Well, at least this kinda ensures that my Wii won't be covered in dust in 2009.

I hope Nintendo makes something worthwhile instead of a boring rehash again.

I always find it funny that people say their console is "covered in dust" as a way of stating that they don't play it.

My console is also covered in dust, but I play it all the time...I just don't dust it.

Haha, well said :)

I really don't play my Wii at all. I'm a big Nintendo fan, and have been since I was born, so I'll keep my hopes up for the future of the console. Which is why a person that says that plays their Wii slim to none of the times that they play a game goes to Wii and DS fanboy regularly.

What a crock of ****! If we are talking about new games, let it be with different characters. Yes I will be excited for another Zelda and Mario but for FFS, I've been waiting on word about Fatal Frame and on. It seems everything will go to Jap and we'll just get the tail end of the traditional North American market is only use to this e.g Mario and Zelda. Seriously, you couldn't even bring Day of Disaster to us, I mean how long was that in development and yet you can't even drop that game for us. I'm getting sick of this, despite an amazing lineup of things to come I have no faith they will even come to us. Yes I can import but I can't understand it so it's a waste.. I don't know but I'm going to start saving up for a ps3, hopefully Nintendo can come to there senses...

Just my little 2 cents.

Yeah, NOA freakin' sucks massive, pulsating balls these days. I don't know when it happened. No Captain Rainbow, no Disaster, no Fatal Frame...Hell, they've even translated some games and STILL never released them!
They aren't even taking any sort of initiative and bank rolling any Wii/WiiWare/DS games. All the bright spots on the Wii front are coming from Japan!

I mean, Mother 3 is just waiting to be put on WiiWare now. Some guys are making this AWESOME looking 2D fan Zelda...but God forbid NOA does some good ol' fashioned community outreach!
Bastards.

NoA does seem to be falling for the same idea that American media outlets are perpetuating, that Wii is only for the casuals. Club Nintendo, however, might alleviate it.

Disaster will probably come along at some point, Fatal Frame IV apparently bombed (which is why they're not publishing it at all), and Captain Rainbow really had no chance of coming across

On Fatal Frame I heard the only issue with it was the control scheme but I suppose it's sales did warrant reason enough for Nintendo not to releases it in North America. However, I'd like to think maybe they'd give us the option or ability to play it.. some type of translator sd card or something weird like that. If it garners enough interest it won't be a complete loss. I'm thinking weird so forgive me, personally when this game was released it was the turning point for Nintendo imo, only bright sunny skies I thought but then nothing came our way. No More Heroes sold poorly but how bloody fantastic is that game, even the ratings... Id like to say Nintendo needs to stop cashing in but from a companies perspective that's just suicide, lol I'm screwed, I'll just have to learn Japanese it seems. >.<

Well, it's sad, but I already basically abandoned my Wii. I upgraded my PC and I moved onto PC gaming and it's brilliant. My next Wii games will be AC:CF and MadWorld... maybe not even AC.

I felt the same way that those Peas did after I bought my Wii.

Thank you Vgcats for capturing my emotions about the system.

Ha! i abandoned my wii a while ago!
games are just plain bad and boring in my opinion.
wanted to go live (xbox), but decided on upgrading my PC as most of my games are usually FPS.
i am keeping my wii and not selling just until conduit / madworld are out. If they fail, it's gone.

Maybe if more effort had been put into Wii Music I wouldn't be so irritated...
I mean damn, that soundtrack is so small it could fit on an N64 cart, and it doesn't even have half the Nintendo songs Brawl had. I was expecting something as cool as Mario Paint was, but all I got was shovelware with Nintendo's name on it.

I am just glad I didn't actually pay to own/rent the game.

Wow, for a second there I thought I was on Kotaku. This is WiiFanboy.com people. Stop complaining. You don't go to a fansite to moan about how much you hate it. And honestly, I thought talk like this was reserved for Playstation and XBox people. You know, the ones who like to say the Wii has nothing worth playing because they aren't paying attention? Between now and Christmas we have Deadly Creatures, Mushroom Men, Sam & Max Season 1, Tales of Symphonia 2, Animal Crossing and Little King's Story. That's not to mention the great stuff that came out recently like De Blob and Wario Land Shake It. And don't get me started on what 2009 has to offer. You people just love to complain. Is it the lack of M rated titles? Because if so, you bought the wrong system and shouldn't be whining about your poor judgement on a Nintendo fansite.

You go to the fansites to get away from the Nintendo trolls and talk more freely and more in depth about the company...even if that includes bitching!

At least I do.

Yes, but the straight-up trolls have begun penetrating the fanboy sites

You frequent GoNintendo, samfish, you of all people should know this. Their comment fields have become a cesspool.

I have a Wii since April, and after I'll that time, only one word is remaining in my mind about it:

Gimmick.

What exactly do you find gimmicky about it?

That's the last word that should come to mind if you've played games like Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, Mario Kart Wii, Zack and Wiki, and many more great titles.

