With the game selling full price, these should be included for free :\

No. At full price a year later, with other versions selling as low as $20 new, any additional content should have been included for free. That or the PS3 version of Bioshock should have been sold for $30 or $40.

I been thinking of getting this game. Now with this extra content I might go ahead and make the purchase. It's good to read "designed specifically for the PlayStation 3 system", as long as it's good DLC.

Don't get me wrong this is a great game but... when you already dropped $60... should we really have to pay another $10... I mean come on a $70 game for the ps3, that is now $15 for the pc...

Who the hell pays full price for a game? Get off your butt and shop around. I've never paid less than 15% below RRP for a game.

As for "should be on the disk", they have to draw a line somewhere. Many extras are developed after a game has gone gold and been released. Do you want to wait longer for most games? And how do you know that this is not factored into the profit margin, i.e. the ability to make money from their product depends partly on sales of additional content. Games companies are businesses.

Reminds me of the dude round here who said a while ago that games had no reason to be more than $20 each, brand new. Yes, no reason at all - unless you wanted a games company to survive for more than one release.

Maybe not $20 but $49.99 will be they best price for this game. i dont remember any game released a year ago and then ported to other console been priced as a new game. maybe if the had included this DLC i would have worth the $60.

Great game i played in a pc for $20 by the way

Well talking about PC... In order to play most of the PC games now a days you'll need...

-Dual Core or Quad Core processor at 2.8 or higher.
-512MB DDR2-5 RAM Video Card or Dual Video Cards
-2-4GB of RAM depending on XP Vista or the game.
-10-40 GB HDD space per game installed on averge.
-An HD monitor of some sort perferrebly an DVI converter to and HD t.v. so you don't have to have 2 HDCP compliant monitors.
-High DPI mouse for precision otherwise you're screwed.
-Fast internet connection for downloading these massive games as well as playing online and not being destroyed due to your slow speeds.
-etc...

The people making computer games say that if you're a serious computer gamer you need to slap down about 4 grand on a computer set up.

If you're not spending all of that money on a PC to run all this stuff... then you can afford to pay a bit more on a re-released game or go buy an Xbox for 200 (while the 20GB hard drives are still free and not over priced POS) just to save 20-30 dollars on occasion and buy some older games that dropped down in price.

You really have to pay attention to the alternatives. Either way I'm renting it from gamefly so it's costing me a grand total of 40 cents a day roughly. :P I'm waiting for Deadspace to come. I got 10 other games in my Queue afterwards.

@MakaiOokami

You obviously have no idea what PC parts cost. You certainly do NOT need to spend 4Gs on a PC to play games like this. I have a PC (that cost perhaps $500 (1 year ago + an new upgraded graphics cards I got this summer making the total actual value about $600) and it can easily play all the latest games on decent resolutions. (1680x1050 for instance which is near enough full HD).

PC gaming isn't expensive if you know what you are doing. RAM is dirt cheap and has been for the last 18 months now at least, and you do not need dual GPUs to run most games, only if you want to play on stupid resolutions like 2560x1600 or something. Of course, there are some exceptions like Crysis (but that's not even on the consoles so we can ignore it).

@ MakaiOokami

I really hope your joking. I spent about $700 last on this computer:

8800 GTS 640
3GB RAM
2.6 GHz Dual Cores

I can play Bioshock maxed out (no DX10) at 1920x1200 with 30 FPS+ almost all the time.

James,

When the game comes out a year later, doesn't have the graphics cleaned up or tweaked, still has bugs from the original release, is being offered at full retail for a new game, then yeah, 10 bucks for some DLC sucks. And yes, people would have waited for the game to be delayed so the DLC could be on a disc. It was delayed a year already past the PC/360 release.

I've beat Bioshock on my 360 already and I'll eventually pick up a copy used on the PS3 to play it again with the DLC. If the DLC was released on the disc at $49.99, I would have jumped at it immediately. Now, 2K is only getting my DLC money since I'll pick up the game used.

Yeah, I'm returning my copy this week. I'm too busy to play it, plus for the reasons you mentioned, and this news, it's not worth it. Not at $70 in any case. It shouldn't be more than $50-$60 altogether, tops.

Rip-off. The PS3 Bioshock is a mediocre port of a beautiful game, and this DLC should have been included to compensate for the rediculous price tag, sub-par graphics and framerate.

I really wanted to get it for PS3, but the 360 version is better. I picked it up for 360 for $19.99.

I almost have it beat and over 50% on trophies. It really is a great game.
But that doesn't seem like $10 worth.
I think i learned my lesson and i should wait to download anything cause its always cheaper right after i buy it
Game should have been $50 or this free.
AND fix the white border cutscene problem.
and i've had it freeze on me, and found several glitches.
I had to replay hours worth of content cause of freezes.

This generation of gamers is gonna be known as the complainers. All I ever see on sites like these and on forums is constant bitching and moaning about trivial stuff. Get over it. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

Trivial? Not for people who love Bioshock and were hoping to get a definitive version of the game on their PS3. Bioshock is a classic and some feel strongly about the quality and value of this port.

Yes, hardcore gamers will complain no matter what, but they are entitled to their opinions. We are very critical but I think it's justified sometimes like with this charge of DLC. I think we're getting holiday $$ raped $$ on this port, so I won't buy it.

Criticizing can be helpful. Thanks to the evil complainers on 2K's forums that notified the PS3 Bioshock team on some graphical errors and some bad textures, which are now getting fixed in an upcoming patch.

Being critical is part of the nature of the gamer, it always has been. We expect a lot for our hard-earned money and have expectations which are sometimes met and some not, and they will always be posted on sites and forums. So get over it. It you don't like it, don't read them.

This an excellent purchase in my book and am very happy with the 60 bucks I spent.

This is an awesome game for someone who never played it before. My RODbox broke (for the last time and traded it in for a PS3 after it was fixed for the 5th time) before I could buy it.

But with that said, I won't be spending an additional 10 bucks on DLC that should have been included in a title that is a year old.

No way, they should have included this on the Disc (or free download) to make up for the 1 year wait. How is this for a sorry?
