SDHC support would be great, maybe a lot of people don't know about this but most homebrew applications are upgrading to suppor SDHC from the front SD slot of the Wii... so it seems that the hardware on the Wii can also read/write to SDHC cards it just has to be "activated" through a firmware update.

This seems interesting, as unlocking SDHC capability on the SD card slot would allow people to have 16GB of space for roughly $40.

Maybe when this will be released (the ability to save DLC directly on SD) the 32GB cards will be $40, allowing for a cheap upgrade indeed.

And who said the Wii wasn't future-proof :P

not buying a DSi... there just isn't a compelling enough reason for me to upgrade (again).

It would be nice if you could save downloaded demos, or "gift games" sent by other NDSes on your SD(HC) card.

I'm doing a full translation of this Iwata Asks series on the VG Chartz forums. I've just started, and so far I've only completed "Part 1: Cameras and SD Cards". Working on Part 2 at the moment. Anyone interested can see the thread at the link below.

I see 2.4GHz...if that's the processor...the iPhone and PSP don't compare anymore.

Unfortunately ... that 2.4GHz is referring to the wireless frequency.

D;

Nintendo, you fail once again...

But, that doesn't mean the DSi CAN'T be more powerful than the DS and DS Lite...maybe they did upgrade the processors...?

They could have, but it wouldn't be very useful for gaming purposes, as to make games compatable with DS/DSLite.

The DSi was given a RAM increase, though. Mostly for improved support for the browser and such.

Oh lordy this isn't going to be a repeat of the Wii is it? Wii is compatible with SDHC, but this is disabled by software. Only the machines modified by homebrew can actually utilize this feature...

SDHC was months old tech when the Wii came out - if they allowed SDHC in a firmware upgrade today, older games that use the SD card slot would not be able to recognize the SDHC card, so basically, games like Brawl and Excite Truck would be Excite Fucked.

I'm not harware savvy by any mean, but I don't see how older games would have issues with accessing a SDHC card. It's just another storage medium. At the very least I haven't read any complaints that people couldn't save their games due to this homebrew update. Well I only read slashdot, but that is a haven for high tech complaints. : )

I'm looking forward to hearing more about what will be changed (hardware, especially) on the DSi.
I thought I lost my DS the other day, which led me to contemplate whether I should upgrade to DSi or PSP. I have to say it was a very tough decision. Either way, it shows that I would definitely utilize the DSi a lot.

Absence of SDHC support shouldn't even be a possibility.

Can you download manual?
Can you use a european R4 card?
