For those of you that are having issues with the responsiveness of your cymbals there is a REALLY easy fix! On the back of the cymbals there are 4 Phillips screws, take them out and take the plastic cover off...there is a little sensor there. If you take a 1"-2" piece of tape stick it to the sensor and tape it to the pad it makes the sensitivity MUCH better. Don't make it too tight because it makes it too sensitive thus registering a double hit...look for video on You Tube.

Before you do all of this try loosening the nuts on top of the cymbals by 1/2 or 1 full turn. This allows the cymbal to vibrate more when you hit it, increases sensitivity, takes 2 seconds, and doesnt void your warranty.

If that doesnt work then try the tape surgery thing.

I was at a friend's house playing it all afternoon. And honestly...it sucks. Big time.

Drums are really unresponsive unless you bash the shit out of them. The microphone is the most sensitive thing ever and it never said I hit the notes, even though I know I did (I'm a singer so I know). Of course the guitar is fun and honestly Guitar Hero World Tour featuring Drums and Singing should have just been Guitar Hero 4 with more guitar add ons. Oh, the setlist sucks too. I give the game a 6.5.

actually i agree with you except for the part about the setlist. i think guitar hero has a 3x better tracklist than rock band.

@Spike:

so being that the drums are a good 1/4 of the Guitar Hero World Tour package, I should give the product more credit if the drums are screwed up right out of the box? I don't think so.

Had a long day yesterday, and ran across the band bundle at Circuit City and put it on my card. I figure it probably won't be abundant on store shelves anytime soon, so I had to grab it.

I'm tempted by this because of the new songs and the Mii integration, but I'm really only interested in this for the traditional guitar play. I'm not interested in the other instruments.

I hope to see it do very well indeed.

Band Kit. The set list suits me fine and I haven't noticed any hardware problems yet with the exception of the yellow cymbal being under-sensitive. DLC works fine, it downloads and then asks you where you'd like to store it (I chosed SD card just to try it out). One of the first things I did after taking the new instuments for a spin was check out the Boston DLC; I finally got to play some Boston (friends with RB1 refused to download any). All in all, I'm satisfied with my purchase and now I just need to get the friends together to party.

I picked up the Guitar bundle as I already have the GH3 guitar and a mic (from the PS2 RB of all sources). I figured I'd wait for the drums, but that may not be by choice any more!

As for the tracks, I'm liking it so far. Looking forward to future DLC. Which hopefully will be on some type of regular basis.

I am hoping for the band kit for christmas but since we are going to disney my family said only small gifts. So now i am going to ask for gift cards to gamestop or bestbuy so that i can buy it. If i only get like 100 i will probably settle for the game and guitar. Heres hoping!!

I bought the Guitar Bundle, and as the first of these type of games I am having a blast (even though I can only play at Easy difficult). I will eventually get the Drums later, but that was actually a good thing I'll be waiting it out till they fix the issues with it. For now, Guitar/Bass is good enough, and i'll get a microphone. By the way, I can just use any USB Microphone for GHWT Wii?

Any USB mic should do, yes. Even a Rock Band mic for the PS2 works (which is my situation).

Got the whole game bundle at 8 am yesterday.
Its a great game, love it!

Music is a matter of personal taste, I dont like all the songs in there but I've compared it with the Rock Band 2 playlist and I prefer Guitar Hero World Tour's songs over RB2.

The new guitar is a HUGE improvement over the previous one! Its bigger, feels more natural and has a better feel. The mic works fine but even on my 120" screen from my projector I can hardly read the lyrics... terrible font choice! As for the drums I love it, much better then the one in Rock Band. More responsive and cooler.

Got it first thing Sunday morning from Gamestop, and so far I love it. Haven't had any problems with the responsiveness of any of the drum pads, but my microphone doesn't work at all. The game refuses to recognize that the mic is plugged in. Aparently I'll need to send it back to Red Octane at my expense to get it replaced :( And seriously, all of the other instruments are wireless.. they couldn't include a damn wireless mic? How about just a microphone stump that attaches to the bottom of the wiimote that you would use by holding the wiimote upside down... since you need to have a controller in order to use the microphone anyway... Are you listening Nyko?

Yea I stood in line for it. 2 and a half hours. 20 people ended up showing up, and yea the Wii full bundles sold out at the wal-mart I was at.

But don't let it deceive you. They only had like 2 Wii bundles per store, so of course the bundles sold out for Wii.

