In the midst of THQ's pink-slip-a-palooza, the publisher has announced Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor, a standalone expansion to its excellent RTS series (don't let the normally tired WWII setting turn you off). Tales of Valor will stay in-house at Relic Entertainment and the game will feature three campaigns, new multiplayer modes and a feature called "direct-fire."
Considering the intensity and length of campaigns Relic squeezed into Company of Heroes and its first expansion, Opposing Fronts, another expansion by that team is more than welcome. The game is expected to invade retail stores in spring of 2009. No price has been announced at this time, but Amazon lists it on pre-order for $30. We've clicked our engineers to make listening posts and hope to gather more intelligence soon.

Always prefered DoW over CoD despite everyone saying how much better the latter is.Maybe because I had it back on my old PC which took about 3 days to generate a frame(That's right, an Atari 2600!) and even though it's very smooth on my new PC, the stigma remained.I should probably give it a go again once I get my PSU fixed.
(oh yeah, the kills me too as I can do ordinary stuff without my my power supply crapping out my entire computer, but it will all crash as soon as I launch a game. I kid you not, it even crashed with freakin' Darwinia!)

Your comparing an action first person shooter to a squad based RTS.

Yeah, I had a similar problem prevented me from playing the game for a week a while back. It's a really retarded and broken system that forces those patches, and it's caused my computer to crash in the past.

Three campaigns, eh? Wonder if they'll sneak in the Russian Front this time, or if they'll do other theaters of war (Africa campaign, Berlin?)

The African scence would'nt make sense, they all used loaned weapons so that'll be german and british munitions, the only differnt armys around that time were the Japanese, Russians and Vietnamese

Awesome. Suffice to say I cannot wait, as CoH was an incredible game, and the single player was (IMO) the best part, so it's great to hear new campaigns are on the way. They really did a great job of making you feel like you were using real wartime strategy instead of just type-matching units.

As a cheap gamer, do they have a bundled pack for CoH already?

Does this include their idea about controlling a single Tiger Ace and its supporting troops through a campaign?
