Left 4 Dead intro cinematic blows minds, eats them
We're sure that following whatever events that may have transpired last night, your avarice for zombie-related media is at an all-time high. After all, Halloween is arguably the official holiday of the undead, next to Zombie Abraham Lincoln Day, which is only observed in certain parts of Illinois. To slake your thirst for those shambling brain-eaters, we've posted the opening cinematic for Valve's upcoming co-op survival sim, Left 4 Dead, after the jump.
We should warn you, it may increase your anticipation for the title to a level that causes you to begin feverishly working on a time machine with which to jump to the game's November 18 release. If you don't have the funding or free time for such an ambitious project, you'd be wise to skip ahead.

Marijuana is for people who are too scared to take heroin; drugs are for people who are scared of life. You disgust me.

Bowser has a point. :D

Publicly decrying recreational drug/alcohol use is a desperate cry for attention from the loser who nobody invites to parties.
Cellien @ Nov 1st 2008 6:15PM
Drugs are for the weak.
Vidikron @ Nov 1st 2008 8:03PM
Sure, they can be, but the same can be said of games or anything else in which people like to bury themselves.

People that use drugs are still people. They have just lost themselves and use drugs as a way to hide from their actual feelings and thoughts. They are not weak people ... they are just people. I am talking from experience as someone who has went to the depths of hell and came back out the other side unscathed.
The problem with drugs is that eventually there will never be any amount that is enough. What starts off as recreational turns into your best friend and worst enemy. In fact, they change your brain in such a way that you can't quit without the help and support from your loved ones. At a certain point you have to take opiates just to feel what you think is normal.
I laugh when people say Marijuana is a gateway drug. The fact is any drug or drink that you start with is your gateway drug.
Certain people that have a genetic pre-disposition to addictive behaviors usually end us as the ones the worst off. There are people that use drugs and alcohol recreationally without ever having an urge or impulse to keep going and going ... Addictive behavior and pre-disposition are not the only prerequisite to drug abuse. If you look you will see it everywhere from food addiction, dvd, game and shopping addictions. Some people (good people) some times do bad things but it doesn't make them weak. Going through what I put myself and family through has given me more resolve then ever before.
I'm 26 and have been clean and sober from all drugs and alcohol for nearly 3 years. College was the killer for me because of all the parties and no supervision.

I can't marry to cover another man's sins.
Bowser the Baptist @ Nov 2nd 2008 5:02AM
Once again I'm in sheer admiration of your indefatigability, Johnny Boy.
I'm 22 and a good friend of mine, someone who's the same age, is about to do 6-9 months for dealing brown (heroin). I guess I just overacted to that first comment. Somehow, it reminded me of my failure to act, first and foremost, as a friend and do the right thing. But I shouldn't have raged; it's awfully weak.
Also my second job I see these kids dabbling in this same shit. Sometimes I feel it's my place to step in and say something, and sometimes I do. But mostly I keep silent and let them 'live'. I guess it's not really my place to judge.
