Pictures say a thousand words. They really do. So having just one look at this new Final Fantasy Agito XIII scan should give you a better sense of what we saw back at Square Enix's TGS Closed Mega Theater [Click for trailer impressions].
That's right, the new scan shows off the in-game battle HUD. While still-images can't show off the game in motion, you can still get a Crisis Core vibe from the screens, can't you? Anyway, if you're having trouble seeing everything in the image posted above, check out the full size version here.

Isint this game like a year away from release? Why put scans out this early?

So apparently each person gets Attack, Dodge and two (presumably) customizable spells (the screen shots show Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, Cure and Ragnarok) that correspond to one of four buttons. Similar but different from Crisis Core.. In theory I think I like CC's controls more, but we'll have to see how this handles...in a year or so. ;P

Looks like battle system will be almost the same as in Crisis Core minus DMW and with three more characters on the battlefield controlled by either AI or other players in multiplayer. Sounds good. Erm I wonder what's this radar thing in the top-right corner for though. I also noticed that characters in FF Agito 13 have less individuallity in design than those in other FF 13's. That resembles the way characters were designed in first FF game, a nameless heroes wearing clothes representing only their classes. I wonder if that means that this game will have less focus on characters personalities. I hope not.

I don't see a slot reel.
This is good.
(Not that I HATED the DMW system, but I did hate wasting a good summon on an enemy I could take out by simply giving a stern look.....)
