There's been a number of pleasant surprises that have come out of Treyarch's upcoming installment in the wildly lucrative Call of Duty franchise -- such as the inclusion of Jack Bauer, and its uncanny resemblance to the previous, well-received chapter in the series. However, last night's episode of GameTrailers TV brought another shocking (yet welcome) revelation, straight from the mouth of Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia -- Call of Duty: World at War will contain a four-player, co-op zombie (of the Nazi variety) survival mode.
Those who currently aren't busy scraping pieces of their blown mind off of the wall behind them will probably be interested in a few details Lamia mentioned -- the gameplay mode (which is unlocked upon the completion of the single player campaign) will place four players in a central structure, then assail them with wave upon wave of undead national socialists. Throughout the game, players will collect money which can be used to fortify their compound, or purchase new weapons. Also, there will be Nazi zombies.
Stoked parties can catch a glimpse of the SS Zombocalypse in Chapter Four of last night's GTTV episode, now available online.

Ok,
This started out as an inside joke and they devs wound up playing it so much that they figured they would just toss it in as an extra. My friend said it was by far the most played mode by all the devs... it was so developed by the time they got sone that it was only in need of some tweaking to make it an actual game mode.
The other thing that people don't seem to know and is so similar to 95 percent of people that make judgment calls without knowing jack about the situation is that treyarch is bound by an agreement that they can't make any COD game post 70's.
So they needed to finish up the WWII series as far as they could before moving on.Their next installment is not WWII.
Blame Infinity Ward for stalling any innovation on Treyarchs part.
Treyarch has essentially been forced to be the bitch to Infinity Ward.

Oh God... zombies in a CoD game? And most of all, Nazi zombies?
Ah, I think I'm gonna have to buy this game now. Damn ye folks at Treyarch for exploiting our fandom of zombies! I can hear the cries of my smaller-than-average wallet right now because of this!
*Pats wallet* There, there...

More dehumanization of the Germans by WW2 developers.

"I'm only saying this because Call of Duty has always had a historical backdrop as it's basis, and this is such a fantasy element."
Oh dear god. I had no idea. That poor middle eastern city that got nuked. While I was playing, I never really considered all the casualties. Infact, I was under the impression that not only were the characters fantasy, but also the locations, events and the central conflict itself. Infact I was under the impression the hole game took place in the "near future". But now that I know it actually happened, thats just horrible.
And yes, this is my own little smart ass way of calling you an idiot.

This was a good move. If I ever tire of the multi-player, this will give me a LAG-FREE, endless brawl with my buddies.
I'm sold.

I think it's funny to read all of the complaints about this taking away from the "realism" of CoD. Let's see, CoD 4 plotline was entirely faked, sure it's in a similar battelfield, but still a fake plotline. Oh and let's not forget to mention, REGENERATING HEALTH, PERKS, and EXPERIENCE. I'm sorry but this is too funny to hear people defend the "realistic experience" of Call of Duty, because I'm sure all of the gamers out there playing this series are real life battle hardned veterans of foreign wars and have seen real life combat experience. HAHA. Give me a freaking break, it's a video game for pete's sake, and kudos to Treyarch for going the extra mile and putting something fun in, just like CoD 4 did, with the secret level at the end of the game on Air Force One.

Alright people, lets get one thing straight, CoD has never and will never be realistic, ITS A GAME. So who cares if it is realistic or not, it's meant to be enjoyed, not "Oh this shit ain't real cause there's zombies in it". For fucks sake man if it was real no one would buy it cause you would die after five minutes and be able to play it again, CAUSE YOU ARE DEAD. That would be more realistic. Stupid nerds who know fuck all about war bar these unrealistic computer games. Geez I hate geeks. Remember folks, ITS NOT REAL, ITS A GAME. Losers.

Before playing WaW I was skeptical. After playing I was happy to see that they didn't screw anything up. In fact some things are better, namely the multiplayer maps. The only flaw that really sticks out is the AI when playing on veteran. It's retardedly unrealistically difficult and your squad is constantly getting in your way hindering your progress, not helping. Everything else is awesome! Anybody talking smack about it should not be taken seriously because they are clearly clueless. Also, the optional Nazi Zombies, IS FUN AS HELL!!! If you're a big fan of CoD4 I can't imagine you being let down by WaW. It looks AT LEAST as good and with better maps as well as having awesome new features including tanks and the dogs. One of the best parts about the dogs is the fact that you can actually defend yourself from them.
Basically, if you haven't actually played it yourself, don't talk smack.
