Joystiq's Big Off-Topic Election Day Post

Well, here we are: Election Day. Think of it: In just a day's time we'll be able to turn on the news and be inundated not with the latest political happenings but with the status of Madonna's marriage and Lindsay Lohan's crotch. But, in the meantime, we're taking the opportunity to mark this last electoral hurrah.
So, if you want to celebrate your candidate, try to sway the rest of the Joystiq Biomass to your leanings or just discuss the day's happenings, this (and not all the rest of today's posts) is the place to do it. Just try to stay civil and you can talk about whatever you want without fear of banhammering.
Oh, and don't forget to vote ... unless, of course, you hate freedom.*
*Or you don't live in the U.S.**
**Or you're under 18.***
***Or you're busy. Not like regular busy either. Like super busy.

Here's to our next president -- Barack Obama.
Obie @ Nov 4th 2008 10:21AM
You tell em Pokey!
D_Average @ Nov 4th 2008 10:24AM
CNN and Fox have already declared Obama as the projected winner, sweet!!
Dirty @ Nov 4th 2008 10:27AM
Fox will probably hold out until Saturday to declare him the winner.
"While all the other news stations are drinking the Obama cool-aide we have held out for integrity, we wont declare a winner until every vote is counted or we can figure out a way to throw this thing."
Duke @ Nov 4th 2008 10:05AM
Oh here we go....
Anyway, I voted. Yay!
xFenixKnightx @ Nov 4th 2008 10:09AM
Obama fo yo momma baby!!! :D
Can't wait for tonight!
ExMcCloud @ Nov 4th 2008 10:12AM
Man I just cast a straight Democrat Ballot cuz I didnt know half the guys on the damn poll....Hopefully that wasn't a Dick move....But I did vote YES on Proposal 1! Legalize that Maryjane baby! lolz
NutMan @ Nov 4th 2008 10:14AM
Voting a straight ticket is lazy and really dumb imo.
You're basically saying that every single candidate on one side is perfect and every candidate on the other isn't.
Erluti @ Nov 4th 2008 10:15AM
@ Nutman
But what if you believe one party makes better mistakes then the other party?
ExMcCloud @ Nov 4th 2008 10:17AM
Well Nutman I'm sorry it was my first election I panicked.......lolz....The damn Ballot was humongous!
Beatz @ Nov 4th 2008 10:17AM
Hey dudes thanks for voting for me. Let's go for a burger. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
xFenixKnightx @ Nov 4th 2008 10:18AM

Did you vote early, Fenix, or are you going to be fighting the H-Town crowds?
xFenixKnightx @ Nov 4th 2008 10:35AM
Early, my local library is literally seconds away from my house. Just a hop, skip and a jump. :)
copa @ Nov 4th 2008 10:43AM
Pretty heady stuff. My mom is over 60 years old, and she is voting for the Democratic candidate for the first time in her life.
Cole Train never thought he would live to see this day.
Maverick Saturn @ Nov 4th 2008 10:45AM
*Tries to imagine Fenix hopping, skipping and jumping to his local library*
ExMcCloud @ Nov 4th 2008 10:47AM
Whoooooo Yeah baby bring it on!
The Train is a smooth ride!
xFenixKnightx @ Nov 4th 2008 10:50AM

