As if sensing our growing impatience, its size nearly eclipsing that of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix's elaborate title, Capcom has sent out an e-mail assuring -- nay, promising -- that the graphically remade brawler would arrive on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network "very soon."
And when is that, exactly? Well, perhaps it'll be out by the time you've finished perusing the twenty new screenshots, featuring Cammy, Zangief and Blanka landing high-definition blows, below.

Agreed.
I think I'm over the gimped HD Remix. Bring on SFIV.
Man, a year ago I wouldn't have believed I would say that today.

I really didn't care for the beta. Felt really clunky, almost more so than the original. Though maybe it's because I haven't played SFII since way back when, and have been mostly weened on SNK fighters and Street Fighter III, I just expect a little more substance. I'll wait for the console version of SF IV for my next Street Fighter fix.

It's not just the graphics; Sirlin's been devoting a lot of time to rebalancing the game, which is really unnecessary imo. Super Turbo is a fine game as is, and most people would be happy enough with ST with new graphics and online play, but Sirlin seems to think it's necessary to rebalance a game we've been playing for 11 years (and that's only ST).

I was gonna get this but I figure its taken too long to come out and now I'll just wait for SFIV since I already have the original XBLA version.

The weird thing is that this has taken so long to come out that I somehow assumed in the back of my mind that the game had already come out a long time ago. It must be that I was thinking of the OTHER Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. Outside of die-hard, professional tournament players who care about the esoteric re-balancing: even if one is prettier, do we need two of the exact same game?

Buy a Hori EX2; it's your best bet if you wanna play a fighter on the 360.

You're right. I don't remember it looking all angular like that. I think it was curved in the old game.

Great news, but i can't see myself spending too much on this. It would be great if it's $10, but anything over $15 is way out of the question.

What's up with the Cammy crotch / a$$ shots? I mean... wow, but... is that why I'm buying the game?
Ok. Yeah. It is.

How about coming out with a controller with a decent directional pad?

Buy a Hori EX2; I highly recommend it, especially if you're gonna get MVC2 and SF4 for 360 as well.

No, sorry, I SUCK with a regular-sized joystick. I desperately want a X360 controller with a SNES-pad. What good reason could MS have had to not include one?

with this + SFIV coming, it pretty much solidifies my decision to purchase the following: X-Arcade stick w/ PS2 adaptor, XFPS360.. a pricey commitment, but one that should be well worth it, especially since the X-Arcade can work on every other system as well

I highly recommend that you do not buy an X-Arcade stick; go on SRK and ask them what they think about them =). From what I hear the response on those sticks are God awful, and you're better off with a Hori EX2 for 360 or the HRAP3 for PS3.

looks horrible in my opinion, they should've hired some other guy to do the sprite work, it looks like a flash game

Damn it, Sirlin! I don't give a damn about "Remix Mode"; I just want ST with online play! No need to rebalance an 11 year old game!

Pretty buggy screens ... i mean ... look at Ryu's Leg/but/anatomy here http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-10-21-08/1110091/ or Cammy's shadow here http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-10-21-08/1110089/ (and yes, cammy has a shadow in this pic =P)

Would love to have and play this game, but it's absolutely useless without a good dpad.
And no, I don't want a joystick or a "special" controller that I have to swap out and use.
Is it too much to ask for a dpad that doesn't SUCK??? They supposedly already have one and yet released the red pad (which I would like because I love Gears of War) WITHOUT the improvement!!!
Sometimes I just don't get it. Are they trying not to waste their existing inventory of the old half cent dpads on these $65 controllers?

I played Street Fighter IV at Chinatown Fair in NYC last weekend.
After playing that...and then looking at this...I want to say "why bother?"
SFIV came out so much better than I could have imagined it. And here we have...Super Turbo.
I know they've been working hard on it and I kind of feel sorry, but after playing SFIV I feel like I can't go back.
