My sister bought a wii and it gathers dust and I just laugh.
Foetoid @ Nov 6th 2008 1:57AM
Well done. I guess you should probably actually buy some good games for it. Heres an idea:
Mario Galaxy
Super Paper Mario
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Resident Evil 4
Metroid Prime 3
Guitar Hero 3
Okami
De Blob
Tony Hawk Downhill Jam
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Mario Kart Wii
Wii Sports
Lost Winds
Sonic and the Secret Rings
Zack and Wiki
Battalion Wars 2
Geometry Wars: Galaxies
Trauma Centre: Second Opinion
No More Heroes
Lost Winds
FF:CC My Life As A King
If thats not enough games to keep anyone occupied, then you're obviously very very picky. Some of those games won't be everyones cup of tea, but thier still good games. And in case you thought there was nothing decent coming out:
Mad World
The Conduit
Tenchu IV
Pikmin 1&2 remakes
Prime 1&2 remakes
Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2
World of Goo
Sadness
Wii Sports Resort
Disaster: Day of Crisis
Fatal Frame IV
Red Steel 2
Mushroom Men
FF:CC The Crystal Bearers
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
Fragile
Monster Hunter 3
COD: World At War
Muramasa: The Demon Blade
No More Heroes: 2
Guitar Hero: World Tour
Guitar Hero: Metallica
Deadly Creatures
The Wii may be FLOODED with crap ps2-port minigame compilations and just general BS. But being flooded with those titles doesnt mean nothing good exists. There are still plenty of quality titles that look a lot better than last-gen which make good use of the Wiimote.

How long did all that take you.
Scorch @ Nov 6th 2008 3:04AM
lol yea same here
Foetoid @ Nov 6th 2008 7:26AM
Lol, actually i have a txt document on the desktop. I have a few, one for tracking my partners weight loss, one for the weekly budget and one for general crap. The general crap one has those two lists in case i need to make a point about the good current and yet-to-be-release titles for the Wii to counter any 'gathering dust' comments LOL.

I own a Wii, and besides Mario Galaxy, Kart, Brawl and Zack and Wiki, I have no games for it, I honestly haven't touched the thing in months.
Games like Guitar Hero are better played on other systems, and Resident Evil, Zelda and Okama barley count as Wii games, I'm not going to buy again just for the motion control. Same goes for Pikmin 1&2 which are NOT remakes, they're exactly the same as the versions I already own.
The only game coming to the Wii shortly that I have any interest in is Monster Hunter. I've accepted the fact that Nintendo just doesn't care bout having someone like me as a customer anymore, and a few ports isn't going to change my mind, and compared to the PS3 and 360's line up, I'd hardly consider your list of Wii games to be "plenty", as I don't believe even you could be interested in getting every one of those titles.
Foetoid @ Nov 6th 2008 8:29AM
While i do agree GH3 is played better on other systems, it's only because of the DLC, which has been rectified with GH:WT. GH3 is still very good on the Wii, the Wiimote makes the guitar slightly heavier and gives it rumble, a nice touch. I also don't count Pikmin on Wii a remake, but a touch-up to a new generation of casual gamers who'll lap it up. Personally, i owned the GC RE4 and happily traded it for the Wii edition, pleased with the controls and graphical overhaul. I'll do the same with Pikmin 1 & 2.
And yes, every single one of those 'coming soon' games i listed are games i would love to own. The only one looking iffy to me is Deadly Creatures. After seeing the trailers to all of them, i'm very pleased with the '09 Wii lineup and i'm sure anyone who actually watches the trailers for all of them would probably agree, unless their HD-Fanboys.

You should never take the bait, foetoid. These haters will poo-poo whatever you throw at them
It's just bandwagon hating. It's been cool since E3, and it will go away, just like the year of PS3 hating
samfish @ Nov 6th 2008 9:00AM
You should really take Sadness off that list. It's never coming out and, despite the video where it w as "shown", does not exist.
Blazur @ Nov 6th 2008 9:07AM
My Wii has been steadily collecting dust after getting it around launch time. Eventually a week ago I decided to ebay it and haven't regretted my decision. After the latest E3 I realized the console isn't for me, and I could no longer bring myself to invest in it any further.
I given Nintendo enormous credit for trying something new, but the fact of the matter is the games being produced for it simply doesn't appeal to me.
JontheNinja @ Nov 6th 2008 2:16PM
Since when does a guitar fucking rumble
