Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts demo on Xbox Live
There's now a demo for Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts on Xbox Live and you may just want to prepare yourself. Even if you've never had any patience for a game about a bear wearing a bird-stuffed backpack (which is still not a good idea for a game, bee-tee-dub) you might just find yourself, as we did, happily slapping together vehicles with a stupid grin on your face.

xFenixKnightx @ Oct 29th 2008 8:47AM
DO WANT!!! AHHHH!!! C'mon 4 o'clock!!!!
FSK405K @ Oct 29th 2008 8:56AM
Lol, I hope both of you are being sarcastic. You know it's basically the same Lego racer game they released like 5-10 years ago but without Lego pieces now, right?
ExMcCloud @ Oct 29th 2008 8:58AM
No sarcasm...Faith...I will put my last dying Faith in RARE if they fuk this game up they have lost me forever.....Its Banjo I gotta give them the benefit of the doubt until they mess up
baby sea tuna @ Oct 29th 2008 9:09AM
Hey FSK405K,
How does it feel to have no soul? Must be pretty empty, huh?
Snowblind @ Oct 29th 2008 9:11AM
Perhaps you should actually try playing the game first? Besides a few of the missions, the game is in NO way a racing game, it plays almost exactly the same as the old Banjo games, except now you use vehicles instead of getting power ups.
I agree that it was an unncessary change to appeal to the masses, but the game still plays very well, it's a blast to play and it's still the same Banjo humour.
EgoCheck616 @ Oct 29th 2008 8:49AM
Downloading now, along with the Tomb Raider demo.
Got the day off, thank you Canadian snow storms. So I'll give it a good run-through after I finish shoveling.
Really looking forward to it, to be honest. I was a MASSIVE Banjo Kazooie / Tooie fan back in the day. I hope this dawns the return of Rare's credibility.
ExMcCloud @ Oct 29th 2008 8:52AM
Rare would be more credible to me if they made Donkey Kong Country 4 and brung bak the bramble scramble(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaMcOo-k23U) music, and the Boss Bossanova(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DftL-h4kK4M) music!
In A World (XBL) @ Oct 29th 2008 3:14PM
@ExMcCloud: Donkey Kong is a Nintendo property! Derrrr
EgoCheck616 @ Oct 29th 2008 8:51AM
By the way, whoever decided to release this the day after Fallout 3 is a fool.
It's bad enough I already have one craving to fill.
FSK405K @ Oct 29th 2008 8:55AM
Why are 90% of the retail games that they post demos for crap? Where's the Fallout 3 demo instead?
EgoCheck616 @ Oct 29th 2008 8:58AM
Hey now, just because you don't care for it doesn't mean no one else can.
Let us have our fun. No need to become a giant hater over one game.
Xfire40 @ Oct 29th 2008 9:10AM
FSK405K: It's fucking Banjo-Kazooie.
baby sea tuna @ Oct 29th 2008 9:16AM
Oh come on! I'm only about halfway through Dead Space, an hour into Fallout 3, had to bypass Far Cry, LBP, and Fable 2, Gears 2 comes out next week...and now this?! I'm gonna need to quit my job if I want to find the time to play all of these games!
Damn you First-World problems!
xFenixKnightx @ Oct 29th 2008 9:23AM
How do you guys do that? I cant stand jumping from game to game until I finish one. I can do jumping from one games campaign and then going to play another games MP. But campaign wise I really like to stay immersed in one story until I finish.
baby sea tuna @ Oct 29th 2008 9:31AM
Considering that I watch about 11 different TV shows at any given period in time, I'd say that I've gotten plenty of practice.
Seriously though, I usually try to stick with 1 or 2 games at a time. Any more than that and I completely forget the controls and objectives of at least one of them.
Dirty @ Oct 29th 2008 10:28AM
Im in the same boat. Fallout is going to arrive in my mail today, and its going to be hard to keep myself from opening that and playing it. MUST FINISH DEAD SPACE!!!! MUST BE KING OF ALBION!!! Chop WOOD!!! ARRGGHGHAAHGG
Sorry, yea and I really don't want to be stuck in the office this week.
Mr Khan @ Oct 29th 2008 11:27AM
It really irks me to leave a game unbeaten, also.
Part of the reason why i buy them up so slowly.
AwesomeTown @ Oct 29th 2008 11:52AM
I'm with you babyseatuna. I'm usually playing 2 at once, but if I'm really engrossed with one that I'll stick with that one. It's nice to have a couple games of different genres to add some variety. Especially when one game is dragging or an RPG grindfest. (Damn you Tales of Vesperia, damn you.)
I still hate unfinished games, and I have a few of those lying around. Hopefully I'll get through the main quest in Tales whilst I play Fallout 3 before Gears 2 comes out. Man, life sucks, huh?
Solid Warri0r @ Oct 29th 2008 9:22AM
ITS AWESOMEEEE
samfish @ Oct 29th 2008 9:23AM
I guess today I'll find out whether or not I should cancel my pre-order.
xFenixKnightx @ Oct 29th 2008 9:29AM
Yeah same here. I've been really excited for this game but sometimes demos really kill it for me and save me some mula. Heres hoping I DO need to fork over $40 :D
BanjoK: NaB, CoD: WaW and Gears 2 are the only games I actually plan on purchasing (rest are GameFly's) through out this whole clusterfuck of gaming goodness so I hope it delivers!
LiqwidZero @ Oct 29th 2008 11:49AM
Well, you've got to remember, that $40 also nails you the original Banjo, with much better looking graphics. So, you're really only paying $30. Just make yourself think that N&B comes with the original, and then you'll know your money was well spent.
naxe @ Oct 29th 2008 9:53AM
So how much did MS pay for this once Nintendo exclusive?
It's all fun and games until MS buys out Mario. then what? who will stop them? WHO!
In my opinion the Donkey Kong series was waaaaaaaaay better then banjo..... but i dont think Nintendo will ever let him go to the dark side.
Snowblind @ Oct 29th 2008 10:43AM
They paid nothing. They own Rare, along with Banjo Kazooie and all their other liscences.
Jack of No Trades 85 @ Oct 29th 2008 9:55AM
Damn, I wish I need a new 360. I loved the old Banjo games, but I know for a fact I wouldn't be able to afford all of these games. I had to rent Dead Space, Bioshock and Farcry so that I could purchase LBP and Fallout. Damnit Damnit Damnit
At least im starting a new job in November for more money so I can get back into buying games.
Jack of No Trades 85 @ Oct 29th 2008 9:57AM
You only say that because Banjo is on the 360. If it was the other way around and Donkey Kong was on the 360 you would be saying Banjo was your favorite.
Crazy kids
xFenixKnightx @ Oct 29th 2008 10:07AM
Who are you talking to? o_O
:P
tmacairjordan87 @ Oct 29th 2008 10:07AM
Downloading now. This is easily one of my most wanted games this year since I just got Fallout yesterday.
Snowblind @ Oct 29th 2008 10:44AM
I need to say this again. Making vehicles is REALLY satisfying, I've been playing around with it all day, I can't wait to see what's possible in the full game. I've basically made a massive tank with propellers on the top, I can activate springs to make it fly, and when if it lands in water I can deploy floats to make it a boat :D
It's just too bad I don't have enough wheels to make it balance correctly, it's back heavy when it's not moving.
Mr Khan @ Oct 29th 2008 11:29AM
But how many platforming elements are left? That's the million-dollar question.
tmacairjordan87 @ Oct 29th 2008 11:48AM
Not many so far but I'm having a blast. I'm sort of glad they changed it up here, otherwise it would just be the same run jump climb and swim game I played 10 years ago.
Snowblind @ Oct 29th 2008 12:10PM
It still plays a lot like a platformer, the hub world can pretty much be completely explored on foot, you can climb, swim, etc as much as you want.
Only now vehicles are needed to reach new areas and to complete the missions. I understand some may be disappointed, but it certainly isn't a "racing game".
jack @ Oct 29th 2008 12:10PM
Never liked the series

