The Guitar Hero World Tour unlock all songs code
We know we said that unlocking every Rock Band 2 song using a cheat code wasn't, in fact, cheating at all but rather a singular act of rock and roll rebellion; a quick 10-button eff you to the establishment. Well, if you followed our logic there, then what can we say about Guitar Hero World Tour's unlock code, first distributed to the responsible folks who preordered the game through GameStop?
Well, one of 'em did manage to share the code with The Internet, so that's pretty rock and roll. And also, since when is repackaging the allure of real rock and roll into a more palatable, mainstream package any less rock and roll? For every Beatles there's a Monkees; for every Monkees, there's a New Monkees. And with that in mind, we present you the cheat code to unlock every Guitar Hero World Tour song. Just plug this string of buttons into the "Cheats" section under the "Options" menu: Blue, Blue, Red, Green, Green, Blue, Blue, Yellow.

You didn't warn about spoilers.
T @ Oct 29th 2008 12:01PM
How is posting a sequence of colors a spoiler? How is knowing there's a code to unlock all the songs a spoiler?
The spoiler (if there can BE a spoiler) would be playable characters, and the setlist itself.
None of that is spoiled here.

lol who in there right minds would pre order GHWT?
Haggard @ Oct 29th 2008 2:15PM
I would
ToRo @ Oct 29th 2008 11:42PM
Why?
knowthyself @ Oct 29th 2008 11:12AM
Why not just....play career mode to unlock all the songs? Just a thought.
Kenny @ Oct 29th 2008 11:17AM
Let's say you got the game and you want to jam with your friends on day 1 to all the songs.
copa @ Oct 29th 2008 11:22AM
Because then you'd have to play through career mode. I like my plan better.
1. Rent
2. Enter Code
3. Play Hendrix
4. Play Hotel California
5. Return
6. Fire Up Rock Band 2
Tiptup300 @ Oct 29th 2008 12:11PM
Probably because playing GH:WT feels more like a chore and you just want to get to the songs you feel like playing instead of dealing with Neversoft's bullshit system.
xGeneral DEATHx (Mr ESC Resurrection Force) @ Oct 29th 2008 1:42PM
Doesn't take much to please Copa.

