MS: Primetime will not make NXE launch

Speaking to Eurogamer, a Microsoft representative confirmed that the massively interactive game channel dubbed Primetime will not be available when the New Xbox Experience releases on November 19th. The MS rep also mentioned the possibility of a few other promised NXE features not being available day one of launch. Sad face.

Though, Microsoft is making it clear that Primetime and other features will be added to the NXE, mentioning that they'll have the "flexibility to roll out features and updates dynamically, unlike in the past where we were on a more biannual schedule." So, no prize winning Primetime on November 19th, but it'll come ... eventually.

Aw, that sucks.

I'm really interested in Prime Time. Does anyone think that Microsoft may charge for this? I read somewhere that you can win real-world prizes.

It seems like every week we are finding out more and more things that are NOT in the NXE. We have been waiting for this since its announcement in the summer but its starting to lose it's excitement. What happens if netflix isn't ready?

hm.. can't see primetime or Netflix being all that important.. I'll be too busy playing actual games.. since so many are comeing out in the next few weeks. I just want the dash, avatars & the installs for those disc-noisy games..

While I'm in complete agreement about the awesomeness that will be this holiday season (L4D, Fallout, Fable, GoW are on my must have list and I'm currenly on chap. 6 of Dead Space), I still wish Primetime (and Netflix) would be ready for the release. I live in a 1 bedroom apt with my girlfriend and after a couple of hours you start to feel guilty even though she says "no, it's ok, i'll just go watch tv in the bedroom" while i hog the living room.

I get my 360 to myself.. very occassionly, a friend wants to watch some Naruto, Bleach or something like that.. or I might watch a film.. though I get itchy thumbs.. Though I could do with a woman to keep me in check, she'd have to be a gamer too though, need to get the right one I'm 2!. but back on topic, I do see your point, hopefully any of the missing features don't take too long then for those that want them.. I personally have never used the Live film service, or netflix.. I'm happy with DVDs..
I can't see I'd use the primetime feature, ok I may have a go.. but I don't usually bother with online multiplayer even though I have gold.. but I do try to get round to it when my mate or new found brother is online.. still, Fable 2 & CoD4 will keep me occupied til Gears 2, I'm looking forward now to NXE - I have to wait a little longer for my games, being from England

So is Dead Space actually any good, or just good for EA *spit*..
(if it's like Resi 4 I won't like it, found it boring, the girl useless - I played the Wii version)

If things arent ready. That's fine. I only want things that are completed....Unlike some games now a days...(Merc 2!!)

Dont give me things that you can say, "Oh we will fix it with a patch" by the time the patch is out I'll be past it and on to the next thing.

I just am glad MS is willing to say, "sorry but not finished ATM"

Primetime sounds like a really cool feature. I'm looking forward to it but don't mind that it won't be in the update. As long as the 8 person party system/chat isn't removed I'm a happy gamer!!

I'm only interested in the game installs.

I hope those lame a$$ avatars are among the missing.They should at least add some cool ones like game charaters.I wouldn't them mind if I could have a necromorph or something equally as awesome,or let you upload your pictures to use for it,although there are probably too many freaks out there for the latter to work.We might get avatars with giant a$$es for heads or something.

I don't care about primetime, and thhey can fuck fucking Netflix, as this is the SECOND movie service for the US audience, here we don't even have freakin ONE!!!!!!!

So yeah but the rest still should be in :)
