Snake is still getting the job done, with Metal Gear Solid 4 publisher Konami forecasting an optimistic increase in profits, largely thanks to the senior stealth citizen's shenanigans. The company expects its financial results for the first-half fiscal year (due next week) to show an 88% rise in profits to 11.8 billion yen, with revenues increasing 9.8% to 146.9 billion yen.
Now, if only there was some way to sell Metal Gear Solid 4 to more people.

With MGS4, GT5, SOCOM, Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, Valkyria Chronicles, Warhawk, Uncharted, Bad Company, and GTA4, my video game library from this year alone is practically all sick PS3 exclusives. Not on purpose, just because the games rock. That's cool for Konami though.

I like how you listed all those "sick PS3 exclusives" and still decided to include GTA4.

You're an idiot. The PS3 base is 17 million the 360 is 22 million. In what world is that half the install base.

All these rumours ignore one thing: They could sell maybe 50,000 more copies by porting to the 360. Its just not worthy it, though Konami might still do it.
Fact, most 360 fans here despise games that are not brain-dead alien shooters. I am sure the Mistwalker folks secretly regret going to the 360 - the magnificent and 360-exclusive Lost Odyssey got, maybe, 600,000 copies sold? Each FF sell around 10 times as much on PS.
xbots only want MGS on 360 to vent their hate on the PS3 - and that wont work any longer. Even if they port to 360 now, the impact is gone. The moral impact on the PS brand would have been severe if MGS had gone multi-platform before launch maybe.

Great point, colinbell! That's why the top 3 selling XBox 360 games from last month were Force Unleashed, Rock Band 2, and Madden 09.
Fact, colinbell thinks about his posts, and doesn't just make up stuff because he's bitter.

colinbell,
If you want to state something as a fact, then at least back it up, don't just post senseless crap and label it as a fact.
Fact: the MGS franchise at its peak had 5.59 million customers, MGS4 is already at 4 million.
Fact: It will be hard to port the controls of the game, unlike the Xbox controller, the 360 controller lacks pressure sensing buttons, and that is something in which the fighting mechanics rely a lot.
Fact: There is a lot of in-game material that would have to be changed, such as using the Dualshock to control MKII or the famous conversation between Otacon and Snake about the advantages of Blu-Ray. There is also the Ipod used by Snake and also Naomi's Sony Ericsson cellphone.
and like I keep mentioning, why would Konami want to hurt Kojima's image/word? He not only has a hell lot of recognition in this industry, but he is also has a lot of experience since he was the VP of Konami...

You could hear the butthurt from this fanboy from a mile away. Yeah because games like Fable 2 totally don't sell on the 360 amirite? And let's just forget that two of the most highly anticipated games for the ps3 just so happene to be shooters.

I really doubt the removal of product placement would "change his image/world".
MGS4 could definitely be done on the 360, there is no doubt about it. But will it? I don't know, they made tons of money on PS3 so it's not like they need to recoup anything.
But then again, I hear companies like money...

Actually, hurting his image/word had more to do with the fact that he has kept saying that there won't be a port, so if Konami does indeed port it, well, let's just say that people will be less likely to trust him, same happened with Ikami...
"MGS4 could definitely be done on the 360, there is no doubt about it"
Definitely? I wouldn't really use that term since controls would be a huge issue, have you played MGS4?...
"But then again, I hear companies like money..."
Well, the problem is that MGS isn't a casual title by any means, the number of potential old buyers buying MGS4 is about 1.59. Not even during the PS2's good years was MGS able to beat that, actually it was the opposite, MGS3 lost about 1.5 million customers.
So you are really expecting a crowd to be out there for MGS4 360, not only that, but that it will be big enough to cover for the cost of what looks to be a really expensive port?
The chances of Bush ending his presidency leaving the country with a surplus are much higher than of a 360 port happening any time soon...

Let it go already. Metal gear's home is on the Playstation. Sony and Kojima, Konami have an outstanding relationship. they each fatten the others pockets.
Unless MS showers Kojima with millions and millions of dollars I dont think it will be making the jump.
But MS is known to shower people with money so it just might happen...... they might even be porting it as we speak.
They will have tons and tons of hate mail to sift through.
I personally cant wait for kojima's next project. He is a genius.
