Massive Resistance 2 ad in LA features rampaging Leviathan
A ginormous ad promoting Cloverfield 2 Resistance 2 has taken over one of the buildings on Los Angeles' well-trafficked Wilshire Blvd. The building-board features one of R2's massive Leviathans crashing through the complex. G4 has some more images of the ad from different angles.
We strongly recommend not walking by this thing whilst on hallucinogenic drugs. Wait, what are we saying?! Nobody walks in LA.

No matter how hard sony tries, this can never beat GOW2.
Osman @ Oct 21st 2008 10:04PM
It makes all sense now!!! The monster from Cloverfield, came from LA!! How could I be so stupid.
Jacksons @ Oct 21st 2008 10:05PM
ROAR! Yeah, I can't wait.
POOLSCLOSED @ Oct 21st 2008 10:06PM
LOL, is that the South Korean embassy on the bottom? It looks as if Leviathan is trying to grasp the flag.
Zoot Suit Jedi @ Oct 22nd 2008 10:12AM
Koreans are tasty.
Just Mr ESC. @ Oct 22nd 2008 2:18PM
Om nom nom nom..MMMmmm Koreans.

80's music reference? Awesome.
Anyway, can't wait for R2!
brother.rope @ Oct 21st 2008 10:09PM
So..
LA with a Korean flag!?
zuburi @ Oct 21st 2008 10:37PM
Huh, I wasn't aware that they passed legislature outlawing all foreign flags within the US border.
Slaziman @ Oct 21st 2008 10:47PM
And even if there was such legislation, the embassy is considered Korean territory, and thereby exept from such a law.
H Choi @ Oct 21st 2008 10:48PM
You've obviously never been to L.A. before have you?
brother.rope @ Oct 21st 2008 11:30PM
No. I'm British!
riggs @ Oct 22nd 2008 12:45AM

Dammit.. covers blown! :(
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Oct 21st 2008 10:14PM
Is it bad that when I first saw that pic, I thought it was a Gears of War 2 ad?
offday @ Oct 21st 2008 10:16PM
No. I thought the same thing. A lot of people have said that the Resistance monster reminds them a lot of the locust, myself included.
Jacksons @ Oct 21st 2008 10:17PM
Well yes, being illiterate is a tad unfortunate. I kid! I kid.
stoik @ Oct 21st 2008 10:56PM
Neither. It's all about star wars http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rancor

Its face does look a lot like a Corpser's.
PSN: johnnynumber5 @ Oct 21st 2008 10:23PM
Funny thing is that I was hyped for Resistance 2 until I got into the public beta. Just doesn't feel like a big enough leap from the fist iteration. The campaign & co-op is where the meat & potatoes will be. The massive 30 vs 30 MP felt really bad. There was allot of bullet lag and there were many times that everyone bunched into one spot and it turned into a blood bath.
I won't be getting Resistance 2 until some patches are made or until there is a 10-20$ price drop. I think I will prefer to play Socom:Confrontation, Far Cry 2, Bad Company & Gears 2 for my MP shootouts.
Other than all that non-sense the ad looks boss hog.
J @ Oct 21st 2008 10:39PM
That's interesting considering that i care so little about regular multiplayer. It's the 8 player coop that i've been playing in the beta, that made this a MUST BUY. I'm so addicted to it. It sucks that only one map is available in beta for coop. I can't wait to try the others.
PSN: johnnynumber5 @ Oct 21st 2008 11:50PM
Yeah you are correct. The co-op is insane. The regular multiplayer was super weak. After playing the co-op it certainly made the game appealing. I just don't think its enough (for me) to justify a day 1 purchase. I don't want to sound that I am against the game or that I think it sucks. The fact is that there are so many good games being released I will be forced to make tough decisions.
Vcize @ Oct 22nd 2008 10:53AM
I'd be a lot more interested if the co-op worked in the normal campaign. Without the normal campaign I'm not interested in the story of the co-op campaign, and there's no way I'm playing through that long ass single player campaign by myself (given how much I hated the SP in the first one).
Ah well, I'll still probably gamefly it just to try out the 8-player co-op, story be damned. Do we still get to fight the Leviathan in that, or is that only in the SP campaign?
The Aggie CEO @ Oct 21st 2008 10:28PM
would been better ouf having a real leviathan sticking OUT of the building........maybe they shoulda just made a life size one and stuck it downtown LA putting its fist thru the building.....
The Aggie CEO @ Oct 21st 2008 10:28PM
damn that was suppose to be "better OFF" no 'ouf'
Osman @ Oct 21st 2008 10:34PM
someone's canadian "wood've been bedder ouf" hehehehe
&rew @ Oct 21st 2008 10:37PM
That was the coolest thing I ever saw, not counting Mythbusters, or any explosions, or anything science related, okay it was by far the coolest Sony related thing I've ever saw.
jonbo298 @ Oct 21st 2008 10:39PM
How is it working in that building seeing some small part of that all day when you look out the window, unless its transparent from the opposite side.
quasebrasileiro @ Oct 22nd 2008 1:28AM
It's like having a tinted window is all.
mezzanine @ Oct 21st 2008 10:44PM
Actually, we do a lot of walking in LA since we always need to park in the next city over.
Morisato @ Oct 22nd 2008 2:12AM
Often times when trying to find parking closer to work, I end up having to park on the other side of my house.
BigD145 @ Oct 21st 2008 10:46PM
What you're trying to say is, "Don't breathe the air in LA."
Mike Sylvester @ Oct 22nd 2008 12:49AM
I drafted the emergency procedures manual for that building! You can rest assured, if a Leviathan does start rampaging through L.A., the tenants of that building will be informed of where to flee in terror.
Lard @ Oct 22nd 2008 12:56AM
Nice 9/11 referencing after censoring a game for Muslims Sony. Bravo!
XLM @ Oct 22nd 2008 1:16AM
wow, that's quite a reach you got there....

They should have used orange glow in the dark paint for the eyes.

When I saw a commercial for this tonight I thought it was for gears 2. After enlightenment I was excited.
ThornedVenom (Harley Quinn Defense Force) @ Oct 22nd 2008 1:20AM
In LA, streets walk YOU.
Morisato @ Oct 22nd 2008 2:13AM
Wouldn't that be sweet? Just like at the airport with the conveyor belts
yoin_choco @ Oct 22nd 2008 3:18AM
Would be quite scared if I suddenyl saw this walking down the street. I can go for ghosts, but alien-like monsters... that's a different story.
But great advertising~!!! XD
PSNupe3 @ Oct 22nd 2008 2:15PM
I would love to get Resistance II but by PS3 just got the Yellow Light of Death

it's like a monster movie
JoeTheBlow @ Oct 22nd 2008 9:44AM
Man, don't remind me about Cloverfield, what a crock of shit that was.
As with War of the Worlds, i don't care about some random people, show the marines kicking monster ass for 2 hours and i'll be happier.
Vcize @ Oct 22nd 2008 11:23AM
So watch Independence Day and Godzilla instead?
Basically the same/similar movies, from different viewpoints.
