Fable 2 reviews making Molyneux 'incredibly emotional'
Well, so much for our (admittedly flimsy) theory that the well-mannered Lionhead figurehead is secretly a robot. Peter Molyneux has told CVG that reviews for Fable 2, his long awaited RPG epic, have triggered an emotional response within him. "I found myself becoming incredibly emotional as I read peoples reviews and saw how differently the reviewers were reacting to Fable 2," he said. "I'd like to say a personal thank you to every reviewer out there for their patience and belief."
It's no wonder Molyneux has given the critics a thumbs up -- some ended up liking the game more than he did. And reviewing Fable 2 is no trivial matter, we'll have you know. "Fable 2 must have been one of the hardest games to review. The world is so big and the story and gameplay are enormous. How reviewers manage to distill such an experience into a few pages is incredible." Ooookay, you can stop now, Peter. We've already bought the game!

Just because you were at a half heart doesn't mean I passed on the opportunity to vote you down.
Just Mr ESC. @ Oct 22nd 2008 9:13PM
Yeah me neither.
Zorink @ Oct 22nd 2008 10:14PM
Just because chispito is at 3 hearts doesn't mean I passed on the opportunity to vote him up.
DiL @ Oct 22nd 2008 10:45PM
that was a superbad quote was it not?
Rob Accomando @ Oct 22nd 2008 7:37PM
Cool, maybe maybe Fable 3 core quest will take 15 hours to beat.
ben_man587 @ Oct 22nd 2008 7:38PM
It's nice to see developers that have passion for their games instead of just spouting marketing lines every time they have an interview.
5th hot meal @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:30PM
couldn't agree with you more.
Fare play and congratulations to you Peter, you are both influencial and (IMO) seminal in this field and you deserve all the congratulations and good will that you get.
Fable II ftw!!!
(not as good as syndicate though)
wiredknight @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:35PM
Well said.
WRE @ Oct 22nd 2008 9:17PM
Pretty words for a parasitic life-form used in every major attempt to usurp the authority of the Galactic Federation since 1986.
Go back to Zebes you energy stealing bastard!

I'm getting emotional over the fact that I can't afford this game until next year.
Mrblonde @ Oct 22nd 2008 7:59PM
Whoa next year? Lots of payments to make?
GenBanks @ Oct 23rd 2008 7:25AM
Same here, I don't have the cash for a 360... Hopefully the love will spread to PC so that we can get emotional too.
Leobebes (BDF: Braid Defence Force) @ Oct 22nd 2008 7:39PM
I bought the game yesterday. Got me some gypsy lovin'. Enough said.
Arnon @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:55PM
Check if you have an STD at the very bottom of the stat menu.. I did ;x.. I restarted my game rofl (wasn't very far in anyways)
Nevers @ Oct 23rd 2008 12:14PM
@Arnon
"wasn't very far in anyways"
LMAO
J @ Oct 23rd 2008 12:34PM
You've got to wear a jimmy-cap, bro.
&rew @ Oct 22nd 2008 7:41PM
I still think he needs a shock collar.
theturtle363 @ Oct 22nd 2008 7:42PM
I really love the game so far, the best part is seeing how the choices really do affect everything. I gave the guard warrants in the kids start and then that all that area's buildings are well to do when the main quest starts. The only problem I'm having is with my character, specifically the face. I still would prefer to be able to customize it myself instead of having it changed by my stats. The worst part is that you still get old really fast like in the first one. Oh well everything else is damn near perfect.
john paul @ Oct 22nd 2008 7:51PM
I didn't get old fast in the first one, but i went from like 30 to 50 in the mission where you *spoiler*(damn, do i really need to put that) help your mom escape prison. i was fairly young and when i leave im just like WTF!
theturtle363 @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:16PM
i learned that age in the first one was based on experience spent, and by my 12th play through i'd gotten very good at getting lots of experience, so I'd be 50 something years old by the time I beat the Witchwood arena. In Fable II SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT
when you go to the tattered spire in search of the hero of will, it takes like 10 YEARS away if you make the good choices which I did, now i get back and my hair is gray and I have damn wrinkles! And because of my physique level I have a ridiculous massive head and huge chin. Arghh!
john paul @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:35PM
SHIT, I read your spoiler thinking it was a fable 1 reference thinking "wow I never remember that" and then I went up and read it was fable 2.
Wow I forgot what you wrote thank god, all I remember is reading "squire"
The-E @ Oct 23rd 2008 10:46AM
I wish I could agree with you but I don't have a 360 and I really wanna play this game to see if it lives up to the hype and by the sounds of it you think it does!
