Sony working to return Mortal Kombat II to PSN
Mortal Kombat II inexplicably fell to the bottom of The Pit a few days ago, disappearing completely from PSN and from download lists of those who have purchased the game. At least it appears your suffering is finite: Sony tells 1UP that it's "working diligently" to get the game back up on the service.
So what's the problem? Sony says "A Mortal Kombat II specification is being upgraded in connection with the release of the latest firmware update." If you don't speak public relations, that's code for, "We have absolutely no idea what happened."

The last good Mortal Kombat game and the best MK game.

IYO of course.
MK3 FTW! ;)

If any game deserves an HD remix, it's this.
Is it just me, or does anybody else not think it's worth paying full price (£40) for a fighting game? I haven't bought one in years, and until they're around the WipeOut HD pricemark (£12), I'm not going to.

100% agree
I bought each and every MK after II with the exception of MK 4 GOLD. expecting better..... but it never came.....
The others were fun but they dont live up to II.

I think an HD version of the old MK would result in loss of emotion in the game.
There is something that I absolutely love about the graininess of the old games.
and yeah, MK3 I would have to say is more fun

Doesn't MKII look fine already? I mean they're digitized characters, i don't know what else you could do to them other than 3D models. If one of those older games needed a graphics upgrade, it'd be MK3, but i can't see them bothering with that, considering it was a turd to begin with (yes fenix, my opinion ;))
As far as the PS3 MK2 goes, i love the game, but menu system is hideous, and the art in the XMB for the game is straight up laziness. And why is the sound is so damn loud?
DangerMouse @ Oct 22nd 2008 4:26PM
What's the hold up? Unless the records of people who purchased it were completely wiped from the system, then i can understand that. But I'm betting they just want to update at the same time as everything else, and it will probably be back tomorrow.

The sound is all fucked up since the firmware update.

Urgent message to Sony - My friends and I were playing your great new game 'Mortal Kombat II' when we heard phrases from the Holy Book of Video Games in the background. For your reference the phrases'Kung Lao wins, Flawless Victory.' and 'You will die, Mortal' were clearly audible in certain stages. As I'm sure you're aware we gamers consider these phrases to be the actual word of Shere Khan, and as such must be removed from this game. I hope you appreciate me bringing this to your attention and I thank you greatly for this otherwise fantastic game.
