I don't know if I can stomach playing through "The Magical Mishaps and Madcap Antics of the only Competent Man in the World"

Damn, your 3rd play-through on GTAIV? Really? Wow. I was bored enough at the end of the 1st play-through. I'll definitely end up playing the DLC, though. Your first post was way over my head :P

This is going to be good news for people that pick this game up during the holiday season. But for all those people that have already played the game, I don't think trophies will be worth it to them.

Sucks the trophies are not retroactive. But oh well. Tons of trophies coming soon for me, as I play Bad Company and SOCOM online and they are both getting trophies soon too.

Why didn't they also patch in in-game soundtrack support while they were at it, like in Burnout Paradise and select other games?

The game runs at about 15-20fps as it is, I wouldn't want it to become a slideshow so that I can listen to some Judas Priest

One play through at almost 90% is enough... Not gonna go through it again just for some trophies with so many new games coming out!

I don't think i'll ever get into Trophies as much as i do achievements. I downloaded the patch got the first trophy and shut it off. Had no interest in getting any more. This is probably because of all the time I have put into achievements, no need to have to fake things to go after and waste my time even more.

It can sometimes add reply value to a game, though I think most would just buy a new game anyways instead of using trophies/achievements to extend a current game's lifespan further.

I haven't played this in a couple months, I think I'll at least try a playthrough with trophies in between other games

I just don't really get into either the Trophy or Achievement thing. I know people that do and if that extends the enjoyment of the game for them then I'm all for it. But out of curiosity, can someone explain to me what they think the big deal is?

I like the challenge sometimes. It makes me consider things that I normally wouldn't go out of my way to do. Especially if there's an incentive like in Mass Effect or Halo 3.

The total gamerscore or whatever the ps3 equivalent is doesn't mean anything.

I've played casual games over again with a different challenge in mind. That said, I rarely bother going for many trophies in a plot game (e.g. Uncharted).

I'm hoping I can use some of my GTAIV trophies inside HOME so I can grab one and smash the living f@ck out of (more virtual) people.

GTAIV does that to me.

How is the zombie thing new? I've had a zombie outfit since the first time I played the game online.

I'm already going to play through it again when the PC version comes out, no point in playing through the PS3 version just for the trophies.

I really hope they implement steam achievements into it though!

Do you get a trophy for trading it in?
Cos thats what most people seem to be doing with this thing these days judging from the shelves at GAME or wherever.

The game has sold 10 million copies, and it was released nearly six months ago -- why are you shocked to see traded-in copies showing up in stores?

You're damn right some of us were expecting them to be retroactive. At least some of them very easily COULD be. For starters, the game keeps some pretty extensive stats. Second, is someone trying to tell us milestone trophies like "complete mission x" and "unlock x island" can't be given retroactively? The game can't notice that we're not still on the first island or that we've completed all the missions? Absurd.

I had a few complaints about GTA4, none of them regarded the absence of another worthless stat though.
I think it already had enough.
It's pretty pathetic if this is the meatiest bone they can throw to PS3ers.
Sure I'll play through it again eventually but right now I'm enjoying Saints Row2 and looking forward to LBP this week.

Really Sony is the one dropping the ball here. The last couple of additions (Trophies & Life) are so incredibly forgettable. I don't mind them copying from other systems, but at least copy the interesting stuff. Why do they bight off the most mundane functions?

You guys got to help me! Since the new update my GTA IV says that I did not create my save data and could not be loaded! That's true, but I didn't have any problems with it before the update!

Is there any kind of solution? Please help!

What I'm going to do:
1. Start a new game.
2. Look up a trophy list.
3. Get about 5 of them.
4. Get bored and start playing Warhawk.
