i'm loving this game. the open-endedness of it is second to none. it really shines when you begin sniping and get a silenced weapon or two. its soo satisfying to plant an IED for oncoming convoy, blow the main truck to smithereens and then snipe the guards in the other trucks. even when i die and try a mission again it always plays out different since the weapons allow you to utilize a different strategy. the sense of immersion is what really makes the game for me.

between this, fable II, and then fallout 3 next week...wow, three huge games that many a hour can be sunk into with ease.

Since this is an American site and there are multiple Toronto's in the USA the correct style is to write Toronto, Canada.

how is this an american site? It may be owned by an american company, but said company (AOL) also operates in other countries, not to mention its a .com address, not .US. There may be Torontos in USA (small unknown towns) but there are deffenitly no Toronto, Ontario's down in the US

Furthermore, lets give some credit to our neighbours down south. Im pretty sure they are smart enough to know what country is being refered to when they see Toronto, Ontario or lets say Vancouver, British Columbia, etc etc.

sure, I think the map editor looks amazing, but am a little dissapointed at the class based system because it limits the design of mp maps since various areas of the map may go unused due to no purpose of explorering them. No items either, just some ammo creates are placeable.

Farcry pc also was clased based multipalyer, but at least they had some cool repair and assult gametype. It looks like they fell a little short on this game, however I will probably still end up buying it cause i love map making so much. I just dont think it will last me more then a couple months when FC:IP lasted me a year with its map editor.

Xav, I just want to make sure, you hold down the left trigger to aim, right? I hate games where you have to click the right thumbstick, dunt kno why...

I just got this game yesterday. To say the least, its amazing. My only gripe is the annoyance of having malaria. The open world is so huge, i'm rendered speechless. Everyone should at least play it. the world is bigger than gta4 and is all available right from the beginning. I've never played a game that is so immersive. Quit thinking about it, and pick it up! ps, I've been playing it on my 65in 1080p t.v. so I kinda understand what you guys got to do.

The story has been reworked too %u2013 in fact, abandoned. The mutants and genetic semi-science of the first has been turned into a gritty and harsh tale of mercenary life. You%u2019re now a mercenary operating in a very unstable region of Africa that is being wracked by the fitful throes of civil war. You%u2019re there to kill a man who calls himself The Jackal, an arms dealer and war profiteer who is prolonging the conflict and supplying weapons to both sides in order to keep business up.

"Controls will immediately feel familiar to players of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare"

I'm in love with this game already. CoD4 has easily the best controls for a FPS (console).

I played Far Cry 2 a little bit yesterday(Fable II is so damn addicting) and so far it's really good. The graphics are outstanding. The controls, like Xav said, are close to CoD 4 controls. Weather affects are great. When you start a fire and see the wind just make the flames bigger and more brutal. The multiplayer is pretty good as well. The only thing that I have to get used to is the driving aspect of the game.

Totally! They've just been thin little alpha textures with a waving animation for years! The new Tomb Raider actually has plant interaction with her brushing branches and shrubbery aside. So that's something heading in the right direction there! *nerdgasm*
