As if you weren't already excited about the third person over the shoulder sequel featuring one Marcus Fenix (we're talking about Gears of War 2), Epic Games decided to release the game's opening cinematic in all its cinematical glory. Embedded above is said cinematic which is a two minute introduction to the Gears 2 storyline and details where things are headed this time around. Is it just us or does the Locust Queen sound even more bitchy this time around?

They both have the same kind of womens voice narrating the intro (galadriel is the one talking in the movie). And the way the camera is going past the people fighting with the flames all around reminds me of the scene where sauromon is creatingthe Orc army)

Anybody else get thoughts of the Lord of the Rings opening when watching this?
Pretty good but looks a bit like they're just using a lot of the camera styles that LOTR did, along with the female voiceover to explain how the ring/locust wars came into place.
Camera styles like zooming over the pits of what seemed like lava (zooming over Isengard in LOTR) and also zooming through/over the Locust armies (Orc armies in LOTR).
Could just be me though, but this reminded me of LOTR.
Still epic though.

That voice has been there since Gears of War 1.
They're moving closer to the core of their planet, you don't think there would be molten rock?
It's kind of hard to display a war without looking close to every movie or video game that was about war before it.

click play keith, don't be a puss.. anyways have you read the book yet? if not I suggest you do. it feels in empty gaps.. tells the story when marcus, carlos, dom, maria,childhood. bet you did't know dom got maria preggnant at 16.. lol.. if you a trully gears fan you should get that book.
