I wasn't too upset when I heard people buying 3 or 4 PS3s or XBox 360s at the time but 50 DSis? If this guy had half a brain he would have looked at the people who are iffy on the DSi and the fact that Nintendo has more DSis at launch than DSs at its launch.

I wonder how many are repeat buyers? I do own a GBA and a GBA SP, but I don't think I'll ever bite on a hardware refresh again. I find it a little hard to believe that the DSi would be the tipping point for some people to pick up a DS.

Well the difference is the GBA and SP played the same games. The DSi might incorperate the camera into games making them DS incompatable.

i knew it would sell good. only a matter of time before people start buying it in the US. especially if someone finds a way to run the flash cards! then anyone and EVERYONE who said they won't buy a DSi will run to their nearest retailer and stand in line for one of their own. i swear if piracy can be enabled on a said console people will run to it. people need to make friends with a piece of paper called "job apps".

Its amazing that their projections are dang well on target for sales. I thought Nintendo would end up shorting the retailers in Japan in order to create buzz and demand.

I think the N puts crack in their devices. All one has to do is give it a little lick before playing a game to have the experience "enhanced".

Of course it'll sell well; put cameras in with face-exaggerated stylus controlled contortions? C'mon, think about the kids and adults loving this. Music playback speed adjustments. WPA wifi encrytion, finally. Storage, finally. A calendar memo of sorts, finally. More net-centricity. All of this stuff adds up to a substantial update, IMO.

That picture is at the Bic Camera in Ikebukuro, Tokyo; I had a part time job a couple years ago right around the corner.

I shouldn't be surprised the DSi sold out, but when I went to get mine, I showed up (terribly hungover) 10 minutes before the store opened and was like 20th in line for the black model.
