Kefka looks scarier than ever in new Dissidia art
24
One didn't think that Kefka, the insane clown-like villain with the distinctive laugh from Final Fantasy VI, could get any creepier. But he just totally did in the latest Dissida art of him, as revealed by Shonen Jump -- look at the way he's ogling at poor Terra/Tina. She ain't no damsel in distress though; her EX mode named "Trance" is looking pretty powerful. Take a look at the full scan over at PSPHyper.

In before a "Why so serious?" remark.

Awesome, these two look completely awesome
now we just need them to show Cloud and Sephiroth.
why is it that FF7 characters are the last being shown?

Most likely because they are the ones most people want to see the most.
For some reason I think that the Final Fanasy VII characters will be revealed towards the middle of November.

Now if the game actually looked like this art looks, I'd be soo on board. But the only place we'll see this (at best) is in the manual, I'm guessing.

Can't wait to kill Aeris, that worthless hoe-bag.

I played through the whole game with Aeris. I loved her healing ability. Naturally, her death affected me more because I lost the best member of my party. I'll not have you call her a worthless hoe bag.
.....Okay, well, after Crisis Core I'm going to agree with you, but isn't she 12 or 13 in Crisis Core? So I guess she has an excuse.

Love FF6, it was my favorite(probably because it was the first one I played). Anywho, I hope that if FF6 gets remade, it won't be for the DS. Dont get me wrong, the DS games, beautiful looking, but FF6 deserves an overhall worthy of the artwork here. Awesome looking. Hope this Dissidia thing will be cool too.

This art is terrible. Tetsuya Nomura defiles everything he touches.

I dunno, I hate to defend Nomura, but this is the least-bad artwork the guy's ever done. The poses are still static/clumsy, the character designs are still horrendously overcomplicated zazz (that's Amano's fault anyway)
...but he actually made Kefka creepy and ugly, which surprised the hell out of me. I honestly didn't think he was capable of drawing non-prettyboys.

No... The portraits are old, but we haven't see the characters entire bodies.
Not to mention that Terra's face has changed if you do a side-by-side comparsion of the portrait shot that was revealed several weeks ago and this scanned shot.

Geez, Kefka's got a huge grin. It's like Joker gave him some beauty tips and sent him to a circus to steal some clown/jester outfits, sew them together, shoot the circus ostrich, and stick his feathers on his outfit.

This art definitely is in right direction, but that doesn't change the fact that he's not the coolest looking evil character in Dissidia. He looks really weird with his colourful clothes and scary face and that makes me think that not many players will choose him when playing Dissidia.

Kefka will most likely be one of my main characters if this is released in North America.
I think that Kefka is one of the most unique villians in the Final Fantasy series. Unlike Sephiroth and many of the later villians Kefka stands out by having a dark humor.

I agree that he is one of the most interesting villians from FF, but I was able to tolerate his presence in FF6 only knowing that my party will get rid of him. I just don't like his personality. My guess is that majority of players won't choose him because of his looks, but it's nice to see that he has fans.

I like how, as in a fanart I've seen "recently", Tina/Terra's hair looks like a mix of blonde and green. I love just blend in the concept and sprite arts. That she's has a non-imposing chest is a relief, too. She even has a slight point to her ear(s), too. Kefka/Cefca does, too, but his face makes me think of, oh, let's say a Nosepass (I think I _just_ fully realized the "pass" to be from "compass", despite knowing its magnetic aspects; yeesh).
