Mega $350 Xbox 360 holiday bundle at Sam's Club
If you're looking to get an Xbox 360 this holiday and aren't concerned about having the latest M-rated games, Sam's Club (Wal-Mart's warehouse retail chain) has a big ol' bundle available soon. Members will be able to purchase a 60GB Xbox 360, Lego Indiana Jones, Kung Fu Panda and Guitar Hero III (with wireless guitar) for $350. We contacted the company to double check that it wasn't a typo and, sure enough, we were told it was accurate. The bundle should start arriving in November-- there's no specific date for it being in stores, so call ahead.
While we're talking Sam's Club, we've also been told all Guitar Hero III bundle prices have been reduced (we've placed details after the break). We were also informed that the store, along with Wal-Mart, will have a limited edition "dragon" controller (no picture currently available), bundled with a black headset, for $60. We'll keep an eye out for other deals as we approach the holidays.
Update: Adjusted text for Lego Indy and Kung Fu Panda being offered with the standard system.
Guitar Hero III prices at Sam's Club:
$37.33 - DS Guitar Hero on Tour.
$69.66 - Wired 360 bundle.
$71.77 - PS2 Mayflash bundle, PS2 Aerosmith Bundle or PS2 bundle.
$79.88 - Wireless PS3 bundle, 360 Bundle or PS3 Aerosmith Bundle.
$89.33 - Wired PS2 guitar two pack.

Please, don't feed the Wal-Mart.
Erluti @ Oct 24th 2008 12:31PM
Sounds like someone doesn't like low prices.
I bet you shop at Gamestop.

I'll never understand it, Wal-Mart is just a store, it is not a monster, it won't come out of your closet at night and eat you legs first.
Where do YOU buy your toilet paper? Does that store exist to give vaccines to third world countries? or does it make money?
Dirty @ Oct 24th 2008 1:10PM
Walmart is a monster. It has employee policies which are used to work people as much as possible while offering as little benefit as possible, but thats ok because they pass the savings on to you.
This country needs to have more informed consumers. I just dont see it happening....
BPMOmega [gamertag] @ Oct 24th 2008 1:21PM
Yeah, uh, while all corporations are evil, Wal-Mart is the worst of the bunch. Don't feel like going over this again, so just search Google or whatever for Wal-Mart controversies.
Killjebus @ Oct 24th 2008 1:25PM
Six of the richest people in this country are family members at Walmart. They are also Palin like ultra right wing Xtian fundies that as you know preach INtolerance and the end of the World (doomsday cult) in thier lifetimes.
Each of the six family members are worth between 6 and 15 BILLION dollars, EACH ONE. They have given countless millions to the FAR right wing Rethugulans that have RAPED this country for decades.
And yes, they shit all over their employees. My father in law was VP of an Investment Firm in Boston and he invested money for the Walmart family among other uber rich people. He QUIT his job making about 400K a year because he could not stand dealing with these people, ESPECIALLY the Walmart family.
This is a good deal and I can understand why anyone who would want a 360 to go and buy it. Whether we like it or not, this families company is the LARGEST retailer in the World and unless millions of us stop shopping there, they will continue to make billions.

Save it for DailyKOS.

xtreme- wal mart is not the problem..
it is the consumer..
if we want a cheap product that doesnt last and end up costing us more in the end that is our fault..
there are still stores that stock quality goods, however quality has taken a backseat to quantity and price.

It's a free country, people can run their businesses the way they want. Their responsibilities are to themselves and their shareholders, not your sense of ethics.
If people working there think they are being treated unfairly, then they can use walmart's tuition assistance program to get schooling for another job.
Keep in mind, whenever a walmart opens, they have to beat applicants looking for jobs back with sticks, so I guess everyone doesn't share your elitist "this is how the world should run and any deviation will not be tolerated" worldviews.

Sounds like a great deal, but there already is a Holiday Bundle out with the 2 games for $300. So, you're paying an extra $50 for GHIII.
Strike Man @ Oct 24th 2008 12:29PM
Yeah, what he said. :o
xFenixKnightx @ Oct 24th 2008 12:24PM
BaBOOM!!!
Strike Man @ Oct 24th 2008 12:26PM
How is it "over $100 savings" when the standard 360 Pro bundle already comes with Lego Indy and Kung Fu Panda for the holiday season?
They're adding GH3 for an extra $50, instead of the $80 they're selling it for separately.
Duke @ Oct 24th 2008 1:07PM
Just because the pro system comes with the other games for the holiday season it does not follow that those titles no longer have a value and you only look at the GH part of the deal. You still are getting all those games with this bundle, which would cost you much more to buy them on their own.
Vidikron @ Oct 24th 2008 1:11PM
Maybe they're calculating that against the cost of buying 60GB and those two games separately. The other bundle already represents savings itself, so this would be additional savings.
Strike Man @ Oct 24th 2008 1:23PM
I wasn't attempting to claim that the two titles held no value (in fact, quite the opposite), just that this new Sam's Club bundle wasn't such a fantastic deal above and beyond the bundle that Microsoft is offering at every retailer this season. Yes, it is an added value at a lower cost to the consumer, but the "over $100 savings" part, while technically accurate if you compare it to the non-bundled 360 Pros, might be a little misleading to some.
Either way, the original post has been updated to reflect this.

I'm still waiting for the Jasper motherboard 360 to appear. Crap, hopefully they'll emerge from the Holiday Bundles that I'm lurking over on Amazon.com
Zeus.:God @ Oct 24th 2008 1:02PM
...
Jasper has been out since September.
GearSecond!! (a.k.a AwesomeStuff) @ Oct 24th 2008 1:04PM
There hasn't been any proof of that as of yet. Falcons are still there. The bundles (and price drop) were to flush the Falcons out.
Vcize @ Oct 24th 2008 1:53PM
Doesn't hold a candle to the recent Fry's bundle, which was $350 for the 60gb pro console, Lego Indy, Kung Fu Panda, and then THREE of Pure, Star Wars: Force Unleashed, CoD4, Soul Calibur 4, Saints Row 2, and a couple others.
sk8monroe81 @ Oct 24th 2008 2:27PM
looks like microsoft and nintendo are taking the cake again this holiday season....
price drop and many bundles availabl.
GREAT holiday bundle for a christmas/holiday gift for a kid. considering the 60gb alone is $ 299.00 this bundle is a good deal.
Teh Lup @ Oct 24th 2008 2:40PM
I have on my desk - a $300 60gb 360 bundle with Lego Indy and Kufu Panda.
Many non-gaming focused vendors are selling GH3 for $50-60.
So this a 'good' deal if you consider distance traveled and a few bucks 'good.'
