Hey, remember last week when an Electronic Arts community manager announced that being banned from an EA forum would simultaneously ban users from playing their EA games online? Well, it's okay. All of you naughty forum dwellers can turn on the lights and open the shades, because it turns out that the community manager in question, known as eaapoc on the forums, was mistaken. Said eeapoc on the forums, "I had a misunderstanding with regards to our new upcoming forums and website and never meant to infer that if we ban or suspend you on the forums, you would be banned in-game as well. This is not correct, my mistake, my bad." He elaborates that being banned from the forums or from a game are separate process, so those banned from one need not fear being banned from the other.
So there you have it. You'll have to be some sort of super-jerk in order to be banned from both the forums and a game. Don't worry, internets, we know you're up to the task.

As i mentioned in earlier post they legally couldn't have done that. At least that clarified.

Well legally they probably could do it though I haven't browsed their ToS or EULA. It'd still be a really bad idea either way.

Now we just need to wait for him to correct his misuse of the word "infer".
The speaker IMPLIES. The listener INFERS.

You are correct sir, I was just going to make the same point. Also, unless I'm wrong I think he TOTALLY did mean to imply that a forum banning=game banning, but whatever.

if they did do that that would keep the people that got banned from buying ea games. that would be a dumb idea for ea. (EA- hey lets bane people from the forums and are games and we will lose money YEAH!!!!!)

keeping scumbags out of EA games > taking more of "are" money

merely the EA logo will stop me buying a game.. I never pre-ordered Dead Space because of it, though a mate says it feels nothing like an EA game, though waiting for the typical EA crapness around every corner.. if he completes it & feels the same, I'll get it.. on that though, I'm chancing Mirrors' Edge, a game so simple they surely can't mess it up surely.. can they?

Mirror's Edge will probably be good, I don't think EA's been able to spread their trademark stink all over it. Also Bad Company was good too (both developed by DICE)

I am glad this was clarified. Honestly It would be crazy to go ahead with what they had earlier.

My bad is the most powerful way to negate your stupidity.

They still fail, I bought Dead Space on PC and it doesn't even run properly, and all they did was lock a topic with people helping each other and provide a sticky that didn't help.
