Hello Everyone!

Here's a tip for you people who want to try out the NXE now but still be able to get on LIVE for Gears of War 2 and COD5.

What you do is download the leaked NXE update and install the update. Try it out and get started on installing those games you play the most onto your hard drive if you have enough space.

Once you've enjoyed the NXE and want to get on LIVE, you will need to download the Fall07 update from Xbox.com. The link is... http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360hddvdplayer/downloadredirect.htm

Once you downloaded it, install it and enjoy the old blade system while it last.

Sorry if I lead some people into thinking you get on LIVE with the NXE but maybe this will get some of you people to try it out before it comes out without worrying about missing out on GEARS or COD5 when it comes out. Enjoy

Aw man I miss live already, Im an idiot. So i tried reintalling the old dash the way you said. I had the smallest of hopes microsoft overlooked this. Unfortunetly it doesn't work. Live makes me happy... as did those blades.

Any other tricks?

Hello Scump, were you using a flash drive or cd/dvd? I had no problems using a flash drive. I don't know if the cd/dvd is disable for some reason if that's what you used? Also, you could try the following...

This will reset any failed system updates, which hopefully it thinks the NXE is and revert your system back to the old blade system. (I have not tried this method though so I can't comment if it works)

1. With the console off, press and hold the sync up button
2. While holding the sync button press the power button to turn on the console
3. Continue to hold the sync button until the Console has booted up completely.
4. During the boot process the console should clear any failed updates.

Good Luck!

Yep, there's definitely a chance of the ban hammer pwning people. Not everyone who installed the leaked update necessarily, but rather the people who leaked it out to begin with. If you want to see the warning from Microsoft, turn on your 360 (using the old dashboard) go to the "System" blade, then "Console Settings", and once there go to "System Info". Open that and there's ur warning. ;)
