DJ Max Technika touching American arcades

Technika is a continuation of the Beatmania-style music game. Unlike previous DJ Max games, Technika utilizes a touch screen. Players must tap the screen as notes go across a blue line. As usual, Technika will feature full-motion video in the background and music from popular Korean musicians, like Clazziquai, 015B, BJJ, Sugar Donut, Garion, Humming Urban Stereo, Yozoh, and more.
Like many Japanese and Korean arcade cabinets, Technika will also be equipped with internet connectivity, to provide global leaderboards and updates to the game. IC Cards will save player progress. Test locations where players can try out Technika will be revealed in the coming days.

My town holds an arcade every like...6 months here. Probably the only thing for the youth to do and it happens twice a year.

More American arcades should support IC cards.
They would definitely give me more of an incentive to come back

"DJ Max Technika touching American arcades." Hello, Mr. Euphemism. Would you like some cider?
343 Guilty Fart @ Nov 6th 2008 7:01PM
Arcade, what's that? You mean this is coming to XBLA?
MuToiD_MaN @ Nov 6th 2008 8:56PM
I hate you so much right now.
Kattleox @ Nov 6th 2008 7:08PM
My town has an arcade. However, the most advanced game is Hungry Hungry Hippos. Not even a house of the dead or Area 51. I miss the good old days where you had to pay 25 cents to play a game for five minutes or until you died.

In those "good old days," Arcade machines were designed and programmed to kick your ass off in under a minute. Evidence you declare? Cheap deaths, fast deaths, the second battle in Mortal Kombat II, etc.
The days when you could play a game for 5 minutes actually came around the time you had to put 3 quarters into a machine of Jurassic Park or 2 quarters into an X-Men vs. Street Fighter machine.

Actually, Konami is kind of introducing Pop N Music for Xbox LIVE Arcade under a different name.
chronomaster.k @ Nov 7th 2008 12:47PM
Dear god let's not bring that up.
One phrase sums it up. Character designs by NAPPIE.
And no, I'm not being racist. Look her up. Get surprised. Potentially laugh your ass off. Then, cry yourself to sleep immediately after.

Looks like a juBeat/ubeat ripoff. Come on Konami, dont let another company do this to you.
Sheppy (of the Fidlious Clan of Wong) @ Nov 6th 2008 9:01PM
If you're expecting Konami to give many of their own Bemani game series exposure outside of Japan, I look forward to the day you realize Pop 'N Music will make it's US debut on PS5.
KeegdnaB @ Nov 6th 2008 11:25PM
@Sheppy,
If only it weren't true...oh well back to Play-Asia
tacoman @ Nov 7th 2008 4:53AM
That's exactly what I was going to say. It's DDR/Pump it Up all over again!

calvin @ Nov 6th 2008 7:47PM

chronomaster.k @ Nov 7th 2008 12:50PM
Yeah, nothing like playing 'Lift me up' or 'Jelly Kiss' for the 2000th time because Konami won't pursue the series over here. :V
Glass @ Nov 7th 2008 4:21PM
Yes, but is he touching them inappropriately?
