Reggie recently sat down with the LA Times to discuss the Wii and the upcoming holiday shopping season. He says that about 3 in 10 stores will be carrying the Wii Fit bundle. For those of you still trying to track down the fitness package, those aren't the best odds.
As for production of Wii consoles, Reggie says that Nintendo is churning out 2.4 million units a month. Compared to 1.6 million last year, Nintendo is really trying their best to satisfy the demand consumers have for the console. Whether they actually will or not, we'll just have to wait and see.

Probably not the most demanding interview he's ever had.
So tell us about your amazing sales?
So tell us about attracting female gamers?
So tell us about your amazing sales to female gamers?
Yawn...............
He's right about New Super Mario Bros. though and it's amazing neverending sales, now there's an evergreen title that makes me very happy indeed. Not only an amazing game, but one that genuinely appeals to "everyone". Huge appeal to hardcore gamers obviously, massive crossover appeal to casual gamers, but best of all without having to be compromised, without having its controls ruined, without being gimmickified in any way, etc (cough Phantom Hourglass...) In terms of Nintendo's current approach New Super Mario Bros. should be the shining example. New Super Mario Bros. is the key.

It should probably be clarified that at the current rate, only about 3 in 10 stores would have Wii Fit in stock. However, Nintendo is increasing shipments significantly to increase that ratio.

In other news, 3 in 10 console owners actually care. Which fits perfectly I think.