OBAMA FTW!!! That's all I have to say!
Jerk Face @ Nov 4th 2008 6:26PM
For the record, Obamanation is the greatest term I have ever heard. Just saying.
[.sm0ke.] @ Nov 4th 2008 10:05AM
Went to Obama's last rally last night, and he was running late. So I got a lot of practice standing still for a long time, so the line should be a piece of cake.
tmacairjordan87 @ Nov 4th 2008 10:23AM
Umm he was probably running late because of that whole thing with his grandma dying ya know?
Xoviet chiK @ Nov 4th 2008 10:08AM
Cast my Obama ballot at 07:42:54 AM this morning... Now we have all night to watch coverage, and decide on whether a massive party is necessary or if we are moving to Canada.
Erluti @ Nov 4th 2008 10:09AM
http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/2008/02/24/75-threatening-to-move-to-canada/
ExMcCloud @ Nov 4th 2008 10:14AM
If I do have to move to Canada I'm prepared...Glad Detroit is only 20 minutes away from Windsor! Ha!
Snap Count @ Nov 4th 2008 10:21AM
I have relatives in Canada
baby sea tuna @ Nov 4th 2008 10:23AM
Jesus, you live in Detroit? I'm surprised you haven't moved already!
Xoviet chiK @ Nov 4th 2008 10:26AM
I lived in Vancouver 2.5 years, went to school at VFS. I'll manage.
ExMcCloud @ Nov 4th 2008 10:27AM
Tuna I like Detroit....Except for the murder, crime, bad economy, and over weight people its great....Oh yeah and our Mayor(Who is my Avatar) got sent to jail for lying under oath after he cheated on his wife and used tax dollars to buy himself things...lmao...But besides all that I love Detroit.
baby sea tuna @ Nov 4th 2008 10:35AM
Just sayin, cause I live in Baltimore and, as bad as it is here, I think I'd be scared as hell to live in Detroit!
Haggard @ Nov 4th 2008 11:14AM
My impressions of Baltimore and the US in general have been formed entirely from The Wire
343 Guilty Fart @ Nov 4th 2008 12:46PM
Yeah, The Wire and John Waters films.
Phantom @ Nov 4th 2008 4:54PM
LOL I live in Windsor , and am in Windsor RIGHT NOW , replying to some guys comment on Joystiq.
Phantom @ Nov 4th 2008 5:01PM
oh yeah , i just had to post again , incase you really are thinking about moving . Tax here is like 3 times what you have to pay , and shopping tax in Ontario is like 15% in Ontario now ...
But in exchange you get to live in a city with very little crime , and you get free healthcare. Also , if you have a job in detroit , KEEP IT . You have no idea how hard it is to find jobs here nowdays , my dad works up in London right now .
Erluti @ Nov 4th 2008 10:08AM
Just avoid voting for this guy:

Sora @ Nov 4th 2008 10:33AM
You might want to avoid this guy, as well:

T @ Nov 4th 2008 10:47AM
Watch out for this guy on your ballots as well:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernst_Stavro_Blofeld
Erluti @ Nov 4th 2008 10:48AM
I dunno, the constitution party is pretty cool. They just want to overturn things too quickly.
Brian @ Nov 4th 2008 10:09AM
Obama hates America! Vote McCain
Erluti @ Nov 4th 2008 10:11AM
Not the reason I voted for McCain, but yeah!
Believe in the Bradley Effect!
Obie @ Nov 4th 2008 10:13AM
THAT'S RACIST!
Duke @ Nov 4th 2008 10:18AM
You know, as a republican I have to say that I'm disappointed that the first person to say something pro-McCain had to do it in such a way. GJ at keeping it civil.
Nobody will change their vote because of something posted in this thread - so why do you bother.
riggs @ Nov 4th 2008 10:48AM
youre as white as your post!
Lars @ Nov 4th 2008 2:57PM
I hate it when people say not voting for Obama is racist. They're racist for saying that. It never even registered to me that he has some kind of ethnic identity until someone brought that up. Just vote for who you think will do the best job, don't vote for skin color.
I was behind Obama at first, but I changed my mind after him saying that he wants to crack down video games and reading the details of some of the bills he's worked on. I feel like video games are one of my last indulgences of freedom left. Seems like everything else has some kind of fee, registration, or other regulations/restrictions associated with it.
Riley @ Nov 4th 2008 11:47PM
he was saying that "believe in the bradley effect" was racist, not voting McCain
baby sea tuna @ Nov 4th 2008 10:10AM
So...how long is this one going to stay civil? I say 8 more posts.
