Hold on, where was it stated that this game would be DLC? I missed that.

"it'll be a retail disc game and now DLC."

I think "now" is a typo for "not"...

Editor?

Is there a 'I like a few of the beatles songs, I think they'd be fun', but in general I don't care enough about them to want a whole lot from it' section?

I mean Maxwell's Silver Hammer, and maybe Revolution, but much more beyond that I can't think of any.

I don't personally want it, as I am TERRIBLE at these games and don't find them much fun as a result, but I do hope it comes out on the Wii so I can buy it for my folks.

Unfortunately, given HArmonix's track record with the Wii, I honestly don't know if it'll come out for it! I HOPE it will. I THINK it will...it would be ten kinds of stupid not to release it on the console that baby boomers own.
...but yet...I have no faith in them to make the right decision.

I also REALLY hope it isn't a full band thing. Just a guitar, please.

Deep in the jungle where the mighty tiger lies
Bill and his elephants were taken by surprise
Till Captain Marvel zapped him right between the eyes!

And all the children sing:
Hey, Bungalow Bill
What did you kill?
Bungalow Bill

I respect The Beatles, but they suck. The should officially name it "Beatles Bubble Gum Pop". I never understood what people heard or felt when they listened to Elvis, The Beatles, or Jimi Hendrix. I respect them all, but in my opinion none of them are worth my money.

I'm curious to find out what it is you like, because believe it or not, pretty much anything made after 1965 would likely not have come to fruition had it not been to a ton of innovation made by the Beatles, the Stones, the Who and the Beach Boys, across all popular genres.

For folks under say, 30, a lot of this is lost, because by the time you got into music, the stage had already been set.

There are some very real reasons why albums such as Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys and Sgt. Pepper by the Beatles are constantly on the "OMG!" lists...because *before* records like those, pretty much all popular music was derived from, well, church music :)

If you can find it, check out the song 'Cherchez La Femme' by Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band; it was from a concept album made on the premise of what 'modern' (for the time...it is a disco song...sorry ;)) american music would have sounded like without the influence of the sound of the British Invasion...

Fun fact: find a record before Sgt. Pepper; you'll notice that the bass is almost not there...because before that, bass guitar was recorded in studio via a live mic in front of a bass amp.

For some reason, McCartney and Martin had the brilliant idea to direct connect the bass to the soundboard for a more prominent, full sound.

There are tons of little things like that. Learn up :)

I could read up and/or listen to anything you throw at me, but that will not change the fact that The Beatles suck. I like The Who and The Beach Boys, but The Rolling Stones and The Beatles are utter crap.

You shouldn't want anyone to die. Just because I don't like two bands you think I should die? Yeah, that's what Lennon would have wanted...Mr. Imagine himself.

Bubblegum? WTF is that? It's another myth! OMG some people are just clueless about rock music...

This person jsa3mm would probably get a clenched fist to the nose if he said that about the Beatles in front of me!

It's quite ignorant - but maybe due to his lack of knowledge he didn't know what else to say and just got emotional.

ROCK ON... Beatles Forever, indeed.

I've said that to many Beatles fans. I have never been hit for it. John Lennon would be so ashamed of you if you would!

Imagine there were no Beatles
It's easy if you try
No bubble gum music
Around us no British whine
Imagine all the people
Living anyway

Bubblegum Pop - The chief characteristics of the genre are that it is pop music contrived and marketed to appeal to pre-teens, is produced in an assembly-line process, driven by producers and using faceless singers, and has an intangible, upbeat "bubblegum" sound. The songs typically have singalong choruses, seemingly childlike themes and a contrived innocence, occasionally combined with an undercurrent of sexual double entendre. They also have a catchy melody, simple chords, simple harmonies, danceable beats, and repetitive riffs or "hooks". The song lyrics often concern romantic love, but are notable for their frequent reference to sugary food, including sugar, honey, jelly and marmalade.

jsa3mm - Thanks for the description.. I had no idea what Bubblegum music was.. apparently it's a joke? That definition does not fit the Beatles or any of their music at all. In fact it says that Bubblegum Music came out AFTER the Beatles to take over the 'cute' and pre-teen market created in the WAKE of the Beatles world-wide explosion. Much the same way the pre-fabricated Monkees appeared out of Hollywood to take over stuff the Beatles left behind when they moved on to something new.

Twinkle, twinkle, Ringo Starr
George, and John and Paul
I can be more famouser
Than redwoods are tall

Beatles came down in a spaceship
And the whole world got wasted
So be.. like the Beatles
and let it be
Yeah, be.. like the Beatles... and let it be

I am sorry that you don't think the term Bubblegum pop doesn't fit, but I think it fits everything before they starting experimenting with drugs.

I freaking love The Beatles. Now personally I like Guitar Hero more, so I would have liked to seen this as a Guitar Hero title, but I will deal with Rock Band. I just want to play The Beatles on some instrument game. Mainly for singing actuallly :P Except for songs like Helter Skelter, that song is going to be fun on guitar.

Just so long as Ticket to Ride, Paperback Writer, and While My Guitar Gently Weeps is on this game I am ALL over it.

I am curious to see how they're going to handle Hey Jude, though...

YES The greatest rock band ever comes to this. I love the Who, the Stones, Led Zep, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Metallica and so on, but everything starts with the BEATLES~!

The Beatles were always at the forefront of HQ high end recording technology.

I hope we get to play around with the Beatles songs like in Rock Band where it feels like you're really playing the music.

I am dying to hear "A Hard Day's Night" or "Ticket To Ride" with different kinds of distortion and guitar effects on the guitars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uh everything before they started drugs? SO everything before about 1960? You don't even know what kind of music the Beatles are famous for either? Your knowledge of rock music is weak, young Jedi.