"Probably because playing GH:WT feels more like a chore and you just want to get to the songs you feel like playing instead of dealing with Neversoft's bullshit system."
Funny, that's exactly how I feel about RB2. I'm not even half way through that freaking setlist yet because I can only play for a few minutes before turning it off in boredom. God the early songs in that game suck, I just want to get to those select few already, may have to break my no cheating rule for it.
Kenny @ Oct 29th 2008 11:15AM
This code DOES NOT unlock the Dream Theater song "Pull Me Under". You still have to beat some song to unlock it.
wolfpackee @ Oct 29th 2008 11:32AM
The DT song was the closing credits song after we finished the NY New Years Eve gig
dark_inchworm @ Oct 29th 2008 11:21AM
What's the code that enables Hayley Williams at my doorstep?
copa @ Oct 29th 2008 11:24AM
Just keep spending all your free time commenting on a videogame blog like the rest of us, and it'll happen sooner or later, champ.
dark_inchworm @ Oct 29th 2008 12:07PM
:( I suppose the picture I had taken with her a few months back will suffice.
xGeneral DEATHx (Mr ESC Resurrection Force) @ Oct 29th 2008 1:41PM
Maybe, but that in itself required roofies.
dark_inchworm @ Oct 29th 2008 1:58PM
false accusation is false :'C
xGeneral DEATHx (Mr ESC Resurrection Force) @ Oct 30th 2008 11:19AM
Sorry, man...that's just the word on the street. :-\ I'd hit it.
Poke4Christ @ Oct 29th 2008 1:14PM
Is this like the Rock Band code and it only unlocks them till you reset or is it permanent?
Jeff @ Oct 29th 2008 1:42PM
I just realized I never got my code when I picked up the game from Gamestop...
...not that it matters, as I've already beaten the fucking game on Expert. Good job, Neversoft.
I failed exactly three times, once on the Hot for Teacher intro, once in the Never Too Late intro (Christ that's a stupid song), and once in the completely unnecessary meedly part in Satch Boogie.
This is why GH3 and WT aren't as good as GH1 and 2. 1 and 2 had hard songs that took practice, but were still fun to play. 3 and 4 have boring, easy songs with near-impossible meedly sections.
xGeneral DEATHx (Mr ESC Resurrection Force) @ Oct 29th 2008 1:44PM
LOL...I'd never heard it called "meedly" before, though I totally concur. Still, I feel this game is better than GH3...GH3 was just an exercise in patience...random timing errors and some garbage-easy songs (although I'm no Expert-level player).
Haggard @ Oct 29th 2008 7:20PM
I disagree fully. I loved GH1 and 2 because the songs were challenging but not too challenging. I've beaten both on Expert multiple times (due to memory card failures) but I still can't do the final boss battle on GH3 after two years of playing fake plastic games.
Songs that sound great and have catchy riffs are why I like Rock Band, not because of insane shreddyness (my favorite songs on it are Boston - the solos aren't just slogs of button bashing but they sound fantastic)
rp @ Oct 29th 2008 6:48PM
Thanks for the unlock. Tried the code and it says quickplay has been unlocked but songs aren't showing up on list. What am I missing?
Skip @ Oct 29th 2008 8:29PM
I'm in the same boat. I entered the code, it said it was unlocked in 'Quickplay.' I backed out to quickplay and I had the same songlist.
Someone Help!
Skip @ Oct 29th 2008 8:45PM
Figured it out 'rp.' You have to unlock it in the cheats section. Scroll down the cheats until you find the "Quickplay" one and toggle it "on"
rp @ Oct 29th 2008 10:38PM
Thanks Skip!
c @ Oct 29th 2008 11:20PM
ok but this cheat only unlocked some songs and not alla nd I still don't have hotel california... am I doing something wrong? I entered the code under the cheat section in options
mikep @ Jan 5th 2009 10:41PM
how do you enable the cheat for Quickplay mode for GH World Tour? I entered the cheat code, it says it is accepted but the songlist in quickplay still does not have all the songs available. How do you enable the cheat once it is entered in?
micktoyou @ Jan 26th 2009 12:26AM
after you unlock the songs with the code you have to keep going down thru the locked until you see quickplay and turn it on
Rammstein @ Nov 1st 2008 1:25PM
I entered the code (found it online elsewhere) and it didn't unlock all the songs, I suspect you have to complete a task in singleplayer for certain songs.
The TOOL songs for instance, you have to pay $8,000 in-game-bucks to unlock, it seems. I had completely forgotten about Hotel California as well.. wonder what you need to do for it.
Ashley @ Nov 3rd 2008 3:41PM
How do you make it to where all the songs are unlocked in the Pro-Face Off mode??? We just got the game and unlocked all the songs with the other cheat code, but would like to have that option for the battles too
Jdog @ Nov 13th 2008 9:46PM
does this code really work? tell me now lol
Armsofsorrow @ Nov 29th 2008 5:45PM
i think gh:wt sucks. i read the set list, "okay.. b.y.o.b., freak on a leash, what ive done, OH you can put your own songs on the wii??" thats the only reason i bought it. and i cant even do THAT. there are no detailed instructions on how or why my sd card's music isnt being read on the wii. (even when i change the format of the songs from mp3 to AAC) i tried both ways.
if anyone has any links that could help, id appreciate it.
TDOG @ Dec 13th 2008 5:35PM
I put the cheat code in to unlock the songs on guitar hero world tour for wii but it didn't unlock any new songs. What did I do wrong??
cLarity @ Dec 25th 2008 3:59PM
You have to find the cheat and turn it on.. It doesnt automatically go into effect when you put the cheat in, you have to enable it.
GermanStud @ Dec 25th 2008 7:44PM
Where do you find the cheat to enable the code
kenner @ Dec 27th 2008 12:10PM
