Rock Band 2's twenty free DLC songs revealed

Those of you that buy a new copy of Rock Band 2 are entitled to get twenty songs through a free DLC pack, available on the PlayStation Store on November 4th. The songs are quite surprising, covering a wide range of music styles.

The 88 - "Sons and Daughters"
Authority Zero - "No Regrets"
Between the Buried and Me - "Prequel To The Sequel"
The Cab - "Bounce"
The Chevelles - "Get It On"
The Cocktail Slippers - "Give It To Me"
Dealership - "Database Corrupted"
Endeverafter - "I Wanna Be Your Man"
The Ghost Hounds - "Ashes To Fire"
Hollywood Undead - "Young"
Kutless - "The Feeling"
The Len Price 3 - "If I Ain't Got You"
Lesley Roy - "I'm Gone, I'm Going"
Opiate for the Masses - "Burn You Down"
Semi-Precious Weapons - "Magnetic Baby"
Shaimus - "Like a Fool"
Thenewno2" - Crazy Tuesday"
Tickle Me Pink - "The Time Is Wrong"
Underoath - "Desperate Times, Desperate Measures"
X Japan - "I.V."

To get all these songs for free, players must input the unique product code found on the back of the game's instruction manual. Detailed instructions will be there.

Yeah same. But to be honest i've never really enjoyed the tracklists.

I'd love to see a game get more alternative ala Modest Mouse, Radiohead, As Tall As Lions, Interpol, Brand New, Sparta etc...

I would love As Tall As Lions to be on here. And I think they absolutely need Phantom Planet as well.

How did you think they were going to make them free? Clearly these bands are PAYING Harmonix to include their music in RockBand, as opposed to established bands, where Harmonix pay the publishers of the music.

Ok, just because of the X/Japan Song I'm getting RB2. I have that song on my iPod now and I'm curious to see how they did the song.

Kutless? They are a christian rock band and this is a christian rock song. Wouldn't this make a stirring of some sort?

They're just a rock band. They happen to be Christian with some religious but they're still a rock band. Some Christians do like rock and roll too

I think RB songs are a little bit too much "english" :)
I would love some French and German songs.

The original song was in English by X/Japan. The one thing I'm curious about is that sections of the song had a piano playing so I wonder if they left that in or not.

There was Die Toten Hosen a few months back. Pretty fun, though I butcher the German lyrics horrifically.

Couldn't they have made the songs, ones that people have actually heard of and/or listen to?

They're basically band promo songs. Their album/song sales will skyrocket once they're released cuz people will finally know the band name and at least a song.

Think about it. Would you have bought any of these DLC songs not knowing who any of them were? (Except if you're a RB DLC junkie)

WOW I'm not kidding but I'm listening to some X right now and I checked PS3Fanboy and was totally freaked out when I saw the picture as the first article hahaha wow.

This is exactly what I'm waiting for, simply amazing. Now to hope for Kurenai, Silent Jealousy, Rusty Nail & Weekend.

Oooh, hadn't thought of those. I was just happy because X/Japan made it as DLC here in the States. I always figured that if they released songs for the band it would be in Japan only.

I just signed up for this (like finished the survey and came here) and in band suggestions I put Between The Buried And Me. Funny. Excited to DL these in a minute though.

BTBAM is one the most talanted bands i have ever heard. They are so underated. Anyone who likes any form of metal go listen to there song "Selkies". the last 5-6 minuted are amazing. On topic though, underoath is the only band i have ever heard, this should be good promo for these bands.

Sure, they are free, but then it will add these LAME SONGS NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY into my random Setlists!

That's right, no one is making you take their gift. Don't download it.

In fact, they didn't even advertise this as an incentive to buy the game, so you have no right to complain about it.

The rest of us can enjoy a little variety (at the very least) once we've exhausted the more familiar setlists, and you can stay stuck in the world of Top 40 radio.

Harmonix's goal with RB was to get people interested and involved with music, not *just* for losers and their frat buddies to hear the same AC/DC track over and over in a new way.

Just out of curiosity, how many bands in this list did you listen to, And I can see at least one band in this free list that is better than any band they got for Guitar Hero: World Tour so far...and I mean band as in any song over any song.

with all the trash on that list, it's barely worth wasting time downloading

Actually some of the best bands in the world are farely unknown. Just becuase the label their on doesn't force them to change their music to become more "radio friendly" to sell better, doesn't make them any worse than their famous counterparts. Besides many famous bands today were underground before they got famous, sooooooo...

Also, you're bitching about free DLC that no one is forcing you to download. That's dumb. Get over it.

KUTLESS!! They are awesome. yes they are a christian band, which I don't mind, as I am a christian. For those of you worried about it, The Feeling is not a "Praise Jesus" song. Kutless has tons of great songs that are indistinguishable from mainstream music. Spirit In the Sky talks about Jesus while this Kutless song doesnt even mention the name of Jesus. Great to see Kutless on the list! other than that, I dont know any of these bands

Oh just shut your pie holes and don't download them. They're free. How many of the Bonus Tracks on Rock Band 1 did you hear of before you got the game?

Just picked up RB2 last night and have been havin a blast, 20 FREE songs... don't care what they are I'm not complaining.

Umm yeaaa I won't be downloading this, RB2 already has enough crap songs killing my randoms. I'm just glad they didn't make this mandatory. Of course that's prolly why they didn't include it from the getgo.

so then turn your ps3 off and shut up. no one's holding a gun to your head to play rock band 2, or download these.

Yeah,I don't think i'm going to even waste the hard drive space on downloading these.

I bought this game for my siblings, and the instruments are a piece of shit. One of the guitar frets broke right out of the box (I didn't do shit) and after browsing the Rock Band forums for a while, I found out that the Overdrive function via swinging the guitar in the air hardly works for a lot of people. This was a problem since Rock Band 1 and since then they haven't fixed it? Jesus..

Ugh, but I can't complain about the twenty free DLC songs since it's... free!

Any chance of The Aquabats! going on Rock Band?

Instead of being all knowing music pricks, why don't you guys listen to a few of the songs. It never hurts to try something new.

i know! and the songs are free, god damn, quit being whiny little bitches, some might be fun or challenging. They could have easily just not released any free songs.

I would love to do this but can you delete individual songs that you have downloaded?
