Wow. Penny Arcade really put the screws to the XBLA people. Not that $15 is much better.

around 5 hours or so, but more time can be spent if you want to find EVERYTHING and perfect it. It's thoroughly enjoyable, especially if you enjoy the PA humor style.

My problem is that I love the Penny Arcade style and humor, but can't stand turn-based combat games, which I believe this is, right?

it is turn based combat to a point, it's kinda "active time battle" similar to the system in final fantasy 7, you have a meter that builds over time and when that meter reaches a certain point you can have an action(each character has an action meter), but the enemies meters will continue rising and they well make actions whether you do or not.

I played this game on the Mac, and thought it was worth the money. It was surprisingly challenging in places, and also a good deal of fun. I'll definitely get the 2nd one for the PS3, though, since my Mac is a rather old bird and the game ran kind of choppy.

now THIS is what i'm talking about. Looks like the folks at PA realize that if you're going to release a game months late on a system, the price needs to be lower. This is the exact reason why I'm not buying Bioshock or Eternal Sonata for the PS3 until the prices drop, extra content be damned. Day one for me.
