaign.

Hmm, I've played Halo a bunch on PC, so maybe another old Xbox FPS would be a good idea. However, after a week of Dead Space I think I'm getting the hand of things. Whether I'll still think that when I meet a tough enemy remains to be seen :)

JSut: you don't have to adapt to a controller if you don't want to ;)

Don't you dare bitch about having to trawl through to find free stuff on the Marketplace. North Americans get way, way more than we do in the UK.

The only reason why the UK doesn't get free stuff is because back in the days you guys taxed us so much that it led to the revolutionary war where we tore ourselves out of your evil financial grip and now we live in a country of free dlc. You guys are now getting charged (taxed) for it. How does it feel?

No Taxation without Representation.

The increase in Tea Tax was the start of the end, but as you Yanks don't even drink the stuff I can't see why.

A good way to find free movies/clips I found was to sort the videos by most popular...I did that a found a free concert in High Definition for Finger Eleven, who is one of my favorite bands! People like free stuff!

Well considering the 360 plays divx/xvid I have always just used a jump drive or dvd data disc to watch "free" movies

Or stream "free" movies from your Windows PC. (annoying to have to un-rar them, but what do you think this is? An orignal XBOX?)

Maybe the NXE will have better filters for free content? That'd be sweet.

I think the entire berth of free stuff can easily be accessed in the "Game Videos" section of XBL Marketplace.

That is all. Scoot!

rainbow six vegas 2 was a good game for co-op achievements. there's the campaign mission completion achievements as well as achievements for doing said missions as the sidekick (player 2). there are also achievements for the terrorist hunt missions which can be obtained in co-op.

That game was awesome, especially in Co-Op.

Only gripe was the framerate issue on the Gymnasium section.

Thanks for the suggestions, but remember that we're talking about a "girl who is new to video gaming in general" and I'm not sure that Halo 3, Fable II, Gears of War or Rainbow Six are really going to be her type of game. Really, I think the problem is that the easier "kid" games that we play co-op simply don't carry the high production values and polished corners as those big titles. I guess in the end it was more of a little rant. I did find out later that at least with Lego Batman, if we played the entire chapter together in one sitting, she would get the campaign achievement for it.

If you are looking for a good co-op XBLA game you can't go wrong with Castle Crashers. My wife and I have been playing through it and really enjoying it.

Yes! Castle Crashers was great, and we found many, many gems on the arcade such as Ticket to Ride and Carcassonne.

Crap, for some reason it didn't post right... sorry guys!

I love Castle Crashers! I don't know if I want to level up my main character as high as possible or get everyone leveled up... I have the red lightning dude at 70.

I also have a female friend that only really plays karaoke style games but enjoys playing CC.

I went through the same thing with my girlfriend last year when we moved in together. The XBLA 3D Ultra™ Minigolf Adventures is a great one to play with non/new gamers.
