"It may not be a big deal for many, but those that play games that require a lot of wireless peripherals, such as Rock Band or Guitar Hero may find themselves short on ports."

I think you mean WIRED. I don't have the two USB port PS3 but as far as I know it can support a lot of WIRELESS peripherals but you're limited on the number of wired ones.

What about the headset?... Or any other kind of bluetooth keyboard/mouse, you dont NEED the logitech one... personally i have alot more wireless than wired ones... and I have a PSeye and a PSP plugged in nearly all the time.

Yeah, doesn't it piss you off that this generation, maybe even of all time, Sony is the only console to company to remove features from their systems?

BC, got removed
USB, got removed
Non-vibration got removed =p double negative so it got added i know being silly.

I love my ps3, but man I'm gonna be pissed if it ever dies and I have to get another ps3!

I am going to come down on the opposite side. I bought this product a month ago and it has not worked for my 40 gig PS3. Whenever I try to connect it into the USB port it is loss. So if I put in a cord that may be a little heavy it leans down and is quite ineffective. I would not recommend this product.

U are using the wrong adaptor.. it's missed labeled or something the 40GB adaptor dont work as well as the other one!

so use the other one and Voila! it snaps in and works just fine

maybe I'm wrong here... but can't you just use a standard USB hub?

A USB hub would work fine. I guess what your really paying for is the design and how it blends in with the system.

does it snap in snug? Plastic to plastic? I would think only having the usb hold it there would be weak.

good reveiw, this may be a must purchase for me as my "official" Rock Band hub "SUCKS" and only three of the usb inserts work.

Yes but most USb hubs dont have Card readers and snap snug to your PS3.. not that i suggest you pay that much for a USb hub!!!

They need to make more of these!!!!!! since the PS3 does not have a IR senson.. they need to make a flatter one with like 5 plugs and a card reader that uses both existing USB ports

Im running out of ports! PS EYE... official PS bluetooth charger... controller wire to charge... USB keyboard.. and an empty spot for my 8GB flash drive!....

got i want a 60GB old school machine!

I got mine, and found it to be a bit janky. It's got tabs on the top that seem like they'd snap into something to hold it in place, but they don't do anything. The thing wiggles around like crazy, and is really unstable there. I figured i was doing something wrong and kept trying to get it to lock in place and i think i pushed too hard and broke my usb port. sad face.

Eh, what do you expect, it's Nyko. All third party peripherals minus Logitech are usually junk.

shouldnt be surprising that it works, nyko seems to be very good at making third party peripherals, like their own wireless controller(however ugly it may be)

i kave the 60gb (now upgraded to 320gb) so no problem with usb ports although it would have been nice if sony had left a port on the back of the machine (as shown in prototypes) to allow me to leave the pseye plugged in without a cable snakeing around the front. Apart from this i have no problem unplugging the buzz wireless dongle if i need the extra port to plug my psp as well as charge both controllers. Thank god i have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse (apple products, they may be white but work with no problem)

Luckily i have the 60gig, 4 USB, Card Reader, Backward Compatible jobby. I do have almost all of my USB ports full most of the time though, and might even still need a hub like this.

Play TV is a permanent USB plug in, so is my Controller dock, plus the PSP, and then one spare for Guitar Hero dongle, or Buzz dongle.

The card readers aren't on the new PS3, right? - man they're so useful!

i will be putting a 500gb HDD in there soon though. Play TV fills up a HDD real fast!

Plus games like MGO and Farcry with their 4/5gig installs!

I'm just glad I don't have to pay through the nose for a "special" Sony HDD - like an Xbot would have to!

Xbox HDD 60gb - £120
PS3 HDD 500gb - £60

Go figure!?
