PixelJunk Monsters, Encore updates on Oct. 30
Q-Games isn't reinventing the wheel, it's just slapping on a new set of tires, as PixelJunk Monsters and Encore expansion updates hit PSN next week. The October 30th patches will add Trophies and variable difficulties (including a "casual" mode), as promised, but the free upgrades don't stop there. In addition, the tower selection menu will be tweaked (with an option to set the default action), the Ice and Tesla Towers will be re-balanced for the original island, custom soundtracks will be supported, and YouTube uploading has been added (up to 10 minutes of gameplay -- videos can also be stored in the XMB's video folder). Now, about online co-op ...
If you fancy another go with these exciting details -- only this time in Dylan Cuthbert's drab British accent -- then by all means, head for the video preview after the break!

Also, probably one of the most important points with a game as frustrating as this... these trophies ARE retroactive.
Kodros @ Oct 22nd 2008 3:26PM
Actually, they're not.

Cool! That's a good reason to play some PixelJunk Monsters again.

Wow, me and my woman played the crap out of this. Can't wait to get back into it.

Any excuse to go back and replay Monsters and its expansion is good. Hell, I've gone back and played them with no encouragement at all.

The game is damn hard and frustrating. Glad to hear the difficulity has been dropped down a notch. Maybe I will actually be able to beat it now.
It's damn fun and addicting but insanely difficult.

Thank christ.
I'll happily replay this from the start after hitting a complete wall in the difficulty halfway through.
"Casual" mode sounds good.

had this game since it launched cheaper for the first week and had a difficult time reading the screen so i thought thats why i sucked. was wishing i had waited for the demo but at least i got a good price. turns out i just suck but i got encore for buying eden and the free trophy patch is coming soon. i don't even have trophies for eden yet and i've gotten further than monsters so who knows
SoCoolCurt (PSN: KillaKornbread - XBL: SoCoolCurt) @ Oct 22nd 2008 5:57PM
Eden is much easier than Monsters IMHO. i have both and im on like level 6 in Eden but i cant get passed the dammed second level in Monsters. the Easy mode will be welcomed with open arms here lol.
j.howlett @ Oct 22nd 2008 6:29PM

j.howlett @ Oct 22nd 2008 6:44PM

Titanium_Orchid @ Oct 22nd 2008 7:24PM
I've collected all 50 jiggers in Eden, and have unlocked all the seeds up to level 7.

Great news. Whilst the game is difficult yes, it just requires perseverance, and its SOOO satisfying when u get it right and get that damn rainbow!
Mr Fujisawa @ Oct 22nd 2008 4:45PM
win

Difficulty adjustment is very much needed. It was a little awkward playing one level that was absolutely brutal, only to play the next 2 levels and plow them both on the first try.

Custom soundtracks!!!!
