If you've spent a few hours building up a mass of gold in Fable 2 Pub Games for Xbox Live Arcade or earned in-game swag through the game's website, our compadres at X3F have created a video tutorial guiding you through the steps of getting the gold and items into the game.
Although unconfirmed, we've heard various sources say that those who cheated at Pub Games start the game with full corruption, rendering you quite hideous in appearance. Stay tuned all week to X3F for more Fable 2 coverage, including a guided tour of Albion.

I don't care whether it was Molyneux's plan all along or just some nice recovery, the full corruption for cheating is pretty cool.

Agreed, even if they decided after the fact it's still cool.
Of course I didn't cheat and so now I have to decide weather the items I won are worth starting with -$thousands to get....

I wonder if you get corrupted no matter what, or just if you transfer your gold/items over. The first would be a bit harsh I think...

I'm going to be rather annoyed if I get full corruption for accidentally using the cheat a couple of times. I have less than 5,000 so I think it's pretty clear I didn't use it on purpose
But it is a good punishment for those who did cheat, and not something that's totally irreversable either.

punishment? for cheating in a way that only affected their game? Are you serious? What the hell is so terribly and unethical about that?

It doesn't exactly only affect their game. For one it ruins the specialness of the unique items, having a lot of money makes it far easier to win the special pub games items, and also allows you to buy everything in the game instantly.
I worked quite hard to get my high roller coat and championship cutless, and I might spend a long time in the game saving up enough money to buy dye for them or for other items, but what's the point when someone else I meet online has just cheated to do exactly the same thing?
The bottom line is that they cheated, and deserve to be punished for that.

that's a load of bullshit. Maybe it ruins the specialness of the items for them, but they probably dont care. If anything it should make them more special for you since you actually did it. Punishing someone for something that really does only affect them, and minorly at that, is severely Draconian

I just merge my character from Fable 2 in the Pub game. No need for visiting the game master. Anyway, I cheated but it didn't alter my character appearance. I only cheated up to like 600,000 gold or so.

From what I'm hearing, the corruption is not from glitching, it is from gambling itself. You also get corruption points for gambling in Fable II, not just the Pub Games.
But if you have millions of gold like the big time glitchers have, you'll be super corrupt. I guess if you haven't won as much, the results won't be as noticable.

The items from the pub games and website are completely unique, you can't get them ingame otherwise..
Hopefully you can simply transfer them multiple times though, I don't see why we wouldn't be able to send the items over to a second character on the same profile. I really wouldn't want to have to play through spinner-box again either.

I can confirm as well. In fact, I got to the chest, it told me to go www.fable2.com and I did all 3 endings, reloaded my game (just in case) and all 5 objects were there.

I have trhe same problem with the furniture store message. I CANT MAKE IT GO AWAY even after resetting cache, reloading, resetting, anything.
Anyone know where the furniture store is? Maybe that will heal this crap?

You may have already figured this out, but when you merge your character from the Pub games (externally is how I did it), you get the gold instantly, but you have to visit the Game Master inside the game to receive your other items.
I found a roaming GM and played about 5 rounds of spinnerbox, exited the game and he threw all of the items at me at once.

Hmm strange. I cheated and got no corruption whatsoever!
To get my gold I simply used Pub Games to merge my characters, then in game I visited one of the games masters and collected all of my gold. Didn't use that room in the Hero Hub ever...

Not true. I started a character, no corruption. They were trying to cover their ass for a screw up. The weapons aren't that useful or the coat, the ring is a gift, blah blah blah. The money's nice, though.

Like Phelan said, I merged my character in Pub Games, got my gold right away & had no corruption.......
then again, I never patched my version of Pub Games so that could be it.....
