PixelJunk Monsters, Encore updates on Oct. 30

Q-Games isn't reinventing the wheel, it's just slapping on a new set of tires, as PixelJunk Monsters and Encore expansion updates hit PSN next week. The October 30th patches will add Trophies and variable difficulties (including a "casual" mode), as promised, but the free upgrades don't stop there. In addition, the tower selection menu will be tweaked (with an option to set the default action), the Ice and Tesla Towers will be re-balanced for the original island, custom soundtracks will be supported, and YouTube uploading has been added (up to 10 minutes of gameplay -- videos can also be stored in the XMB's video folder). Also, probably one of the most important points with a game as frustrating as this... these trophies ARE retroactive.

Any excuse to go back and replay Monsters and its expansion is good. Hell, I've gone back and played them with no encouragement at all.

The game is damn hard and frustrating. Glad to hear the difficulity has been dropped down a notch. Maybe I will actually be able to beat it now.

It's damn fun and addicting but insanely difficult.

I'll happily replay this from the start after hitting a complete wall in the difficulty halfway through.

had this game since it launched cheaper for the first week and had a difficult time reading the screen so i thought thats why i sucked. was wishing i had waited for the demo but at least i got a good price. turns out i just suck but i got encore for buying eden and the free trophy patch is coming soon. i don't even have trophies for eden yet and i've gotten further than monsters so who knows