To people having trouble with cymbal responsiveness I had that problem out of the box, the orange cymbal wasn't working at all. Then I realized that the little plug thing that plugs beneath it wasn't in all the way, so make sure your plugs are in all the way!

Anyone have any luck using the Wii RB1 mic w/ GH:WT? I have been unsuccessful thus far.

I got the full band kit. I love it man, I have had no problems with my drums being unresponsive. exept when it's a yellow and red hit sometimes it does not register the red hit. but when it's a red hit only it works fine...it weird. I think i will look into that screw thing to make them a little more sensitive.

I was going to get it day one, but I'm holding out to see if the controllers work with RB2 before committing.

I just got a 360, and will likely get it for that platform instead, if the Wii controllers aren't compatible with RB2.

I already have a Wii Les Paul from GH3, so I hope they end up being RB2 compatible.

i love world tour, and rb2 probably is just as good, maybe better, but i just think world tour on the wii is too limited. i've played through all the features, the extra pod effects in the studio were left out in the wii version, online is limited to two consoles. And worst of all, dlc is crap on wii. Out of the (maybe a month) time that game's been out, the online content has barely changed on the wii version. I love the wii, but i think i made a mistake when i bought the wii version. The first time i bought it(i got the double guitar pack), the les paul controller's neck didn't work at all. So we had to take that back and get another. it works perfectly now, but im just disapointed with all the things it lacks. I love the game, its awesome, It just could of been better in so many ways. I can say this, my favorite mode is mii freestyle. Im not going to tell people which system to get this on, but if your just looking for a family game, this would be for you. If your a musician like me, get the 360 version if you can, or ps3, which ever you have. If you just have a wii, i don't know what to say. Get it. The song list is pretty good. Mr. Crowley is addicting to play! lol

I was thinking about getting this for Christmas. Does the guitar & drums need the wii wireless controllers to function? If so how do they mount onto the guitar & drums?

Thanks for the info

the controllers go inside it sort of...
like there are little removable back which you remove and connect a wire into the nunchuck bit and but the cover back on and you can get it out by doing the same but remove the wire as you would the nunchuck

Is anyone else having issues with latency? What I mean is...I was told by gamestop employee that it was ont ime and as a musician, I don't feel like it is. It's almost like you have to be ahead of the song by a half second to play guitar and/or drums. My daughter says that with playstation it is on time. Could it be that the wii is wireless? Someone please help me before I have to go back to gamestop. This is too expensive of a game for my kids to not be happy with it.

I got the single guitar bundle.
You can adjust the calibration to your needs in the options menu, though I got the game two days ago and it seems to be calibrated just fine by default on the Wii.
I adjusted the calibration to 25ms on my Guitar Hero III for Wii because it seemed a bit sluggish.
Also, if you have Guitar Hero III for Wii, I suggest you use the Guitar Hero III Les Paul controller that comes with the game instead of the new World Tour controller unless you really want to use the touchpad.
I have been running into problems with the touchpad, frets, and the strum bar.
I play on expert, I noticed that the touchpad acts as if I'm tapping it during long notes, causing it to think I'm strumming, thus over-strumming and making me lose most of my combos, I even failed a couple of times before some songs even started, I've seen a few complaints about this on all consoles. When I found out the touchpad was light sensitive, I just disabled it in the options menu. I hold the frets very firmly as I play, and I noticed that rarely the green fret would flicker during sustained notes, but I haven't seen anyone with this same problem, so it's probably just mine. Lastly, I altarnate when I strum (both up and down), and I noticed that the strum bar registers many extra strums every time I play fast strums (even while the touchpad disabled). This caused me to fail "Sweet Home Alabama" on my first try during the string of fast strums right at the end of the song. Right before doing that part my rock meter was green, that's how bad it was.
Thankfully, when I use my Guitar Hero III Les Paul I have none of these problems. Hopefully RedOctane will release a new guitar or fix for these problems, but it's not all that bad, the strum bar problem is really the only one that gets me flustered.
Anyways, the game is awesome, and the set list is amazing, a must have for the Wii for anyone considering, the controller is the only downside, but not everyone reports these problems!

There is definitely some latency with the drums. If you go into freestyle mode it becomes blatantly obvious. I am a musician and I play acoustic/digital drums all the time...I was really disappointed with the drums for GHWT. I think they definitely should have made them wired as opposed to wireless.