No one loves you and you are adopted..
Mitch @ Oct 29th 2008 1:10PM
Great, now I have to go home between classes to start the download.
Joel @ Oct 29th 2008 1:13PM
This game is a blast! The vehicle controls are very responsive and feel great. Building the vehicles kick ass! I made a sick car that a flew around and then landed in water and used it as a boat lol....I am very happy that I pre-ordered this game! Plus throw in the banjo kazooie code to download off of xbla, it is a total win!
CubeGuy @ Oct 29th 2008 1:32PM
Download...so...slooooooooooow!
Nap @ Oct 29th 2008 2:09PM
Was this game made specifically for HD? Because the font is so tiny on my TV it hurts my eyes
time @ Oct 29th 2008 4:01PM

i need to renew
Mic2000 @ Oct 29th 2008 5:39PM
Join the club... I'm really curious towards it. Well at least I know that tomorrow I will go to scool where an Xbox360 with an Gold Membership is laying around ;)
Miike @ Oct 29th 2008 4:45PM
Oh that is bull... I can't download it because I'm no longer a Gold subscriber. I deactivated my paid account because I never played any games online, which was supposed to be the only feature Gold people get.
Premature ejaculation man @ Oct 29th 2008 6:03PM
I want my xbox back!!!
technofranki @ Oct 29th 2008 7:27PM
I've played the demo, and I think I like it. Need to play it some more, but I'm excited.
I've made some YouTube videoes that I've posted on my blog: http://blog.technofranki.net/2008/10/30/xbox-360-banjo-kazooie-nuts-and-bolts-videogameplay-demo/
