Wow, thanks Sony for clearing that up THE DAY AFTER the deal expires. Sucks for those of us that already purchased the episode, and now its too late to for us to get in. Never buying Qore again.

I was actually going to buy Qore because of Home. But I guess thats out.

Well, at least they updated in time to let us know we'd have to subscribe in order to--... Oh.

Why would they do this? Announce how to get in AFTER the deadline? If they were trying to bribe folks into buying Wore, at least tell us how to do it!

This seems like a great way to irritate the hell out of gamers. It's not Sony's fault that Fallout 3 is a bit gimped on PS3, but that and Home were two things I was very much excited about that I now don't give a flip about. Home was supposed to be out a long time ago, and now I don't even care if they cancel it.

Sony: I don't mind that you want money. But be upfront. Make the Home software an item I can purchase from your freaking online store. Make it clear that it will be free in a year for everyone, but you have to pay for it now.

Stop playing stupid games. I have youtube and a finite amount of space on my PS3 HDD. I don't want to download gig after gig of advertisements with Qore.

You guys are all saying "what jerks they are for telling us that buying today's episode of Qore won't get us into the beta!"

But I'm thinking "oh, how nice and considerate of them... surprising from a big corporation."

I mean, they could have waited to tell you until after the store updated and you bought today's episode of Qore. But no, they're saying "hey, just to be clear, if you're planning on buying today's Qore just for Home, don't... because it won't get you into the beta."

this email was sent out yesterday, the same day the subscription deadline ended. if you got the email then there was a chance to subscribe, if not then you'd be finding out today.

Bad move, Sony... I wonder how many more Qore subscribers there would be if they had put the sub date at Nov 1st.

I got this email also, and I'm really pissed about this. Qore is absolutely useless and the only reason I was considering purchasing another was for the Home Beta.

I know why they did it, though: They realized they would have a massive influx of people from this and their servers wouldn't be able to handle it. That's why they announced it after it was too late to buy in.

It's a coward's trick and shows how completely un-ready Home is.

Dude... it comes out by the end of the year... If you're not willing to put up some money, shut up, and just have some patience. Good things come to those who pay the 1-2 dollars a month (annual subscription depending on if you had Calling All Cars or not) which is much lower than a gallon of gas, or a gallon of milk every month.

If you can't afford it, that's fine, you can't afford to game anyway. If you can afford it, that's fine. If you don't want Qore because you don't care that much about developer interviews and behind the scenes stuff, that's understandable. If you do like that stuff and you're holding out because you think it should be free, then F U. Sony doesn't have hardly anything proprietary, sony doesn't charge for online, they hardly do any extra charges, least you could do is freakin pay 1-2 dollars to get some content. Quit being a freakin baby. Seriously.

Wah wah wah. Just go back to the Xbox while it still uses the blade system, and cut yourself freakin emos.

It's not subversive, it's not divisive, it's the free market. You buy what you feel is a good deal, and you don't buy what you feel is a bad deal... I'm already in the Beta so it doesn't matter to me. I bought Qore before I knew exactly what what it was, because I wanted to support Sony. I have had almost nothing but a great experience that only gets better with the PS3, so... so me... it's just a bunch of people just can't stop whining. You guys are pathetic. That's it.

DITTO!!!
I am also a Home Beta tester, Qore subscriber since day 1, and a member of the Gamer Advisory Panel.

My point is that Sony rewards the loyal fans.

So some advice for you whiners.
The next time Sony offes something like Qore....BUY IT!!!!

Sony is not M$...Sony rewards its loyal fanbase...whereas M$ offers everything for a fee.

@ Kevin
If I was a developer and people were willing to play my games for free, then why would I pay them to do it?

The fact that a lot of people are willing, makes it fine to use people for testing. Rewards go both ways. If you don't like it, then don't play the betas.

Yeah, I mean, ever since Qore was even announced they mentioned that there would be exclusive stuff like this in the future. Early demos like Valkyria Chronicles and Naruto, beta access like Resistance 2 and SOCOM, and now HOME. It's stupid to not have bought the subscription from day one. Did people think Sony was kidding when they said subs would have exclusive content? Either way, I'm safe.

@Terrence

Qore is useless. I don't need the latest news (read: propaganda) fed to me by Veronica Belmont when I can browse sites like this one and keep up with more up-to-date and more accurate news on my own. Unless you're that desperate to have an average-looking girl talk to you about video games, Qore is only useful for access to demos/betas. And I don't really feel like paying to test someone's product for them when I have full games that I know are good waiting on my queue...

That's dumb...they could have had way more Qore subscribers if they had let people know ahead of time. Home is the kind of hyped product that some people just have to get a piece of.

Anyway, doesn't matter, Home will finally come out soon, some people will like it, some will hate it.

Holy o Moly shake your head Sony! I've been dying to get into Home and would have laid down for an annual subscription if they had just said "must subscribe by "

To do this one day late is an incredibly unpopular move. I liked the one Qore episode I downloaded and was going to get this one for sure. After this, I (and millions of others) will probably balk at ever buying one.

Makes you wonder if they really want Home and Qore to succeed...

The release date is october 2007...wait, spring 2008...oh no... autumn 2008.... it has been more than a year that home was supposed to come out and 4 delays have been announced. 360 will have his wii avatars 4 months after announced...even if they arent the same they do what HOME will do in a micro version.

If microsoft release another console and continue to have the support it has till now...i might change my fanbase :( No just because of home but sony has been failing a lot this gen.

I subscribed to Qore from day one and have been totally pleased with it. Veronica B. is so dreamy, the early access to betas and demos have been pretty freaking sweet and being able to get into the Home beta is just the icing on the cake. A lot of the comments about this new news reeks of sour grapes. Next time Sony says early adopters (or in this case subscribers in general) will get some cool fringe benefits jump on it!!! Quit the bitchin' 'cause you made a decision you regret. Have some balls and suck up the fact that you made a bad decision and learn from your experiences. You know, like an adult?

I got the email yesterday around midnight and its a big time fail by Sony. Sony really should of given this email out a few days before October 29th. I was going to buy Qore when it just started in June but now I see how Sony only wants your money. $24 for early access to demos, betas, themes, videos, interviews seems like a waste of money. I can get this information free from the net or reading a magazine.