You are right - there are some good titles out there for the wii such as the Mario and Zak and wiki.
But that is just not enough - i still expect more than "cute" games for my system.
I am not bitching on the wii - i am just plain saying it is boring me at this point.

After the Nintendo 64 I learned a valuable lesson that hasn't let me down since. Don't buy Nintendo Consoles on Day 1. Or even day 365. Wait until there's a preponderance of killer titles and hit it then. I did this with the Gamecube, the DS, and now the Wii. I end up happily playing catch up with super killer titles and it seems like new ones never stop rolling in.

Since I got my Wii last month it's been spinning disks constantly (all games I picked up for less than $20), and I haven't even touched Super Mario Galaxy, Boom Blox, Mario Kart, or Metroid Prime.

That's not even counting all of the WiiWare and VC games I don't even have time to touch yet.

What bothers me is that nobody is realizing that every 'core' game that Miyamoto is promising is all FIRST-party. Nintendo is only so big and can only concentrate on so many things at once.

Plus, everybody wants everything all at once. The Wii is not even 2 years old. The latest console Zelda isn't even 2 years old. Usually the breaks between Zelda games are 3 years. Super Mario Galaxy, one of Nintendo's best creations ever, isn't even a year old. Mario Kart isn't even half a year old yet. Brawl is pretty fresh and still fun. Plus there's a lot of third party coming. I'm tired of people saying that there's better quality everywhere else.

If there's everything better, then go to them. I know Nintendo won't let me down in the end. People just forget that they know everything that we don't know.

My main gripe with that isn't my concern of quality for first-party games. I'd like to see Nintendo branch out and utilize the Wii and it's control scheme and bring interesting titles to life. Like I said earlier, Fatal Frame series, a great branch there but only in Jap, fail imo. Someone earlier mentioned animal crossing and mushroom men etc, ya I guess that's ok but it just doesn't warrant spending the bucks, there is no longevity and sense of fulfillment. That being said, it can be done. Games like No More Heroes and Okami leave you feeling like you played a "masterpiece" rather than a quick fix game. Look at what happened with the Conduit, why does a game like that have to struggle to get a publisher? It won't be the most amazing FPS but for the Wii it is a necessary one and Nintendo shouldn't idle while fans are salivating at the thought of playing it. Madworld, look at how much controversy that game is getting, why? I don't get it but perhaps it's because people are willing to say hey this is Nintendo don't bring that stuff here. I don't find that fair because I like to have variety in my collection and Nintendo is more than capable in bringing those titles here.... I think I'll just go back and replay some Killer 8 or World of Goo.

@ TD

i agree with you there buddy. if you don't like the system then just get another console! people who don't like the Wii act as if the Wii is the only console on the market! honestly in the previous gen of consoles i didn't like the GCN all that much so i just went a bought a PS2, enjoyed it and went along my mary little way. not to say that i HATED THE GCN VERY MUCH but it was my least favorite console. but did i go to myspace or any other websites forums and complain about it? NOOOOO! i just bought a PS2 and enjoyed it while it lasted!

That's the weird thing. Last generation I owned a PS2 and a Gamecube. The generation before, a PS1 and an N64. This is the first time since the SNES that I haven't felt the need to own anything other than Nintendo's offering. And people say there's nothing worthwhile on the system. I have a backlog of titles to play.

I love my Wii, lot of good games out w/ more in the pipeline, keep the good stuff coming. I don't see how people's Wiis are getting dusty. There are alot of great titles on the V.C. and a couple good titles already on Wii Ware. I guess you can't please all of the people all of the time.
My only big gripe about the Wii is no voice for C.O.D. W@W. I'm sorry that's just dumb. Hopefully this will change. I wish Wii Speak was retroactive(?) for obvious titles like Mario Kart Wii and M.O.H.H2.I can dream can't I.

yeah but heres the problem with people playing VC games that are LEGIT. people (meaning anyone and NEARLY everyone) like free things. wether it be money, cloth, books, phones and ESPECIALLY games. so what does that have to do with the VC? PIRACY. IDC how many people deny it, piracy in the USA is HUGE! people pirate games from EVERY CONSOLE. be it old or new. so people tell themselves "why pay to play it on my Wii when i can just pirate the game want and play it on my PC, PSP, PS2 and NDS" (i think the R4DS can play GBA games. correct me if i'm wrong). i've learned that no matter how much you try to argue it, people will ALWAYS stand up for HOMEBREW and HOMEBREW APPS even though they know that the APPS are being used for playing pirated games. sure homebrew SHOULD be illegal but people will always say that they don't play pirated games when infact they know they're lieing to themselves and others.

So what are these mystery games? When are the *actually* coming out? Did NOA really lowered our standards and expectations to the point where we are giddy over vague conjecture? Was there more to that interview that Wii Fanboy just decided not to post? Is anyone asking the tough questions (Like: "Seriously, cut the bullshit. When are you going to give us a real game?") and holding NOA to their previously self-set high standards?

I've been a dual platform kind of guy since the N64, buying N64 and PS One, Game Cube and PS2, Wii and PS3 - but it feels like this is the first time Nintendo hasn't validated my decision to spend on both.
