Claim your Fable 2 DLC redemption codes

As was promised, Lionhead and Microsoft have setup a method for those Fable II CE purchasers who didn't receive the redemption code to get their promised DLC. Silly game packaging mixups.

To claim your free Fable II DLC code, simply head over to the Xbox.com support page and enter your Windows Live ID here. Once filled out and submitted, Microsoft will email your Fable II DLC redemption code within' five business days. Easy as cake! But don't drag your feet too long, because this offer is only available until December 31st. Oh, and don't try to scam the system ...

Erm... So how do I prove I have the Limited Collectors Edition? I didn't get my code in the box and have waited a week for my redeem code :\.

Shall I like play the DVD that comes with it? That proves it I guess?

Does this also provide the pub games through XBLA?

I'm so pissed I bought the stupid limited edition. The only saving grace is that I got it through Amazon and only paid $66, no shipping, and no tax.

I paid 46 dollars for it through Amazon and got it Tuesday morning. Woot for hitting every possible deal combination possible.

This still makes it seem less worth it.

I think the right thing to do would be to set up something like 2K did for Bioshock defects - give people the Hobbe bobbleheads and cards (whatever was in the original package) at a later time, say by sending in proof of purchase?

As far as I've heard - correct me if I'm wrong - but they weren't included because of manufacturing problems, right? So... correct those problems, produce the extra items, and send them out to CE owners as a "sorry, our bad, even though we lowered the price."

what about those of us that ordered the Limited Collectors Edition, got the code for the armor and the extra wepoan and dungeon. We still deserve the other bits that were there when we pre-ordered it. I pre-ordered mine because of what i was getting and thought 'Good Buy' then when they cut it down i couldnt cancel. So not just for everone who didnt get a code, it should be for everyone who purchased the LCE, because we were screwed over too!

Fable 2 and Saints Row 2 both screwed me over with promises of exclusive in-game content with preorders/limited editions, neither of which ended up being exclusive at all. It really makes me want to stop preordering games at all.

Fable 2 has taught me that i have the right to choose to scam or not to scam the system.
I'll deal with the consequences if/when they come. For now, i'll take some free DLC please!

Like someone else already said, Fable 2 is letting us choose our own destiny and I choose the evil scamming Microsoft for free DLC path.

they could have at least used some other piece of CE pack-ins to verify you have that version a la 1980's copyright protection. "What is word 5 on the bottom of map insert."

Its entirely possible that there is something about the disk, like a code imbedded in it somewhere that will be checked when putting the DLC in. Mabye if you try and didnt really buy the LE version your "evil" will shoot all the way up and you wont get the DLC or something. Which would be kinda funny to see.

You have a point, when I put in the code for my LE version all I downloaded was a 108KB key which means the content was already on the disc. Maybe the regular version doesn't have that.

Eh, my evil is already as far up as it can go anyway ;X Even if that is true, at least we'll all get a free copy of Pub Games.

There is no absolute way that Microsoft can tell if you have bought the LE version.

The only thing they can know for sure is if you've put a LE DVD in your xbox or not, but that still doesnt prove you didnt buy a LE version, right?

True, they can't. But you can't use the code without the Limited Edition. All it downloads is the key(Code key, not key key) to unlock the content on the disc.

No offense to anyone trying to get this, but I hope they have SOME sort of way to verify you have the CE game.
I pre-ordered the CE for all the extra stuff.
Then they stripped the physical content and the custom case.
Then they gave the free soundtrack that anyone could download.
That left me thinking, well...at least I'm getting exclusive content.

With no verification, anyone can get the content.
If that's the case, then I should have just bought the normal game and eventually I would have had all the extras for free!

I love Fable II, but Lionhead did a VERY poor job of ensuring their launch went smoothly.
I will be slightly more cautious when it comes to buying their games in the future.

Another life lesson learned from Fable II! =D

I will NEVER per-order a game again! I was so looking forward to Fable 2 that I foolishly pre-ordered the Limited Edition and first was screwed out of the extras that should have come with it, then the DLC which didn't arrive with my copy. Then, they tell me in five days
I'll get my content. I checked again today and now it's 10 days! It's like having unprotected sex for the first time, You're so looking forward to it then, a week later it burns like hell when you pee. Very disappointing. Next time I'll just light my money on fire! At least I'll see that coming.

I don't see how its scamming the system, its free content which SHOULD have been in the game anyway.
I bought the LE version here in the UK and when I tried to use the code its already been used! tried ringing the helpline and go put through to a retard in India and spent and hour on the phone just trying to verify me!

hey if you put in your windows id before dec 31st, will the email containing the codes still come after december 31st?

fuck microsoft. I put in my info into the system almost a month ago and havent gotten anything. I called and they said I'd get it in 3 business days and still nothing. Fuck microsoft and their garbage customer service. I'm just gald I've got a ps3 cause im done with xbox.
