I played fable 2 last night for 3+ hours with zero problems what-so-ever. Hopefully this is an isolated incident.

Pretty much the same for me. Played for quite a while and didn't have any problems with freezing. Didn't play online co-op tho. Is that maybe where the problem is happening?

My game freezes up every time I start it. I think it has something to do with the automatic "while I was gone" coin accrue. The minute I get the money, BAM!!! Frozen.

Odd cenario with Fable II. The older X-Box 360 (2 plus years old) froze up everytime I tried to load the game. However, the new X-Box 360 (Feb. 2008) did not have a single problem over the coure of 3 plus hours of constant play. Could be an age factor with the console.

I have a MAJOR freezing issue. To the point where I got RRoD!! I have replaced the disc, and done all the steps suggested, with NO luck. I guess, till someone decides to fix this issue, I have a $70.00 drink coaster near my dead 360 console!!

My son beat Fable 2 (with patch) with few if any freezes but he decided to create a new charactor and it started freezing at the beginning. He has made 4 or 5 new charactors and each of them experiences the same glitch. Cleaning the cd (brand new 4 day old cd) only gains a bit of advancement before it happens again.

We exchanged Fable II for a new disk because it was freezing up. We are having the same issue with the new disk and I know it is not the unit because we have 2 Xbox 360s and 1 is brand new Christmas and it freezes on both of them.

I've gone through 4 Fable 2s, trying a new disk and the same thing happens.
My game freezes up, and after a while, I don't even want to play anymore.

I really hope Lionhead fixes it, because it makes me really, really sad to have waited that long to play, and not being able to play without having to turn my xbox on and off. D:
And it's not my xbox because I just got it. I don't know what to do anymore, I just want my game to work. :/

A lot of people are also complaining that Saints Row 2 has freezing issues, but i'm been playing it for about seven hours and I haven't had a single problem.

I think that people who get freeze problems in games are people who play for too long at a time and let their 360's overheat.

thats not true. there are alot of people who have had issues with saints row freezing up. the were a couple of blogs on gametrailers about it. if a game freezes up it doesnt always mean its your hardware with its the only game that does it then its defintley the game. these days it tends to happen a lil too much bc game devleopers just want to get the game out there and they know that if it has issues they can always patch it later where as used to they couldnt do that.

I've had SR lock up on me multiple times. It usually happened after playing single player, then joining a co-op game.

Actually, I have had problems freezing. Yesterday I played for a few hours, turned the box off, and resumed playing two hours later. 15 minutes in, the game froze. I can't remember exactly what I was doing, I wish I could.

So many hours... not one freeze up. Online co-op seems a little buggy but even online there was never any freezing.

Experienced some weird slowdown in a cave full of Hobbes the second time I visited it though. Sounded like the disc was spinning rather erratically, but it cleared up after about 15 seconds.

Holy cow what a great game despite any issues!

I don't have the game yet but i sorta agree on that co-op thing. I would have wanted 2 heroes to play side by side and not just hero and a henchman.

Diablo 2 did it(8 years ago), Champions of Norrath for the PS2 did it (4 years ago) and Sacred 2 will do it next year.

I don't see how it couldn't have been done for Fable 2 (years after it was planned for the first one). :/

I played last night for ~7 hours and I didn't freeze one time. While doing some of the jobs, blacksmith and woodcutter, it lagged a little bit every time the bar came up on the screen which is a pain when you try to hit it in the area at the right time. But other than that the game ran smoothly and didn't lag. (k1ll stealer 411 was the account i played on in case you look and say "hey he hasn't even played Fable II!)

I'm experiencing the freezing issue. Brought the game home yesterday, loaded it up, was prompted to download an update; I did so. Game freezes at random points and locks up the 360.... first couple freeze ups I winced as it was eerily reminiscent of the RROD symptoms... BUT no error codes or error messages; I rebooted the system about 6 times in total and did not get very far in the game. The lockup didn't occur at the same spot, always in a different are of the game. very frustrated. Other games and dvds work fine in the system. Game disc looks ok, no visible scratches.

I had this kind of issues with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. First disc had problems, returned it, second had problems, and returned it too. I read in some forums where they recommended to clear the cache of the 360 (http://vgstrategies.about.com/od/xbox360faqs/a/ClearX360Cache.htm) as I had downloaded the demo. So I cleared the cache, got a third copy and it has been working great since.

Don't know if this applies, but couldn't hurt.

I haven't gotten on LIVE with it yet and I've had zero problems. So I'd bet that the main freezing issue has to do with the patch. Y'know, the one that I didn't download.

i thought my disc was wonky because it froze twice in the first 20 minutes of gameplay. the first freeze came immediately after the lady convinces us to buy the magic box, the second came after that douchebag shot my sister and i fell out his window.

The only problem I've had so far is that the title menu seems to act really strange - like being unresponsive then suddenly moving down a bunch of items.

It's quite plausible you know. Two of my work colleagues have had it longer - considering they received press release versions in order to review it.

And another has a modded xbox and he downloaded it - presumably a rip of one of the press copies.

It's a big world out there. There's always someone who gets something before anyone else.

I've seen some choppiness and mismatched audio/animation in a number of spots, but no freezing. I am tempted to clear my cache, and opt out of the patch to see if my experience is better. I only have a couple of hours invested anyway.

Nope. Been playing Fable 2 since the 17th, and I've had no problems with it freezing. Sometimes it'll lock up momentarily when achievements are coming up...but nothing that doesn't continue the game when it pops.

Bought the game yesterday and by girlfriend played for 4+ hours while I was at work, pre-update.

I got home, downloaded the update and I couldn't get more than 2 minutes into the game without it freezing and locking up the system.

My girlfriend comes home and starts playing the game (after I cleared the cache) and her saved game freezes up 5 minutes in.

Either way, I'm super pissed.
