What a bunch of BS! The real fans of the Mortal Kombat series are in their late 20s, early 30s. Why do they need a Teen rating?? As if teens dont play M rated games anyway...fuggers...

Christ it's annoying seeing people get so bent out of shape about this. People who were sold on the game are now saying they won't buy it because of a few cosmetic changes. Big fucking deal.

Yes, it's Mortal Kombat and there should be blood. But if the gameplay is decent, and by all accounts we've seen so far it is suprisingly so, the toned-down fatalities don't make a damn bit of difference, despite the whining of spoiled gamers. If the gameplay sucks, then I'll just wait for the next MK game proper.

I was looking at the screen, and noticed it was graphically degraded since the last time I saw it.

...than I seen the controller.

Kizzle is right, stop complaining, or maybe I'm just not complaining because I'm a 26 year-old big FAN of the series! Fans accept change in their games and either work with it or just critique it in a sense that they could never produce a game of such high calibur.

Haven't you seen videos of characters being slammed through 6 brick walls, or the in-air kombat? Look how smooth the backgrounds and animation are. I say "F" the "M" rating, I'm buying this no matter what! Anybody with me?

I second joe_of_wars opinion. I have played every incarnation of MK since I was 12. I loved it then and love it now. It changes over time as any good series should plus the removal of the more gritty Fatality scenes isn't going to hurt the overall game mechanics. Even if they removed the blood MK has always stood as a solid fighter. Look at Soul Caliburs lack of blood or decapitation, it doesn't make it any less of a solid fighter. Real fighter fans will still play and buy it gore hounds should go watch Faces of Death then play MK to fulfill their gratuitous violence need.

Now, seconding that comment isn't that wrong, but personally I think they shouldn't tone a game down for a T rating.
If it is a change during the creative process of developing the game, and it wouldn't fit the developers vision of it: change is absolutly ok.
But what their doing here, is simply wanting to sell more copies to a younger audience that shouldn't even been targeted with a game like this after the censoring.

lol

real fighter fans will play fighting games that dont have terrible mechanics and actually have a following.

Mortal Kombat has always been a gimmick since MK1, and its a joke of a fighting series.

The T rating will sell more games? To who, little kids that don't know the first thing about MK or DC? I wasn't interested in this game in the first place but it is a shame that Midway sells themselves and the MK series out just to appeal to little kids that can't handle blood and awesome fatalities.

Here's a solution - a DLC patch to unlock the M variants. That would solve it, wouldn't it?

Am I disappointed? Yes. Will I buy it eventually? Yes.

Why don't gaming companies figure in a way to capitalize on some wanting the uncut version? They should offer additional content (the regular fatalities) for like 400 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live.

That sucks ass. The little kids always get their hands on the M rated games so why go for a Teen. If their are so many 10 years old kids playing Gears of War why cant they play a Mature MK vs DC.

Does anybody remember the two young boys out in Colrado? I'm DC fan and was one the origional MK fans, I sat down with my son and explained to him about the game. He's grown to a healthy and vital part of society. Does the ratining really matter? You be the judge when he's taliking to the next teenager in court that has no expression or gulilt about the crime he or she commited against the family when it you sister stuffed under a water bed. Don't be surprised when it happens in your neighborhood.

That's kind of specious reasoning. What is there to judge? There's been remorseless killings since before video games rolled around.

Honestly, although disappointing, this is something of a "deal breaker" for me. Every time I see it this game looks better and better. Very smooth animations, great aesthetics, unique character lineup. This is going to be a great MK iteration non-the-less.

Not interested anymore. When I first heard this, I wanted to decap some DC characters. Gradually, with more censor bullshit, it's just a fighting game, not MK.

I'll wait for the next full-fledged MK, not this kiddy crap.

... :(

It's a sad day for the Joker, who potentially could have had the most badass fatality ever, but was lost in translation because the game needed a T rating.

I'm still going to try the game out, though.