P.S. Good on you Peter, for not letting the haters get you down and bouncing back. It shows true passion and dedication to your art and I commend you for it!!!
Jesse Parra @ Oct 27th 2008 1:47AM
I can't wait to go home and start playing. I need to make some more money so I can buy a bar.
LilTmac2003 @ Oct 22nd 2008 7:48PM
It's Ok Mr. Molyneux, we all get a bit emotional around games.
Fable II was, is, and will be great.
I don't want you to get more emotional, but I fully paid for the game back in summer to get the free Arcade games... I know, I know, it's Ok. Please, don't make this hard as it already is.
Solid Warri0r @ Oct 22nd 2008 7:49PM
He's proud of his work and that reviews are praising it. I'd be emo too.
Congrats Peter :D
knighty (GT: ZeraKnight) @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:18PM
I think it's good to see someone being emotional like this. It shows how much he's poured into this game and how much he wants the game to do well, instead of just making money (though I'm sure he'll be happy on that from too). Of course people will bitch though.
BananaBoat @ Oct 22nd 2008 7:54PM
I'm loving the game so far. Then again, I loved Fable 1, so it's not much of a surprise.
Also, anyone complaining about the "core story" being short, doesn't really understand this type of RPG. Games like Fable II and Oblivion etc, are about the experience, and all of the side quests...the main story is as long as you make it, and if you don't stop to do all of the interesting side quests etc, of course the main story isn't going to take a year and a day to complete.
That's my rant for the day. Fable II is not a JRPG, so don't expect some crazy psuedo-biblical story involving metrosexual dudes, with a 30 hour grindfest of a story.
Eggy @ Oct 23rd 2008 5:13AM
Fable is RPG light material. FallOut 3 will be a much better game for most RPG fans.
deaftly @ Oct 23rd 2008 9:38AM
Like you've even played it Eggy.........
Duke @ Oct 23rd 2008 10:11AM
Oh c'mon Deaftly, he doesn't need to have played it to know. In his mind it's available on the PS3, hence, it must be better.
ryan @ Oct 22nd 2008 7:55PM
Cool, now make a patch for your co-op guest to have his own camera! And get cracking on a true co-op experience for Fable 3 while you're at it!
Mrblonde @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:01PM
Own camera? Why would you want to watch someone else play?
ryan @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:06PM
no, players share the host's camera at the moment.
imagine couch co-op, except over LIVE.
MC Double Def DP @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:01PM
as the guest co-op I'm able to adjust the camera. I was a bit disappointed that my gf and I can't play our own characters together in co-op but it does make sense, since technically, we are the same character. And it keeps us as equals instead of my juggernaut character crushing everyone for her.
anyways, loving the game so far.
ryan @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:08PM
it's not free roaming tho.
Arnon @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:58PM
It has enough free roam.. the world of Albion in this one is so large you'll not even think of the free roam.
ryan @ Oct 22nd 2008 9:16PM
i meant the camera, it's not free roaming. meaning you have to share the same space with your Host.
Arnon @ Oct 23rd 2008 12:48AM
Yeah, but it's done like that for a reason.. it's pretty much a leash on your henchman so he or she doesn't run off and destroy your world.
Kellydude025 @ Oct 23rd 2008 1:21AM
Free roaming would be cool, you know what else would be cool?
Less free-zing...
I love the game but it keeps freezing when i hit Dash with a fireball, or crossbow...i'm gettin pissed happened 3 times now
ryan @ Oct 23rd 2008 11:47AM
It's just really annoying to constantly press the back button to keep up with the Host.
They could have done it like Halo and just teleport you instead of sacrificing full camera control.
killroy420 @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:13PM
Im getting emotional over the fact that this game only released on the Crapbox, which is the only system I don't own.
Hurry up and release on PC so I can pirate it already!
Gun Barrier @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:18PM
Im getting emotional over the fact that you fail at trolling.
Zachary Hinchliffe @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:21PM
calling the Xbox "Crapbox" isn't going to get you many points around here.
killroy420 @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:40PM
It may not win me points, but its my opinion so you both can suck it.
Arnon @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:58PM
Lol go fail somewhere else.
Gun Barrier @ Oct 22nd 2008 8:59PM
there was no opinion in that comment, unless you are referring to that lame nickname for the 360.
Just Mr ESC. @ Oct 22nd 2008 9:22PM
Trolling is a art.
Oh yeah and Killroy sucks c*cks for an living but who cares about him anyway?
Gun Barrier @ Oct 22nd 2008 9:28PM
Esc, u have have ur "a"s and "an"s all mixed up. My tongue is tied.
