Beautifully done. 2K and Epic really know how to make some great trailers. I can watch those over and over again.

Agreed. I've seen that trailer multiple times and it's amazing each and every time.

Does anyone know the name of the song that's playing during the teaser? It's a really nice song.

I'm sure that It'll be a timed exclusive for the Xbox360 for at least a month or two.

Not necessarily - the original hit PC and 360 at the same time because it was a bit of a sleeper hit - nobody expected it to do as well as it did. Therefore it wasn't assigned the proper budget and so during the original development they didn't have the resources to make a PS3 version.

Now that its a franchise, I imagine it'll hit all 3 at the same time unless Microsoft decides to pay up.

All I could think of was something along the lines of, "Introducing a friendlier, happier BioShock! Now with butterflies and sunlight!"

That said, I'm at work and didn't have sound on, so I might have missed something.

they can really take this into some twisted territory...like a girl going back to get her Big Daddy...like she's in love with it...

I mean...they were humans, weren't they?

Yeah, but they didn't have a specific Big Daddy did they? I seem to remember it more being that Big Daddies protect Little Sisters in general, not specifically.

But they could change that if they wanted to I guess. I'm not sure how I feel about this as a franchise, though. I'd like it if Rapture continued to be mostly mysterious without being tarnished by expanding stories.

That said, I'm completely shameless and would likely buy the sequel on day 1 because, aside from that weirdly poor quality ending, I completely loved BioShock.

While I can't comment on SS2, I will say that Bioshock was a great playthrough. It has what I consider the best first 'level' of any game. Unfortunately it slows down in the final quarter.

While SS2 had me saving every second, Bioshock didn't. The respawn caps made the game a bit easier on the harder difficulties.

However, I think Bioshock did SS justice, as it was a "spirital successor" to it iirc.

It seems like the story is going in a good direction - either a sequel or a sidequel.

Leave the prequel to BioShock:The Book.

Annnnnnd here comes Microsoft digging into their infinite-deep-wallet to guarantee more sales for their console.

It seems kind of ridiculous for Bioshock 2 to be a timed exclusive deal again considering that the announcement first appeared on the PLAYSTATION 3 version.

I'd rather it be done for ps3 then the other two. I'm not a big ps3 guy, it's just that it's a more unique machine. Think of it this way, if a game works nice on a gameboy, you should see how well it runs on the DS. ;)

Uhh what? How is it much more of a "unique" console? It's essentially the same goddamn thing as a 360, just with a few extra bells. And besides, games like these should be multi-platform and not for only one console.

Your last statement is unfair and ignorant. Do to what graphic archetecture and type that the PS3 has in it, it has trouble doing both HDR lighting and AA in games. The 360 doesn't have that problem.

So what were you saying about a gameboy to DS comparison?

Vegeta -

I think he was being sarcastic.

I do think the PS3 is a more unique platform when compared to the 360. Maybe he is saying if it were built from the groundup for the PS3 they could play to its strengths instead of trying to simply make both version equal.

Both consoles can have an equal end product but right now the PS3 can do a little bit more with the built in functionality. Maybe the 360 can also do the youtube uploading from within the game but that is just one small example.

I don't want a fanboy war. Let's just leave it at both consoles are good and Bioshock 2 will be equal on both.

He's not being sarcastic - I'm British, I know these things.

Also, I think part of what you're trying to say is that the PS3 is better than the PC in terms of power?

It's true that a PS3 game *can* look better than a 360 game but this requires seriously skilled developers. But seriously, at this stage the PC is so far ahead it leaves Killzone 2 looking dated.

In order for a game to run perfectly smoothly on the ps3 it requires more complicated and beneficial programming work. I wasn't saying the PS3 was a gameboy and a 360 is a DS in terms of power. I was just using that as an example. I'm just saying that a perfect 60 FPS game on ps3 will be much easier to get going 60 FPS on the 360.

Yes, but will the Gameplay actually be decent this time around? i heard the story for the first was awesome, but i couldn't plow through the crap-filled gameplay. Seriously, its no fun if the idea is to run full bore at a Big Daddy just so u waste your ammo and mana and then die, so u can use the little mana they give you back and do another suicide run...

