I'm really lacking understanding as to why these disc based sequels/expansions are needed. Are they added new game modes, or just more tracks? If it's just more tracks why not just have the tracks on the singstore.

The licensing for disc-based songs is easier to get than downloadable songs. Not only that, but you only get one extra download on the Singstar DLC, which means I'm sticking to the discs on this one.

Keeps the game 'fresh' to those in the aisle at the store....you may not have been attracted to the playlist you see on DoucheStar Vol 1 but the songs on Vol 2 and Vol 3 might get you to buy the game...then your hooks are in.

I do agree though that 3mos after the discs go on sale the content should be available as individual songs on the SingStore...which it currently isn't.

it also means that the game is also getting support for those without internet. Its hard to believe, but they do exist! ESPECIALLY those that use the thing primarily for casual party use!

and id have to agree with Kspraydad that they should be made available for DL on the singstore also!

havent played any singstar games before.. anybody know if singstar, singstar 2 or 3 have trophies support? its just a pressie for somebody and wud obviously be a bonus if one of them did trophies then i will buy them that one.

Yay more song packs most likely NOT coming to North America.
Vol. 3 is a very long way off for North Americans as well BTW.

I just got an email that the PlayStation Home beta invite is only for those who subscribed for a year to Qore prior to today. I had heard before that I would just have to buy the November issue, which I was planning on doing. Too bad I guess.

its annoying they never say anything about the us/canada side of singstar but yet post updates now n then on the uk sony forum and the ukfacebook .still waiting for singstar to update the store since its been almost a month since we got anything

God damn Sony, release ONE version of SingStar, with the ability to download these song packs directly from the SingStore. Users' without Internet connection to their PS3's should just have to buy these "add-on" discs and rip the music into their original SingStar game...

Getting sick of Sony not trying anything new. Seems they're on the money train, just pumping out useless materials without interactivity. Good thing Microsoft is getting Lipz to the Xbox 360 owners, so Sony finally get some great competition. I want a SingStar evolution - now!!

* I WANT WIRELESS MICROPHONES NOW!
* Ability to rip other discs onto the PS3 HDD
* Creation of playlists (great for parties)

As we all know, Singstar US sucks. Does anyone know if the disc swap feature works with U.S./ PAL discs? If I had a U.S. disc and bought Singstar Vol2 or Vol 3 and swapped it with my U.S. disc would it work? Whjat about DLC form Eropean store, will that work with my U.S. Disc. WTF SONY why you make shite difficult. Such potential with this series and you are blowing it!

You can only purchase songs from the Singstore in your region, as well the discs are region locked, songs and discs from the UK will NOT work if you live in the US.

Not true. PS3 discs are region free!
And you can download songs from the US store and play them on the UK versions of the game!

Ah okay, the discs are cool then. Downloading songs from the UK store is impossible for North Americans however.

So this is for Singstar Vol3? I played Pop 2 over the weekend and sang many of those songs already. I'm getting sick of buying the same songs over and over again just to get a few other songs I like. Put these things on the store and be done with it already.
