Video: Zombies at War, first footage of the new World at War mode

A few days ago Treyarch announced a special mode included in Call of Duty: World at War that unlocks once the game has been completed. Dubbed the Nazi Zombie co-op mode, the additional feature pits gamers against hordes of zombies armed with World War II era weaponry. Cue your best, "World Exclusive" voice-over and watch the first footage of the mode above. We're conflicted about the mode though because while it looks cool it does seem a little silly to have something so historically innacurate in a World War II game -- flamethrowers don't traditionally carry that much ammo. Someone at the Treyarch research desk totally needs to be talked to about this.

Wow, that knife sound effect still sounds horrible. Can't they just ask Infinity Ward for that sound file?

As much of a zombie and COD4 fan as I am, I'm still not sold on COD:WaW. This zombie mode is a big step in the right direction of getting me to buy it, but i'm not sold yet. So far this seems just like an arcade House Of The Dead-style thing. That's ok, but..yeah. Headshots should be the only thing that matters, and who would want to use old WWII guns against the horde? I'd rather stick with Left 4 Dead.

This was a smart move to add more content and playability out of this game. Sure it is ridiculous and does not make much sense as far as WWII and zombies are concerned. But people love watching people kill zombies, why not throw it in more games? In fact what is so wrong with every 1st person shooter having a zombie/horde mode, should be included with ever shooter game if you ask me. Like CO-OP! Weapons may be a big complaint but some people like the WWII back drop just as much as modern implications. I think it would be cool to see a Zombie movie set before guns. I am sure there is one but it probably is not worth watching. Ninjas vs Zombies anyone?

this is the same footage they've had up for a while...just without anyone talking about it.

wow, that looks like it is going to be so much fun...i can't wait, but at least i got Fallout and Gears to hold me over until then.

There was a flash game that was quite similar to this. You held your position while zombies attacked you.
It reminds me of Horde from Gears 2 & Left 4 Dead. This is a cool game mode that I will love to play when it comes out. I was already sold on the Co-Op and COD4 MP with WW2.
I guess it's the matter of opinion, but I can't wait for this game (I think I'll even play it more than Gears 2)!