Agreed with Vegeta. The game had a lot more tactics to it, you know.

I'd usually use a mix of electric bolts, water, anything that explodes, fire, heat seeking rpgs, and then a good old electro bolted shotgun blast to the face to kill ONE.

Yeah, WTF? Try strategy next time. I'd often watch their path and then lay some mines. Then the second they would walk into the mines I'd hit them with some sort of electric weapon.

Oy... Crysis requires a LOT of strategy, but it doesn't mean wasting 5 magazines on a single target. Also, at any given time, i have at least 3 options of playing through the game. I can sneak through, I can blow through, or i speed through, or however, or any combination of that. But in Bioshock, when i meet a big Daddy, and im in a back room, i have to pump him so full of lead... that i run out of ammo, i run out of mana (or eve, or adam, or w/e its called) and i have to die so i can come back. If it gets positive reviews and i hear maybe something about a change in gameplay, i might just pick it up for PC this time. But I was NOT impressed with Bioshock. I wanted to be, but i wasn't.

I didn't know the Bioshock fanclub was holding a meeting today. Crysis and Mass Effect own Bioshock!

I don't have a computer good enough to play crysis but my brother does and I have played most of it at his place. It's an amazing experience and the prettiest game ever.

Let the guy have his opinion. If you want to disagree then disagree but there is no need to belittle the man.

With all of that said I also loved Bioshock.

p3713, it sounds like you just fought the first Big Daddy and gave up from there. The first one is pretty early in the game, so if you fight it then it is more of an attrition thing to pump it with everything you've got (you should be running AWAY as you do it though, not towards it, that's just stupid). However, once you start getting more weapons and plasmids, it really developes into a full-on strategic battle if you want it to. Also, you realize the Big Daddy's won't attack you if you don't attack them first, right? So you can ignore that first one until you have the weapons/plasmids to be ready for it.

You're getting a lot of flak here because the whole point in the Big Daddy fights is that you can fight them in one of a million different ways, perhaps moreso than any other enemy in any other game ever. You can enrage one Big Daddy to fight another one and then mop up the leftover health of the winner. You can set a trap of mines and trip wires in a hallway, and fire at the Big Daddy from a distance so he runs through it. You can hack some turrets and security cams and then trigger the Big Daddy so he's basically fighting an army alongside you. You can lure the splicers in to fight the Big Daddy at the same time you do. You can lure the Big Daddy into water and then electricute him.

Again, you're getting a lot of flak here, but it's well deserved. The whole point in the Big Daddy's is that you can fight them in a million different ways, but you're reducing it to the only way being charge in, die, and repeat. You could say what you're saying about a LOT of enemies in a LOT of games, but the Big Daddy's in Bioshock is one of the least fitting examples in any game ever. It just doesn't make any sense.

And FWIW, I got creative with it and was never killed by a Big Daddy, even on the hardest difficulty.

It really, really sounds to me that your problem with the game is merely that you can't run and gun and kill everything in sight like your used to doing in other FPS titles. I mean god forbid that you have to use a bit of your brain to get past an enemy.

Im Sorry, its just that, that early in the game, and to move on, that was the ONLY thing i could do. i was in a back room and couldn't do anything else. Then i moved on to the next level, and there were two more RIGHT THERE. I tried moving on, and i couldn't. Im not sure i deserve ALL of this flak, i just didn't like the gameplay. There is also another thing, idk if it makes a difference or not, but i DID play it on the 360, and idk, nothing really worked for me, the gameplay wasn't fun. So, i will PROBABLY give the 2nd a try, but i think it could use some gameplay tweaks. Im normally a strategic guy, but in that back room i was in, there was NOTHING ELSE i could do. and i didn't HAVE any mines or anything. I was a punk who wanted to move on to the next level. i didn't have ANYTHING.

Also, i resent the fact that you claim i don't use my brain to solve these puzzles. I hid in a door while a splicer walked past it, i came out and shot the splicer in the back of the head with a shotgun and it wouldn't die. That was a bit of strategy. Wait and shoot 'em in the back. ("just like John Wayne would do...") BUT IT DIDN'T WORK. So thanks for calling me an idiot. For the Record, Portal wasn't even a challenge for me. But maybe its just a stupid game for stupid minds.
