Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 2, virtual Jeff Foxworthy hit XBLA

The second episode of the extremely successful adventure game, Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, and Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? hosted by a virtual Jeff Foxworthy are now available on the Xbox Live Arcade. The double-shot of Arcade fun will leave a gaping hole within virtual wallets as both titles ask 1200 Microsoft space-bucks, if you decide to buy them both or separately that is.

Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? is based off the popular game show that quizzes contestants on 21 different subjects used in the current curriculum in the 1st to 5th grade range. Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode 2 continues the story of web comic icons Gabe and Tycho and the user's created character, searching for answers and revenge in a steam-punk inspired universe. Wait...are they seriously asking $15 for Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?! Yet another "fuck you" to Braid for breaking that price barrier.

I think it has more to do with the game being $19.99 on PC.

Ditto on that my fellow reader. I can sorta sympathize why Mr. Blow raised the price a little (with all the money he spent and what not) but a game like like this? Yeah right.

I wonder if the original Penny arcade game went down price.

Torro, they did drop the price down. Both games are 1200 points.

I'd consider the Penny Arcade game but I think Fallout is going to keep me very busy for a while >.>

I actually played the 5th grader demo. Man, the jingle drives me MAD, even after one playthrough. Not to mention that this Foxworty guy seems to have his hand in his pocket wayyyyyyy too often.

No way I'm going to plunk down 1200 MSP for that.

And Penny Arcade is a solid non-buy, out of principle.

Still havn't bought the first Penny Arcade so I'll be passing on the second for now. And even if I wanted to buy 5th Grader, I can't. It's not showing up on marketplace for me. Is that because I'm in Canada, because it shows up on an American account I created a while back...

Clearly, Canadians are immune from the wiles of Mr. Foxworthy. Thank your stars, Canadian, for I live in the southern states.....

I got the Penny Arcade episode 1 last night. Beat it in about 8 hours and laughed my butt off through half of it. Definitely enjoyable in a juvenile sort of way. I am definitely getting episode 2 when funds permit.
