Trivia junkies will have a bit longer to get their buzzer fingers in shape (at least one part of you will be!) as Microsoft has revealed that Xbox Live Primetime won't be making it in time for the New Xbox Experience launch next month. According to Forbes, Microsoft says it needs the extra time to "ensure a smooth launch of the system's new user interface." Primetime won't be happening until springtime.
Poor NXE. First Primetime gets limited to four regions at launch, then we hear movie sharing won't make the date and now Primetime will be altogether absent. By the time Nov. 19 rolls around, is the New Xbox Experience just going to be a bunch of stickmen avatars wandering around an empty gray box? We certainly hope not.

Maybe it's for the better. We know virtually nothing about how it will work, aside from the basic idea behind it all. With that in mind, hopefully Advertisements won't make launch as well :)

I know joystiq's joking around, but at this rate the NXE will just be avatars walking around. It's like Sony and Microsoft are taking their competition to the next (sad) level, to see who can release something with as few promised features as possible.

And doesn't the Arcade SKU come with like...five free arcade games?

As bad as that game was, no it doesn't count. Something at least decent would have been nice.

Wow, first no Netflix sharing and now this? That's what happens when you have to rush a product to meet some holiday marketing schedule. This kinda nukes most of the purpose of having avatars for a while.
That's why I always though M$ should bundle in a "game" that let you mess around with you avatars that was separate from Primetime. Almost like the Mii parade meets Duck Amuck if that make any sense.
